Went here for a special occasion and we were certainly not disappointed. Food was divine and staff very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. I had the pork belly with trio of salsas — absolutely delicious. If you’re celebrating I can recommend the house prosecco too. Overall, fantastic food, not cheap, but great for a special night out.

Well apparently this place has been on Gordon Ramsey’s F word. Also, apparently, it came second to a place in Manchester. Finally, Bristol Unilocalers think it’s the best restaurant in town. First thoughts, tiny place, not much room for elbow movements. Clean, and well dressed, and pleasant staff, but had they toned down the fake Italian accents and reverted back to their middle England(or Welsh or Polish) ones, I’d have understood the stuffing in that ravioli a lot quicker. Food’s very simple; a concept if coupled with very fresh ingredients tends to produce phenomenal meals. Now that’s where they lacked a bit, I think. The food was prepared without much fuss, but I thought it didn’t have the freshest ingredients. I had the lamb for my main course, and being in England I expected much better quality. The dessert was a combo of three cocoa based bite sized«delights». A scoop of ice cream, a piece of warm dark chocolate, and a chocolate mousse — all heavily dusted with chocolate powder. It wasn’t bad, however, had I not been of company expenses I’d have pointed out the futility of spending 10 pounds on three bits of mediocre chocolate.

This is a wonderful little oasis of fine dining in the heart of Clifton Village. And yes, the Prosecco is to die for. I had often walked past the yellow frontage of this smart and inviting little restaurant, dying to dive in. It claims to combine the finest local produce and carefully selected Italian ingredients in a mouth-watering selection of dishes and it achieves just that. The menu is unpretentious and entirely concentrated on flavour, which to me is the best way to eat Italian. It is a little small and you almost feel like they’ve crammed too many tables in there, but after a few glasses of sweet bubbly fizz, you no longer care. The gnocchi is incredible and they do really generous primi and secondi portions. I can also recommend the risotto with mushrooms and truffle oil. The chefs each time surpass themselves with simple dishes that are chock-full of flavour and ingredients that are beautifully balanced.

One of my most favourite restaurants. Definitely my #1 in Bristol. My wife and I had our wedding reception here, and the team at Prosecco really were a big part of making our special day, fantastic. Wonderful food, staff & reasonable prices. Never knew Italian food could taste so good. Don’t miss it!

Having reviewed the winner of Gordan Ramsey’s best Italian restaurant on the F Word in Leeds, I thought I’d try out the runner up. A family-run Italian in Clifton Village, the wife is front of house, as her husband is in the kitchen, preparing some absolutely delicious food. The décor is simple, which leads you to focus on what is presented before you by the chef, rather than being destracted by your surroundings. I settled for duck, out of a surprisingly extensive menu, and it was cooked to perfection. The service was brilliant, and whilst it may hurt your wallet slightly more than the other Italian chain options in the area, I’d say that for a one off, it is most certainly worth it. One thing I would say is that due to their new found fame thanks to GR, you must book in advance, and you may find you have to dine earlier than you may perhaps be used to.

I heard this place was on Gordon Ramsey’s F Word last week as one of the best Italian restaurants in the England. I went there a few months ago and found it to be pretty good but certainly wouldn’t have said it was the best in the country. Not even sure it’s the best in Bristol. I’ve been to Italy a few times and would have to say that from a culinary perspective I much prefer the south to the north as I find it delivers simpler food, but with bigger flavours. The north tends to offer a more sophisticated plate of food with a touch of finesse(which I’m not too keen on with my Italian dishes).Prosecco sits firmly in this second category and is most definitely north Italian food. Your ravioli is stuffed with crab and saffron for example and their venison is served with chestnuts and speck. Don’t get me wrong, this is high end fine dining and it is done very, very well. But if you’re looking for a heartier Italian which serves simpler(southern) food, this isn’t the place.

One of my fav resturants in Bristol! The food is excellent prepared fresh, a must for anyone who loves Italian food. It’s not cheap, but good value for the quality of the food. Service was excellent. The do a early bird’s deal to if eating before 7. The choice of about 5⁄6 different Prosecco’s yum yum!
