Pretty much all you can eat for a tenner. An unbelievable deal. You’ve got a lot to choose from; Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, English and an array of puddings and salads. I tried the Indian dishes mainly with beet root salad. The Eton Mess was delicious. There was also some kind of pear chocolate soufflé type cake that was really good as well. Red Hot gets very busy it seems regardless of time of day and has attentive wait staff. It’s in the city centre across from PC World so good if you want variety. We visited for lunch at £10 all you can eat with a separate charge for drinks. You also have a choice of mixed drinks, beers, tea, coffee, etc. There’s lot to choose from and while it’s good it’s not somewhere I’d want to go a lot but it’s worth a go for lunch. Will visit again sometime.

I visited this restaurant the other day while I was in Leeds for the day. I used to go to the Cosmo restaurant but it’s closed down due to flood damage caused by a burst water pipe. However I wasn’t impressed with the Red Hot World Buffet, there was a good selection of food, but there was hardly any taste to it. E.g. the four cheese sauce served with the pasta tasted very bland(like milk)? It was the same with all the food I tried.

D’ya know what? It was completely ‘5/10 one thumbs up with a small smile’ and I’m quite happy with that. A HUGE choice of dishes with a wide variety of cultural references all served in a mahoosive canteen that seats approximately 1 – 2 million people. It’s loud, super busy, mega crowded and there’s no feeling of being in any way personally significant whatsoever BUT this is the Super Epic Mega Mart of buffet dining and what else would one expect? As previously mentioned I am gifted, beneath this mild mannered exterior(cough cough) with 4 whole stomachs so I very contentedly munched away on plate after plate of tasty nibbles, sushi, curry, chinese, mexican and puddy puddy puddings. I drew the line at adding a roast dinner to that as it seemed an horrific thing to do to your body at a giant buffet, but those people I did see receiving slab after slab of roast beef and gravy seemed very happy with it. A surprisingly adequate £14 house red and thoroughly indecent amount of food later we hauled ourselves onto the number 50 and deep breathed all the way home. This is not a venue for romance but if you have 5 hungry friends and want to test your pancreas to breaking point then by all means dive in, you wont be disappointed :)

I visited this place a few years back(in 2011), so this review is purely based on that experience. Ever since I had a fantastic buffet in a 5 star hotel in Hong Kong, I’ve wanted to go to another world buffet but in the UK. Now it is unfair to compare a buffet costing nearly £30 per head to one significantly cheaper, but surely Red Hot could do decent food still. Upon arriving for the dinner session, it’s always promising to see a queue to a restaurant — meaning its popular! The restaurant is nicely decorated, although abit on the dark side and we were seated fairly close to where the fun happens. Firstly, the food was aplenty and the starters were definitely my favourite. There was lots of variety and everything was set up very nicely. The main courses were definitely the WORST I have ever experience. The Chinese dishes were sickly — it tasted like something out of a Sharwoods jar. The pizza was ok. My chicken and noodles were ok. Chicken wings had the consistency of being cooked and left in the tray for hours. Dry. The spaghetti bolognese was ok. After a main course disaster, there was one thing that I noticed. The majority of the cooks in the kitchen weren’t «authentic». I say this because you NEED a native to be cooking a certain cuisine. So an Italian chef cooking the Italian food etc. I think you get my drift. Otherwise the food is sub standard. I had a non-chinese chef(who was rude!) cook my CHINESE noodles and chicken. Now I don’t need to be a food critic to tell you that that’s a recipe for disaster. I am not a racist, and I am all for people to live in harmony but to get the best out of your food, you need the right person to cook it. I’m going to visit again, as alot can change in 2 years and I will give them another chance, but my 2011 experience was below average. It has the foundation of a brilliant restaurant, but please hire the right chefs for the love of g*d! Amen.

This was my 2nd visit and I was expecting good service and pleasant food, much the same as the last time I went. It was very busy on the Thursday night I went, but it was the start on the Bank Holiday Easter Weekend. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to become available. So we bought a couple of beers. We were seated in between 2 huge groups of people directly behind a support column. The noise was very distracting and as I wear hearing aids any sort of conversation was almost impossible. I had a little bit of everything and because it was so busy the food was fresh. I had to ask twice for plates to be cleared as the table was tiny and the staff seemed too engrossed in talking to each other. With hind site this wasn’t the best place to go as I was catching up with a friend. The staff are pleasant(when they were available) and the food was ok but far too loud and I thought we were just queezed in. After drinks it was around £30 each and it just isn’t worth that for what it is. I am afraid that the Red Hot Buffet is not for me.

Hmm OK think Quantity for the quid, instead of quality… I hate and don’t get the bloody Snakes on a Plane entrance to the dinning hall. Red Hot’s is good for works Christmas dinners… unless you’re wearing a hard plastic crown and some weirdo starts talking all medieval to you(2011) or getting weird looks as you’re wearing a Christmas jumper on 4th of December(2012). I tend to avoid Red Hot World Buffet as they pizza served isn’t very good but lots jelly for desert.

My first visit here was quite some time ago and i didn’t no like it but it failed to exactly wine me over so when my friend suggested we meet for Monday night T, i agreed halfheartedly. The restaurant was quiet when we went in(6.20pm) and we were seated right away. Our waiter said he’d be looking after us and even wrote his name on my friends place mat. We ordered a soda & lime & a lemonade which came fairly quickly– other than that– we didn’t see him again! The food is well presented into its various sections but that I’m afraid is where I lost interest. The ‘salad’ bar was very samey, the ‘Indian’ station wasn’t manned, the pizza/pasta section has a queue, the server on the tepenyaki section barely understood english an the desserts were all a bit of a let down. This is a total breakdown of what I tried– Artichoke salad(nasty taste of burned onion) Tomato & mozzarella salad(had clearly been left there a while as the tomato slices were dry!) Mexican salad(mostly white cabbage & a very acidic dressing) Olives(ok quality) Vege spring rolls(almost cold) Chicken & veg dim sum(hardly able to differentiate which was which & the outside was slimy) Crispy chicken(never seen ‘crispy’ in its life!) Sushi(fell apart as soon as I put my fork in) Quesedilla(was pleasant enough) Pepperoni & chicken tikka pizza(all dough, a very tart to

What a shame about this place — after showing such promise when it first opened! I was there for the opening evening and it created such a thrill for myself & the whole group of people I was with, and not just because it was free! The place had such a unique look & feel about it, loved the different feel of the seating areas and the food quality, choice and presentation was top notch! Unfortunately I heard repeated bad stories from friends & colleagues about the standards & choices that it actually took me a while to head back there, so it’s only been in the last few months that I’ve been back and tried it again. Obviously the unique look of the place is still there, but you don’t get any choice where you want to sit — you’re herded into a specific area that they choose for you. I don’t know if I’ve just hit at a bad time, but they’ve actually stated to me a time that I have to leave by(I don’t know if I should take offense at this as they may be casting judgement at my being a little big boned!!). There’s still a good range of food, but it seems more slapdash that properly presented. apart from the desserts & ice creams, which I have no complaints about! All in all, it’s not like I’m going to totally avoid the place, its a buffet with multiple choices, but then it’s also not the only choice in town either.
