Lunch visit Firstly … In a busy café you need to be able to tell staff from customers, I don’t mean they all have to be dressed in military uniform, but select a specific colour to wear, put on an apron, wear a badge … Anything so I am not looking around to see who I can ask for a table, or even to get drinks Seated after a short wait which was fine, ordered drinks, 200ml diet coke??? Really you are going to charge how much for a tiny bottle… Get cans in if that’s all the size that fit in your fridge(like I was told) Pot of tea was a good size however Had to chase the drinks … They forgot about ours Big breakfast was just an average fried breakfast however for £10.50 I expected better Eggs Benedict… Muffin was toasted so long that even the serrated knife struggled to cut through it Im sure this place is much loved by many however this being my first and probably only visit it’s hard to see why

Best lunch. Had manchego salad with pistachio and pomegranate and chips on the side. Potatoes taste amazing! First place where nothing was too salty. Think they put lemon instead. Took a while to get served, although I did come at peak time. Young waitresses are very friendly and kind and rest of staff very efficient. Wish I could stay longer, though I’ll be back!

I’ve been going to Delizique for some years now so apologies for the late review…(oops) I mostly visit for take away but have on a few occasions sat in for nice coffee and delicious cake(more on that later!). On my last sit-in visit I was trying to find a local café that actually had not only a bit more space but also a highchair for my friends toddler, not being a parent I was surprised how few places actually have highchairs! Delizique luckily do and they were really lovely about finding a good/appropriate table for us to sit at too. I do like the ‘shabby chic’, mostly wooden interior in here. I especially like the big yellow door and internal tree covered in fairy lights. Cute & cosy. For drinks we had coffee(Flat White) and tea(English Breakfast & Green) and both had cakes. THECAKES! Yes, the cakes in here are most excellent, my current favourite is the Carrot Cake; moist, tasty & just the perfect amount of cream cheese topping ~ delicious. My friend had the same as she had heard how good it was(from me!) and she wasn’t disappointed. Her wee boy liked it as well. Yas. The Raspberry & White Chocolate Blondies, Hazelnut Choc Brownies, New York style baked Cheesecake, gluten free Chocolate Cake and other cakes are also very good. I spotted a Pistachio Financier when I was last in and that is next on my ‘To Try’ list. Whether eating in or taking away they don’t scrimp on the portions here, you get a good HUNK of cake. The prices are pretty reasonable also. The staff are always really friendly & helpful and on my last visit I was just in for eggs and cake & the lovely chap serving asked if I would like the last slice of the GF Chocolate Cake for free as they’d just brought out a new one, err… yes! Free cake?! You don’t need to ask me twice! That was so lovely of him. I know when I worked in my coffee shop years ago I used to offer free muffins or pastries to folk at the end of the day and you’d be surprised how many folk turn them down! They must’ve thought there was a catch or it was a trick question! Ah well. As well as the cakes they sell pastries, sandwiches, quiches & other savoury eats alongside some deli produce/cupboard goods like jams, soft drinks and Corrie Mains Farm eggs, which are some of the best eggs in the area if you’re an egg fan. It’s a nice place to sit in and always a wee bit more relaxed feeling than next door in Cafezique. They don’t open as late here though but if you’re after a relaxed place for brunch/lunch or just a coffee and cake(or EGGS!) then I can recommend checking out Delizique.

Delicious cakes, croissants and coffee as well as decoration of the local, but for me the price was so expensive 4£ for a cake and 2£ for croissant. I recommend the place to visit and eat in, but I think that would be places cheaper with same quality.

I’m obsessed with their toasted croissants for breakfast. I’m a even bigger fan of their salmon and cream cheese sandwich on a croissant. It’s excellent and I’ll be back for more again. The pancakes aren’t what I would consider pancakes-they are thick bready item with some savoury and sweet things added to them. They really need syrup which I think should just come with them. I’m excited to try their pizzas at some point.

Headed out this afternoon into the dreech, grey ‘Glasgow Summer’ pahahah!!! Summer what’s that!!! Anyway it was deff a coffee and cake afternoon, and we soon stumbled on the beautiful sunny door of Delizique on Hyndland Road. I have been here and next door at cafezique many a time and I have no complaints. It’s a beautiful space with an amazing fairy light lit tree right in the middle! We managed to get a window seat and settled in with some papers having pursued the cKe display. I was tempted by both the New York Cheesecake and/or carrot cake(surprise!!) u went with what I know — carrot it was! I was NOT disappointed. A beautiful moist cake with the most sweet sublime cream cheese frosting. Hubby had a fruit scone which came hot and he loved it. We both had a cappuccino which was delicious!!! No mild caffeine here. Only negative was the cost, £4 for the cake is very expensive. good as it was! It’s just such a nice place we can overlook the price We will deff return soon!

