I do love five guys Yes it’s expensive and yes the interior is less appealing than some newly refurbished McDonald’s However the burgers are great and even a small fries is huge! Bacon cheese burger, small fries and a drink £14 I know I know it’s over priced but I sit and get my money’s worth with the free refills Today I even got a large fries from the guy instead of the small I purchased… That’s how to surprise and delight your customers and that is another reason I will keep coming back The team in this particular branch are always very friendly and that puts a smile on my face

I love Five Guys, even though it’s wildly expensive compared to the US. I’ve found this branch to be a little hit or miss with service, but has the music dialled back slightly, which is great! Still the best fast food burger around!

Fresh meat and fresh ingredients! Plus they have so many soda selections! Will definitely be returning for a burger!

Can I give 5 stars for just tasting their drinks? Well, I will. they have a drinks machine called CocaCola freestyle which gives you over a hundred drinks options. For some reason I fancied a big cup of drink to take home, and I didn’t know they had these options… will be back for that again. I went for Coke Zero Orange. If I revisit for food, I will re-review, but for now, 5 stars for 5 guys drinks!

It has to be said that rolling in to order burgers, fries and milkshakes on a mobility scooter may be the most white trash stunt I have ever pulled. It was the highlight of my year and I highly recommend it. G got a table and high chair while I ordered. Both were easy to find and lovely and clean, it was quiet though. I ordered 2 burgers, a large cajun fries to share and 2 shakes. It came to £30 which was more expensive than I was expecting for a fast food meal — must learn to start checking the prices on the board before ordering! The food was ready really quickly. Unfortunately, the man making the shakes was having a problem with the lids so there was a bit of a wait and I was sat with the food rapidly cooling in the mobility scooter basket. Thankfully he seemed to find some new lids and I was getting ready to see if I could fit the shakes in the basket when a lovely member of staff appeared from nowhere to carry my drinks to the table. She was really sweet and made sure that we had everything we needed before she went back to what she was doing. Despite shake related delays the burgers and fries were still piping hot and were absolutely amazing. I had a cheeseburger all the way and would recommend it heartily. Everything tasted fresh, flavoursome and in really generous servings — special mention to the amazing pickles, I love a decent serving of gerkin! The cajun fries were super spicy, beautifully crisp and a large serving is huge, next time we’ll get a medium to share as we had to leave loads! Part of the reason we had to leave fries was because neither of us was going to even consider leaving a drop of the milkshake. I had peanut butter flavour and g had salted caramel, neither of us had whipped cream. My peanut butter shake made me want to write poetry. This was a thing of beauty. It almost deserved to be taken to a darkened room and savoured silently in a semi-meditative state. Well it did until I started to feel a bit sick and had to admit defeat. Five guys won’t be somewhere I’ll return to very often, I did find it quite pricey for what it was. But if I have a craving for all the calories then it’s definitely top of my guilty pleasures list.

So, pretty much the same as in the US only the fries are smaller portions. A good burger.

I eagerly awaited my visit to Five Guys, having been teased by their frontage for weeks before it actually opened. Big in America and London, I’d heard great things about their burgers & fries and could not wait to try for myself. I went not long after they opened in Silverburn, and I was surprised to see it was really quiet(and has been ever since!!). I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, ‘All the way’. ‘All the way’ is the terminology they use for having all of their free toppings. You think that FREE toppings sounds appealing, but bear in mind you’ve just paid £8.75 for the burger! The burger arrived and was actually smaller than I had expected and a bit squashed! Don’t get me wrong, it was a tasty burger… But I’d much rather have one from Bread Meats Bread or Jacker De Viande. It’s not much better than any of the other burger chains. The fries, that are cooked in Peanut Oil, were actually really good. Crispy and tasty you do get a fair sized portion and I enjoyed them. The best part is the juice machine that has so many amazing flavours such as Raspberry Fanta and Lime Cola! Far too expensive for a chain burger… I’ve paid less for a 3 course lunch than we paid in Five Guys. I wouldn’t go out my way to go back sadly.

Very decent burger. I had the large bacon cheeseburger with no shrooms and no tomato. But jalapeños and hot sauce. Portions are generous for fries and burger, it IS more expensive than your average fast food burger joint, however you can taste the difference in the quality of meat etc. The drinks with free refills are a touch, with the multiple flavour options(advertised at 250) I had raspberry coke which was… Interesting but nice, and was pleased to see Dr Pepper available: D Even the small burger looked a good portion size! I would recommend if you wanted a good feed but didn’t have time to go to a sit down meal.

It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just pricey for what you get. I went for the bacon burger with bbq sauce, grilled onions and lettuce. It was nice, but it was more fast food burger than gourmet burger. My wife had a combo to her taste and we shared a regular fries– of which there were a lot. In its favour it has refillable drinks with over 250 flavours to choose from allegedly. I tried the strawberry fanta(likes) and some fruity coke variety(likes not so much) The most irritating thing were the quotes on the wall saying how good it is.

This was my second UK(and Glasgow) Five Guys experience after four in USA a couple of years back. I think having my expectations lowered by the city centre branch let me enjoy this more. It’s still overpriced for what it is, and worst of all they don’t have the complimentary peanuts(as it’s in a foodhall apparently, nothing to do with its locale…) — but they do make damn tasty burgers and fries! Fast food style but a big cut above, you owe yourself a visit. Vegetarian options available too, including grilled cheese sandwiches.

Five Guys, I didn’t want our relationship to start this way. Let’s pretend you’re a potential beau on Tinder. You’re telling me that you’re the best burger place on the planet, the Willy Wonka of burgers. Your prices are high and I’ve got high expectations. Very high — because you told me I should have. I didn’t get Willy Wonka, I got Dynamo — a pretty lacklustre attempt at something that everyone else has already done, and better(sorry Dynamo, it’s true). So Five Guys came to Scotland and have opened a flurry of stores within a couple of months — there’ll be 3 in Glasgow once Braehead opens. Do we need more burger places? No way, but the chains arrived anyway. I visited Silverburn for a late Monday lunch/early dinner and orders a little cheeseburger, little Cajun fries and a drink which came to £10.75. Pretty damn pricey, I’m sure you’ll agree. The good: — the drinks machine and refills. — raspberry coke from the drinks machine. — Cajun fries have a lot of punch and are generally pretty good. — Toilets in store rather than having to leave to use the Silverburn ones. — some staff members — Tracey who took my order was nice and chatty, and the guy cleaning up was really nice and checked on what was wrong with my burger when I complained. The bad: — the burger. My bun(bottom half) was super doughy. So doughy I had to take it back and ask for another burger. The replacement one was only moderately better. The rest of the burger was decidedly meh. — the vibe. It feels like being in Maccas which might not be a bad thing if that’s what you like but for the prices, it should be nicer. — the other staff. I sat near a group having a management meeting who didn’t exude professionalism — shouting at staff returning from breaks and telling another staff member she couldn’t sit near them while they had a meeting. It felt a bit high school. Maccas is opening nearby soon, and I’m really not sure how Five Guys will compete. Sure, people will visit once to suss it it out, but then I doubt they’ll be back. I hope Five Guys prove me wrong.
