The van is always parked next to Sainbury Local – it’s more of a wee trailer than a van to be fair. I love crepes but truth be told I always get one of the same two crepes – either nutella(breakfast time) or Hawaiian – ham, pineapple and cheese. The crepes aren’t fancy but they are delicious. I’ve tried making crepes at home and while I can manage the flip they are nowhere near as nice!

Lovely staff and more importantly amazing crêpe. Been ages since I’ve had a crêpe a croissant crêpe and this tasty offering did not disappoint. A wee blether while I waited and before I knew it I was at home munching away on a treat of crêpe.

We have popped in to the van(trailer really) many a time, after gigs at the SECC or on the way back from the airport or just when in the area. They have a wide range of crepes, hot and cold sandwiches, drinks and soups which have never disappointed. Always a firm favourite and one of those hidden treats of Glasgow.

I drove into Glasgow and wanted to grab a simple meal and settle in at the hotel since it was late in the evening. I took a stroll over and was thoroughly impressed. The gentleman working was very friendly and we chatted as he prepared a tasty bacon cheddar panini and a Nutella crêpe. It started drizzling as I walked back, this meal hit the spot nicely. I’ll likely stop by again before I fly back :)

Just found out that this place has only been taken over by new management late last year.

I used to go here a lot. Couple times a week when I would walk down from the Glasgow Uni gym back to work. There was something about the lentil soup and thick cut sandwiches. Occasionally the wife and I would get the crepes. Don’t ask me what it is, but a trailer next to a gas station screams the possibility of great food. Maybe I am the only one. Normally I avoid these facilities, especially the burger variety on the way to football matches. But if these were situated along the way to my favourite pitch, I could have been sitting down with my ham and cheese crêpe while watching the match. As it is, you need to get yourself near Argyle Street to enjoy the lovely stuff served by these guys.

If you are in a rush and fancy something a bit different, or just want a hot or cold light bite, this is the place. For what it is, you can’t go wrong.

What you need to know: the van is open on weekend nights until 4am! It’s my destination after a big night out and when I want to avoid the chippy. Similar to it’s other outlets across Glasgow, the van has the similar offerings of baguettes, paninis, croissants, sweet & savoury crepes, thick cut sandwiches, smoothies, coffees and teas. Lumberjack and I go for the perfect pesto(chicken with emmental), and radical roast(sliced roast beef with mustard and emmental) crepes. For both crepes it’s around £7. It’s an absolute godsend at 3am. They are package in these nifty cardboard boxes, which can be unfolded into a plate. The plastic cutlery included is crap and useless… so you’re better off being messy and using your hands in an undignified manner once they’ve cooled off a bit. Mmm… crêpe! Tip: for normal people hours(Monday through Friday), you can use the Snapfax for 2−4−1 crepes! Score!

Maybe, I’m a simple girl. Maybe, the cute, non-Glasgow feel of this van is what does it. Maybe, it’s the chance to have a sandwich, cake AND a chocolate and banana crêpe for lunch. Maybe, it’s because I’m often stomping along past in the rain on the way to walk. Whatever, the reason, I’m very fond of this little place and have had many a munch from it. Admittedly, it is a little on the pricey side. However, if you’re having one of those days and decide to treat yourself with some comfort food then this has got to be one of the top places to get it from. The proof in the pudding is that it’s been here for sometime and is still going strong. Oh, go on, you’re worth it ;-)

The saving grace of this Crêpe A Croissant is the fact it is based in a van. Very parisian and cute, and thus has a novelty value that doesn’t wear off as quickly as the other chain locations — as there’s more character to it. Sorry Lewis, but I’d have to disagree and advise people to beware, the sandwiches are made with cheap baguettes and, like the other branches, are manky…

situated in the forecourt of the sainsbuy’s garage on woodlands road, this little trailer dispenses all manner of crepey goodnessthe tuna with garlic and herbs, in particular, is dangerously moreish! or the chocolate and bananai could go on they open late(i.e. 3am or so) at the weekends, so it’s a good shout for some drunken nibbles as you drunkenly stagger home from the city centre of an evening.