What a gem. A few Saturday’s back, my parents and brother were in town and fancied lunch in the Partick area. Having raved about Cafezique, we originally tried to get in there but it was full. So we went into Delizique, warning they don’t serve alcohol. My Mum fancied a glass of white, but had to go without. However, they do have a corkage charge. Immeditately on walking in, we all decided to have a cake, as well the cakes looked incredible! First was mains. We had a mix, my Dad had soup and the salmon croissant, as did my Mum, I had the quiche with salad and my brother the handmade pizza. The pizza looked incredible, chorizo and cheese of some description. My quiche was also great, but I loved the Iranian couscous. When ordering a quiche, you can choose which of the 3 salads of the day you want with it. The coffee here is also top notch. I had a huge slab of the chocolate fudge cake and loved it. My Mum had carrot cake, and Dad had shortbread. All empty plates. Judging by the business, it is a popular spot. Both to grab a fine piece and some sweet treats or to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The open kitchen is great if you like people watching. I did giggle slightly when the chef from Cafezique(2 doors down), popped in to take a tub of the homemade tomato sauce. I also love the tree in the middle with fairy lights, will be back in the darker winter afternoons to see it all lit up.

Seriously good food here! Delizique has been around for a long time and it’s a bit of a West End institution. It can be easy to forget how great places like this are when there are new eateries opening every week but it’s great to redicover old favourites. Delizique is more like a café than their venue next door Cafezique which is a little confusing. You can get breakfast/brunch in both places but only Cafezique does dinner and there are some other differences to the menu. One is that Delizique serves freshly made sourdough pizza with an array of delicious toppings and this is what brought me to their door. I opted for the chorizo, mozzarella and basil topped pizza which came drizzled in olive oil and was out of this world delicious. At £9 I thought it was a little small but it was actually very filling especially after I followed it with a coffee and a custard tart. The tart was light and crispy and filled with sweet, creamy, slightly eggy custard. The cakes on display looked very tempting and I can definitely see myself going back soon for one of the brownies. The place itself is a little cramped and I find it weird that they’ve got these old plastic chairs that you’d usually see in a church hall AA meeting. I think they could do with a bit of a table and chair rethink. They do have a fantastic breakfast bar at the window though and best of all a tree growing right in the middle of the deli. The service is friendly, very polite and efficient. Overall, a great place for a high quality lunch to sit in or take away or a delicious cake and coffee break.

I am so, so, so disappointed. I think we came here on an off day, because I don’t know what happened. I ordered a latte and thinking I would get a decent amount of coffee, I was left disappointed. You know those small glasses you get for water? That’s what the latte came in. A friend and myself, although I had had breakfast a few hours previously, decided to go for pancakes. Now, the flavourings sounded amazing — from something that we believed was going to taste like carrot cake to apple and cinnamon(which is what I went for). First, we waited for ages. When the«pancake» finally arrived, it was a huge skillet type pancake. They looked good and smelled lovely. Unfortunately, upon cutting in, my friend found her’s to be completely raw in the centre(think batter), and mine was burnt on the underside — completely burnt. They also, unfortunately, lacked a lot of flavour and were very dry. The raw pancake was replaced with a free and un-raw one, and I ate about three quarters of mine(but I wasn’t happy about it). It’s also really quite warm in here. The few things that redeem this place is the bread on display(beautiful, beautiful bread) and the veggie sausage roll(which does not look like a sausage roll at all, but taste lovely). I also really like the tree inside the room. The staff is also very friendly.

Hidden in the book and cranny of westend, went to Delizique for a nice lunch after yoga! Had a vegetarian sausage roll(which came with pickles and salad) and the soup of the day! Both were splendid. And their cappuccino was pretty well done as well. Staff were friendly, nothing to complain there. The space is a bit small and crammed when crowded but regardless, it’s a nice deli with good food and funky interior! Would definitely pop back in!

It’s sad to see the deli part of Delizique diminish on an almost a month-by-month basis, but I suppose with the juggernaught that is Waitrose having moved into town a couple of years ago and firmly here to stay, this was almost inevitable. However, what the shop now lacks in the typically Hyndland-esque aspirational and artisan ingredients(although it still does good coffee beans by the kilo), it makes up for in carrot cake. The world’s best carrot cake, I think — not official yet though. Elsewhere, the point of Delizique to me now is to treat it almost like a local bakers, as the bread and other pastries/cakes/sandwiches are top notch.

