Di Maggios’s East Kilbride is ‘our’ restaurant as me and the lil’ lady have been going for lunches and dinners since we started going out. As another reviewer mentioned, this is part of a chain of restaurants but in no way does it feel that way. The manager seems to always be there(thin guy, glasses) and will always provide you with a welcome and pick the best table he can for you. The staff are well trained and friendly to chat to as well as quick to help you with your order. The restaurant has a nice classic American diner style feel to it and was refurbished a while back. The bar is well stocked with a selection of most drinks you can think of, though a few extra craft beers would be appreciated. Prices are unbeatable with lunch and pre-theater menus on offer and a very reasonable a la carte selection also. You could always turn your nose up to simple food like pizza, pasta, burger, steak etc but frankly, why would you when you simply want to be in a place you are made to feel comfortable and you’re with good company.

This restaurants is part of a big chain, but I don’t feel like it comes across that way. You get a hearty welcome and shown to a comfortable booth. The menu is very extensive and all tastes should be catered for. The food order is taken just when you’re ready and the drinks come promptly. The food delivery is all at once as well. They have a childrens’ room with Sony Play Stations and other forms of entertainment in it. It’s actually not that easy getting your son back out when his meal has arrived and he can’t wait to get back there once he’s finished. I didn’t give it the five stars because, like a lot of italian food, there was a heavy stodgy element to it. The garlic bread starter is like a pizza and can fill you up too much, so don’t eat it all if you order it.
