I took my dad here when we had a ‘Need a tux right now right now!’ moment before my wedding. Moss Bros came through in fine style. The staff were very helpful, as my dad, who hasn’t worn a tux in his entire life(even to his own wedding) had NOIDEA about anything. So they measured, and he tried on, and they brought out more things to try and different styles, until we finally found something we could agree on. Let me tell you, I have a lot of respect for any staff member who can exhibit the amount of patience with my dad that I witnessed. Well done, Moss Bros. They were also very lax about when we needed to return it. They didn’t tack on any fees for the weekend(the wedding was on a sunday), they didn’t try to put any additional charges on for anything. It was fuss-free and we were grateful. Big fan of Moss Bros. Next time I need a formal hire, I’m going there first.

I’ve hired from here thrice over the last year and have had a few mixed views on the place. One thing that remains consistent though is the fact that he service in Moss Bros is very good and professional, these people care about what they do and how they do it. The shop can be quiet though, so it can get slightly intimidating walking in and having 5 suits staring and you and enquire to your needs! But once you get up to the fitting room its all good. On two occasions now I’ve ordered a tie with my hire and on both occasion I received a cravat! You ca imagine my horror when, 5mins prior to leaving the flat I go to button my collar and tie my tie only to find this huge flappy piece of material sitting where my tie should be! Stressful to say the least. I had to go on to youtube pretty sharpish and find out how to tie one that was barely passable! I can forgive a mistake like this once, but twice is a bit of a joke! Can be quite pricey in here too so I would recommend shopping around for a better price as Steven suggested. Good product though and top notch service, but I won’t be going back. At least I can no tie a cracking cravat!

A great place for menswear, with a really good formalwear section upstairs. I went recently for a wedding with the specific tartan Grey Spirit to be worn by the lads which without exception is my favourite tartan. Due to some bizarre copyright reasons however, in that Grey Spirit isn’t a clan tartan, it is more expensive. That goes for everywhere though, so it wasn’t any more or less expensive in here. The fitting for hire was thorough and hassle-free. A doddle. It’s clean and well presented inside with well-dressed and knowledgeable staff. It is a bit cramped inside as compared to Slaters for e.g. and some of the shirts for e.g. are a bit over-priced. A really good menswear store that I would recommend as an option for kilt hire. If it is kilt hire you are after though, shop around. There are half a dozen places in the City Centre with competitive pricing ongoing.
