I like Yakinori. So far the food hasn’t disappointed– both as takeaway and in-restaurant. The sushi is very fresh and good. The bento boxes are generous, and I am a huge fan of their katsu curry sauce. It seems like portion sizes vary though– sometimes it seems like you’re really getting a bang for your buck, other times it feels like you’ve paid way too much. They have such a varied menu with options that appeal to everyone(who wants to try Japanese food), methinks. Very good– definitely not particularly refined cuisine, but it doesn’t give off the vibe that it’s trying to be. It’s ‘fun’ food. My main qualm is that I find them to be just a *tad* overpriced. I also find the restaurant space and seating to be a bit jarring and uncomfortable. The plastic-bench-picnic table vibe doesn’t really match the price or presentation of the food. The restaurant is very small but feels very hectic. I get claustrophobic in there when it’s busy. That said, the management is incredibly friendly and helpful(had a really nice chat with the manager), and again, the food hasn’t disappointed yet.

Love this addition to Selly Oak! Worth a drive over there in my opinion. The décor is the same charming characters as the original Woktastic and the atmosphere and menu are just as fun. It’s good to know that on a nice day you can sit outside, but there is takeaway available too!:)

So i’ve heard good things about Yakinori and decided to order via delivery service Deliveroo. it arrived slightly late but that got nothing to do with yarkinori and more the service from deliveroo. However for £53.98 plus delivery, it was very expensive, below average quality, small portions, wrong items delivered: — Shichimi chilli calamari 4.25(fresh but small portion) — Edamame beans 3.75(average tasted like its frozen) — Softs shell crab tempura 5.99(tasted good but small portion) — Yakinori fried rice chicken and tiger prawn pon(plenty of rice, not enough chicken, a few prawns) Salmon & Avocado Heaven(avocado mostly gone black not fresh at all, small piece of salmon as previously) Chicken Katsu Curry(ok — average £9.50) Beef Yakiniku Bento(beef was ok, sushi again small portion, rice soaky and too wet) Overall good for rich people who have a lot of money to flutter away on what is simply a take away, and those who loves to junk food quality(McDonalds) at fine dining prices! ok slight exaggeration there — but anyone with a slight sense of what good japanese food taste like will not come here at all!!!

This place is sooo amazing! I only tried Grand Central’s branch tho. To be honest, I’ve been noticing it for a while, but the outer of the restaurant didn’t attract me. I had to try it since my sister insisted it’s so good and can be compared to wagamama’s. Let me just say this, it’s one of the top Japanese restaurant in grand central. They have three menus; drinks, main courses, and sweets. There aren’t many options for the seating, which sucks. The food tho, the food is so delicious! Their starters, main courses, and sweets are highly recommended. I forgot to mention that the workers there are friendly, and the waiting time and prices are average.

Japanese food and sushi specifically is not that popular in the Birmingham area compared to places like London where are more prolific. Yakinori is a rare animal. Now recently they opened their new restaurant at the Grand Central station. Is a small place, with a surprising high flow of costumers. Every time I go there the tables are full but I have never waited for a table; either indoors or outdoors. That already tells you that something is good about the place. Menu is quiet varied, and everything you can think of for a «typical» sushi bar is in there. The food is made right at the time and is fresh. From the maki, temaki, sashimi, nigri to the ramen soups and cooked noodle dishes… Me And my friends have nothing but a lovely experiences with the food there. The people in charge are doing an excellent job here and the managers and staff in general are friendly. Excellent choice.
