Food & service was so great, I had to Unilocal,ASAP! Hummus was spectacular! The burger was so scrumptious, I do not miss American gourmet burgers! The olive oil & pistachio cake is a must order! No regrets here!

Haven’t been here for quite some time, having had my head turned by the wonderful array of indie food & drink joints in our bit of Brum, but, as others say on here, this is the quieter little sister of the one in Brindleyplace but gains something for that. For one thing the staff on the night we came were lovely, knowledgeable and friendly. It was Tuesday, tapas night, and we got 4 dishes plus a bottle of wine for £20. We upgraded to the better wine for £5, because the red Tempranillo was a bit faint. The tapas were well prepared, well presented and tasty. We also sprang for the £4.95 cocktails after. They would probably offend purists but were fun. In short, All Bar One in Newhall Street is the chain that thinks it’s an indie. And the better for it.

Two out of two times we have come for the Sunday brunch menu, and both times they have run out of things like bread, eggs, bacon, salmon and avacado by 2pm. Bearing in mind they only open at 1pm, that’s pretty poor management. It’s not bad in the evenings on quieter nights of the week, but the service is always slow.

This is the nicer All Bar One in Birmingham. It’s a lot quieter than its big sister in Brindley Place, and a much nicer place to have a couple of drinks. Situated in the financial district in Birmingham, there’s no shortage of suits enjoying a few premium lagers on weekday evenings. On the weekends it maintains the same chilled out atmosphere, with couples and friends quietly enjoying lunch after shopping. A good choice of cocktails, lagers and wines are available to choose from, but this isn’t really the place to come to if you want to sample a few nice ales to be honest. The food here leaves something to be desired– nothing to complain about in particular but just not especially tasty. A good spot for intimate drinks but I wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here.

Like the more refined baby sister of the Brindley Place All Bar One, the Newhall Street bar offers a more laid-back, more compact drinking experience. Incredibly popular with people on business lunches and after work drinks, the bar offers a good selection of wines and draft beers at somewhat above average city centre prices, as well as good quality meals and snacks. The atmosphere is bright and buzzing, and the staff are very friendly. I can recommend this place as somewhere to go with one or two friends, but with larger groups it starts to get a little too cosy. It really isn’t that large of a venue, although they do have private space set aside for groups wishing to book it.

My favourite branch of the All Bar One chain in Birmingham. It’s less hectic and smaller but has better atmosphere. I like the food which isn’t mind blowing but tasty and you know what you are getting, so consistent. Good selection of wine. Staff are friendly. can be full of suits as it’s in the professional services bit of the city. If you need a small space for meetings/meal for a small party it’s worth checking this place out. There’s a room at the back and I’ve used it in the past. Book it and have a nice space for a private function. Probably 20 people.
