I think at one point I may have survived on the food from yellow door. Their sandwiches are are so fresh and tasty as they bake their own bread. I would normally go for the irish brie and ham with sun blushed tomatoes and basil pesto on olive bread or the chicken with mango pieces and honey madras mayo. They always have delicious sides on offer too like potato salad, beetroot salad and the little cocktail sausages are addictive. It gets pretty busy at lunchtime but the queue always moves quickly and the staff are amazing too. It’s a bit dearer than most sandwich shops but it’s quality you are paying for here.

Fresh breads, stunning salads and sambos to make your mouth water. Great café in Belfast. Little on the pricey side but you are paying for quality here and the portions are a great size. The chicken with mango curry mayo sandwich is devine. Staff are always friendly and they run a great little loyalty card so be sure to grab one the next time you are in.

If I could insert the«shocked eyes» emoji in here, I would! Everytime I go in I stand with big wide eyes unable to decide on what I want the most. Beautiful selection of fresh breads that draw you in from outside. Try the sourdough. Simple but delicious. Loads of bakery style treats, try the carrot cake! its a winner! Staff are friendly and informed on the gluten free/nut free selection. They supply out to some of the best cafes and little restaurants around town like Native at the mac.

Good luck to you if walking down the Lisburn Road you can walk past this place. The bread in the window is enough to drive me in whether I need any or not(and I cannot recommend their round sour-dough enough). Small but beautifully presented with their trendy handwritten signs straight out of Mary Queen of Shops(if you remember that show) there is a surprising selection of meats and bread-stuffs all clamouring for your attention, and the staff obviously have a passion for them all. I only popped in for a loaf and ended up with way more than I expected(as I wipe the chocolate brownie crumbs from my mouth, yum…). OK, it’s not the cheapest eat in the area, but the quality of the sandwiches are pretty hard to beat. It is no wonder these guys are expanding, and with this shop as an example, good luck to them.

Best sandwiches in Belfast! When I lived in Belfast I’d drive from the other side of town to get some of this food. The pastries are also outstanding!

Absolutely the best sandwiches in Belfast! I always get the Chicken Club with everything. The Sunblushed Tomato Mayo is the best. Everything is always fresh and the staff are usually very courteous and friendly. If you’re coming in around lunch time, expect to takeaway as there are not many seats, but that adds to the charm. The Oriental Noodle Salad and Orzo salad are always delicious as well. And make sure to pick up some bread to bring home!

I’m just going to reiterate everything everyone has ever said to me about this deli — it is awesome! Clean, fresh, warm and welcoming with a huge choice, a good sized portion and a very decent price. The shop itself reminds me of a French deli with all the gorgeous cheeses on display and the shelves which are home to dips, spreads and chutneys! Seriously this is my kind of place! I once had a white chocolate cheesecake in here many moons ago and the image and taste are well engraved in my memory — it looked like something out of a magazine and the taste was thick, creamy yet melting and amazing. I sound like a freak but I will never forget it — haven’t tasted one like it since. I can’t rave about this place and the food enough — just go, you’ll love it!

This is the ultimate deli experience in Belfast! I love the food here and it’s so fresh and I love the fact that even the bread is homemade! This makes for a very exciting smell upon entering here in the morning! Fresh baked bread… nothing better! I come here for lunch whenever I’m in the area and sometimes when I’m not! They offer a huge range of delicious fillings and will literally put together any combination you can think up! They’re not afraid to give you plenty and the prices a re great too! I’m told they also cater for functions and although have never experienced this side of the business if the food here is anything to go by it’ll be a win win combination!

The yellow door seems like a bit of an institution in the area. I have had friends that would claim that it is the best sandwich shop in the city and I would tend to agree. The food is so unbelievably fresh, so much so they bake their own bread on site. There are not many places in Belfast that you can say that about. It has many different types of sandwich but you are not limited to their menu as they are happy to put on anything you want that can fit between two slices. I have heard that they do an amazing ploughman’s sandwich, which I cannot bring myself to eat, but have heard from ploughman’s fans that it is incredible

Everybody always seems to rave about The Yellow Door Deli and their sandwiches, but tbh I found them to be just average, more like something I would make myself at home and definitely no where near the quality of The Streat or Doorsteps. So I have to say I’m mystified. They’re either slipping happy pills in the food or a few good marketing evangelists have created a myth around the food that doesn’t match the reality.

Yellow Door is a sandwich deli on the Lisburn Road. This place is incredible. Their sandwiches are fantastically made on freshly baked bread(baked in store) and all the fillings are wonderfully fresh. This shop is always very busy at lunch times with all the local businesses employees rushing to get some of the nicest sandwiches Belfast has to offer. My usual time at this store is usually when I’m desperately fighting a hangover and Yellow Door always helps me win that battle! The prices are reasonable and there is a huge variety of breads to choose from which adds something different that’s not available in the other delis close by. If your in the area and you want a sandwiches that will ruin any other sandwich you ever eat, then this is the place to go.

My first experience of this superb food haunt and private catering company came at last years Belfast food festival in Botanic Gardens. Every year, local restaurants plus those from the US and Canada servce a range of culinary delights with the backdrop of local music and, weather permitting, warm sunny weather. One of the stalls which took my fancy was the Yellow Door Deli. At first I thought it was one of the foreign stalls harking from the land of the free but infact it had only travelled less than a mile to get here. The deli had several types of dish on offer for a few tokens(purchased upon entry) I sampled suckling pork belly served with caramelised apples and lamb loin, seared with spice and served with parsnip chips. The pork was divine. As I’ve said before I am a complete sucker for slow cooked pork, and this was some of the finest I’ve had thus far. A crisp layer of fat sat on a base of mouth wateringly tender seasoned meat. A layer of fat just melted away and with the tart honeyed apples the combination was truly outstanding. The lamb was also up to the same standard. A perfectly seared piece of loin, cooked perfectly pink. Tender, well fed and of outstanding provenance. I’ve also had some of their breads and they are also superb. Fresh, traditionally made crusty loaves went exceedingly well with the home made potted crab I made.

You can’t feel guilty when you eat food from here, because it’s sooooo lovely and made with such good quality ingredients. They bake their own bread fresh every day, their sourdoughs and foccacia are gorgeous and eaten with some of their cheeses or chutneys or spreads — are to absolutely die for. They also offer catering for private events and functions — my friends’ wedding was catered by them and it was absolutely faultless. Their breads were on offer to start, along with some gorgeous tapenades, and their main was a buffet choice of salmon or spicy chicken, I wish I could remember the name of the dishes but they were gorgeous, and there was enough for seconds. They are definitely in the upper bracket price wise, but everything they do is of excellent quality and guaranteed to make your mouth water.
