Usually I would have given a place like this a 5, but when you walk in, and ask one of the young lads. «Do you have any cold drinks in a fridge» he never even looked at me and said Nuhhhh! I decided to not shop there. Not just for that, but, why no fridge?
Anyways. As a shop, it remembers me of home bargain in Liverpool, and the pound world there, as they had a huge cardboard police man in the window lol. The way out was similar too. It looks a really jam packed shop. I like Pound World as we had a massive almost super size one in Liverpool.
They are always great for cat and dog stuff. Take a look, and maybe that young guy won’t be on shift.

The cat is out of the bag! Or should I say, the dog is off the leash? No, I’ve not lost my marbles — I recently went on a shopping expedition to Pound World which involved buying 60+ dog chains for Unilocal’s Gallery of Glasgow. Now that you’ve all seen the frames up on the walls, I can reveal the magic behind it, being dog chains attached to the overhead beams at Ubiquitous Chip. Thanks to Drew from The Virginia Gallery for the inspired idea.
So, onto Pound World. There are two widths of dog chain — 2.5mm and 3.5mm and they don’t sort them out, you will have to rummage through the display yourself. They have handy shopping basket that you can wheel around though, which makes it relatively easy to get them to the counter. The check-​out staff won’t bother counting how many you buy (especially if you’ve managed to get them all tangled up in the process) which I think shows a good amount of trust in their customers. Maybe I just look trustworthy.
Why only 3 stars? Well, on my first trip I purchased every 2.5mm chain they had. I asked the check-​out guy whether they could order more in for me. He buzzed over the manager who quite rude and just grunted «no» and walked off. Thankfully the check-​out staff are polite at least, and the guy serving suggested they would be re-​stocked within a few days. If he hadn’t mentioned that I would have been off to their other store in the Forge to buy them from there.
