You have to go through The Lane and then up some stairs that could make you feel like your going to a storage unit and just when you are almost doubting you went the right way you walk thought some doors and enter in The Research Club! What a great little find!, Granted The Lane is cool, spacious and with a great vibe, The Research Club gives off more of welcoming vibe! The bartenders where cool and friendly, and fun to talk with. After checking out the drinks, I went with Raspberry Lemonade, and let me tell you that drink was delish! It was Ketel One Vodka, Raspberries, Fresh Lemon Juice, Sugar, Pink Lemonade & Drygate Lager and for just £6.25, at home I would have paid almost double this. It was a good time at The Research Club, hope to be back next time I’m in town!

Fearful of the Halloween crowds in Ashton Lane, we weren’t quite sure if we’d even get in to this bar, in the, I believe fairly recently renovated, Nude/Radio venue, but the crowds hasn’t descended there, thankfully. It’s look is quite laboratory come bar, with low lighting and booths hiding behind cages. The floating bar(meaning in the centre of the room. Not literally floating ;p) allows for seating around it, and there are some tables along the wall. It offers full bar range of spirits, craft ales, wine and cocktails. There didn’t seem to be many menus knocking about, considering the small number of patrons but when tracked one down and inspected the range there were one or 2 exciting possibilities. Their range isn’t huge, and is a little more pricy than it’s, very similar looking, but on a much larger scale, neighbour The Bookclub, but still worth a wee treat. Staff seemed to know their stuff, and really my only negative is the lighting. It was a bit dark to even read the menu. I’ll be back to sample their £10 bottle of wine I’ve read about!