We popped in here on Saturday following Unilocal’s first Brunch Club next door at Cafezique. I just wanted a stickybeak as I wasn’t sure what the difference between Delizique and Cafezieque is(I’m still not really sure). At Delizique you can buy cakes/bread to go, and there isn’t as many deli options as you would think from the name. The bread and cake is a long a counter as you go in the main door, which is also where people who have eaten in the dining space are paying for their food, and is the main thoroughfare so it gets pretty busy. There was an impressive array of cakes including chocolate brownies, cheesecake and a gluten free option of lemon polenta cake. We went for a brownie and the polenta cake and both were delicious when we scoffed them at home. I’d definitely pop back to check out their cake options again, as well as trying them out for food as I was pretty impressed by Cafezique.

Those crafty owners have converted the Deli into a café so i was a bit lost when I wandered in expecting to find a shop and found an eatery instead. That said, instead of filling a basket I sat down and filled my tum and wasn’t disappointed with the results. The sourdough pizza and a butternut squash soup were amazing. The pizza was light and fresh, and though a bit on the small side for the £9 price tag, was enough for lunch — I’d go as far as saying it was up there with my best Glasgow pizza moments. The soup left my lunch partner beaming. The only thing better than the food was the service, with huge smiles and genuine interest in the customer. Top marks. Would be a five star eatery general but it’s a wee bit cramped and if I’d arrived hungry I think the pizza would need another couple of inches.

yes i do agree about the staff needing a kick up the arse. I watched my breakfast(eggs!) sit there ready to go, for 5 minutes whilst they made my friends eggs. Arrived not so warm. kinda annoyed me. But the food was delicious otherwise and good coffee. Perhaps another toilet would be nice?

Delizique = C’est Magnifique! The boyfriend and I were chillaxin’ at Cafezique one sunny Glasgow afternoon, and decided we ought to mosey on over to Delizique. This wonderful deli is just a couple doorsteps away from the wonderful Cafezique that serves up the same wonderful food from the deli. Overall, it’s just wonderful! Delizique offers a selection of high-end groceries, perfect for a foodie like myself(and the boyfriend). There’s an array of spices and organic options, which I got excited about. They also bake their own breads, which smell and taste delicious). In addition to their bread, they also have plenty of ready-made meals. Just recently we had potato and leek soup, pasty, and quiche… all quite good and reasonably priced. Bottom line: With Delizique’s fresh(and organic) offerings, reasonable prices and great service, we’ll be back!

The Hyndland crowd have been in love with Delizique long before neighbouring Cafezique came along and it isn’t hard to see why. While Glasgow’s West End is over run with deli’s these days Delizique offers something a little bit special. As well as being able to buy jars and packets of this and that organic such and such you can also buy delicious premade foods such as pizzas, savoury tarts and salads. There are also some yummy sweet goods like cheesecakes and Turkish Delight. You have to be quick and head down early in the morning though as these freshly made goods sell out fast! If you are into your food in any way at all then you will appreciate that Delizique has some really unusual and exotic things on offer and I have pestered the staff here with lots of «What’s this? Where does it come from? Whats it like?» type questions! The staff are really friendly and have even been known to order in items especially for some of their regular customers.

Two doors up from the achingly cool Cafezique is it’s sister business Delizique. Now, if you’re finding it difficult to distinguish between these two, then take this hint — the clue is in the name. DELIzique is the delicatessen branch of the business. Inside Delizique, you’ll find that this high-end Deli has gone for a bit of a shabby chic look. Amongst slightly distreesed wooden shelves you’ll find all sorts of coffees, teas, fruits, cakes, chocolates and other deli-style foodstuffs. They also have a great selection of fresh breads, meats, cheeses and vegetables. Plus, you’ll find shelves stocked high with all sorts of sauces and fillings. Still need convincing? Well, the staff are friendly, the stock is well placed, and the prices are perfectly reasonable.

A fancy place selling the type of fancy arsed gear you expect more from the Byres Road chic than the Partick punters, however with the proximity of the Hyndland area you can see why this place is as fancy arsed as it is. Now don’t get me wrong, despite the negative tone and derisory comments I’m quite the fan of these type places however much it goes against my working class childhood and deep rumbling dislike of the burgeoning middle class bullshit that fuels these bourgeoisie boutiques. But hey, who cares about that crap, whats it like? Well, its damn nice with a fine selection of meats, cheese, baked goods and the usual fare you would expect from a deli come high end grocer. In close proximity to the Cafezique and always looking busy, this delightful deli is a definite worth while stop of your looking for some high end grub to put at the front of your cupboards to impress guests when they come over«why yes, its Bolivian free range organic fair-trade karma friendly politically correct into its arts watches the south bank show, coffee… its shit, the Nescafe’s at the back next to the Twix’s».

if you want good food in sumptous settings, you won’t do much better than cafezique. make sure you hit the atm before you go, though! the only thing that would make this place better would be to give the young staff a kick up the arse — both slow and surly when we visited. a real shame, that
