So why am I reviewing a pound shop you might ask? Well because they’re fab for a bargain and I do like a bargain. This one is always pretty well stocked and organised, and has an assortment of food, household, seasonal and toiletries all for the bargain price of a £! I regularly pick up some great deals on branded sweets and cereals — way cheaper than you’d find in the supermarkets. With Christmas approaching they also stock a great selection of cheap yet highly festive and slightly tacky Christmas decorations that could do the job for many occasion. I picked up some Christmas crafting things which are a lot cheaper than I’ve seen elsewhere. Long live the pound shop!

Like it says in its name, this is a little land where everything costs a pound. And it’s a very random assortment of items here — and quite a lot of brand names too, especially regarding toiletries and biscuits etc But the main charm of poundland is that it’s the best place to go for either a weird household thing, or just some random tat. My best buys recently : A headphone splitter Plastic adhesive hooks to hang dressing gowns Felt pads for putting on coasters Love it!

This is my favourite Poundland. I was not happy when the girl told me they were told by the manager not to order Twinkies. Me being the person who was buying 2 packets every day that equals 4 twinkies. I don’t know what to do now:(the girls must have thought it was funny as was asking every day if they got them in.

FRUSTRATION! Now, ask ANY of my pals-I LOVE a pound shop! Like, waaaaay more than I should, but this one is NOT getting the love! It’s ALWAYS mobbed, staff tend not to be too terribly helpful(apart from one guy!!!) and they have NO consistency in their offerings. One day they’ll have something that makes you think«ooooh, I’ll get that for tomorrow’s lunch…» then when you go for lunch, it’s gone, none in the back and no one knows when/if it’ll be back in. I do realise this is because pound shops get what they can when they can etc. but it reeeeeally frustrates me, as I’m in there at least weekly! The ONLY reason this is as high a score as three is because I managed to buy ALL my baking accoutrements in there, for a quid each, obv! So, TOTALBARGAIN!

About similar size to the argile/union st store. Though I have to say that I’m quite into the curry/hot’n’spicey noodle pots that they ocashionally have in. but as you would expect in these hard up times where every penny counts(or should I say pound) its a good place to go for toletrys, some of the weekly shop.
