Friday’s Bar sits inside the lavish Adelphi Hotel, something that ultimately is a detriment to it. Striding through the sumptuous hotel entrance hall makes you feel like a foreign ambassador or Bond, an illusion that dies a strangulated death when you push open the door into this inexplicably unattractive drinkery. With its huge diagonal bar serving the same few drinks from repeated taps and its curious array of partitions, pulpits, cages and chairs where your feet don’t reach the ground, it feels cluttered and confused. This is a shame because the hotel deserves it to be much better. Pull your finger out Adelphi.

Located below The Adelphi Hotel this is a cool place to meet whether it’s a group or a more intimate occassion. They play decent music without blasting it out and have a great range of drinks from cocktails through to a decent pint. It’s not over the top in any way but has a brilliant ambience whether you or just calling for a quick drink or lingering to enjoy the surroundings. The service is good and the staff pleasant so if you’re in Liverpool it’s worth a visit.
