Dily’s Deli is a simple sandwich shop that doesn’t try to masquerade itself as something that it isn’t. So many sandwich shops seem to try and delve into the more refined foods and fail due to lack of quality and, I guess, experience. This Deli provides simple yet tasty sandwiches at a small cost. They have hot or cold sandwiches and a selection of sauces and other bits you’d expect to find at a Deli. The sandwiches are made fresh in front of you and the staff are very friendly and chatty whilst they serve you.

In a pinch, if you find yourself desperate for lunch on a tight budget, this little shop is great. It may not have the wide selection of posh nosh that near-by proprietors offer, or the sterile reliable packaging of the local Co-op, but it has heart and simplicity and honest decent prices. The staff are friendly and warm, making the sandwich right in front of you, and provide a swift and simple service. All standard areas of sandwich are covered — chicken tikka, ham, cheese and so on, with salad(although I was surprised to find this included a hard boiled egg!) and for your sins they will prep up a deliciously bad breakfast sarnie of bacon, egg, sausage etc, at little cost. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the more refined vegetarian would find satisfaction, but if you are on a budget and want something simple, then this shop is the place for you.
