Oh my goodness! This place is amazing. They have one of the best Vegan menus in Liverpool. The food is so fresh and tasteful. Let’s not forget the Long Island iced tea! Yep perfection in a glass. Makes your legs wobbly but what the heck. From the coconut butternut squash curry, the sizzling mushroom platter the guacamole and bread and olive oil dip. Absolute heaven. Try the coconut dessert. You will not be disappointed. We will Return to try the rest we didn’t. Enjoy.

I feel a little lousy reviewing this restaurant following my experience with our office party(of 12) on Black Friday but here goes anyway … At the risk of sounding like a lush the 2 for 1 cocktails til 7.30pm could have been a little stronger — however after finishing our 4th Pitcher I was quite pleased they seemed to contain more ice than alcohol ! The service was terribly slow, Starter arrives at 7.40, Pudding arrives at 10.30 ! in-between several Mains had to be returned to the kitchen as they were almost cold, when the puddings arrived those who ordered the trifle were disappointed to find the cream was«off», a fact denied by the kitchen who insisted it was fresh, however both the taste & smell argued against that … in fairness the staff soon apologised and offered us more complimentary drinks or money off the final bill, we chose Option B ! On the positive side the Bar Staff were extremely efficient, the Waiters were attentive, friendly & helpful. The atmosphere was lively and fun and our table was perfectly located upstairs where we enjoyed a wonderful view over Liverpool One as heavy snowfall arrived which made our evening feel extremely Snowy & Christmassy — Perfect ! I suppose Iguanas was full to the brim with office parties etc, I’m sure the kitchen may have felt overwhelmed and as a result quality suffered. The lively night didn’t overwhelm the front of house staff who seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere along with everyone else. In order to give Iguanas the benefit of the doubt I would revisit, however I wouldn’t rush back, my next visit would be during a less busy time for them. I would recommend to a Friend however I would suggest they don’t expect anything fancy.

Before I begin to tell you about the food and the service, I should declare an important detail. I nearly left with an injury as a result of the restaurant’s produce. Las Iguanas has proved popular with visitors to Liverpool One and it helps that it offers a lunch menu that doesn’t cost the world. As one of those people enticed by the hard to refuse deal, I was enjoying a delicious meal when a waiter drops a plate halfway across the restaurant and the meeting of fate and GCSE Physics means hot chilli sauce is racing towards my eye as turned around to see what had happened. Do I really need to tell you how this situation ended? Don’t be put off by this tale of chilli misfortune. Indeed, we ended up with a waiter overdoing the niceties and wonderful food which cost under £10 per person including starters, main and a glass of wine. Furthermore, despite the fact it is always fairly busy, its very rare to wait too long for a table if you have not booked. Besides, once you’re in, the atmosphere makes it a nice place to be and relax with friends before sitting down for lunch. Just be careful not to turn around at the wrong time!

Craving a bit of Latin American rum and rhythm? Las Iguanas is an independent chain that aims to create a vibrant party atmosphere in every one of their restaurants. Set in the slick Liverpool ONE complex, this branch has a bustling vibe, quirky décor and hip-shaking music. It also has a great happy hour(12.00−19.30pm Mon-Fri) with a good cocktail list including mojitos, margharitas, daiquiris and caiprinhas made with my favourite cachaca, crushed ice, sugar and muddled lime. Menu wise, I’ve only sampled the nachos and enchiladas but have to say, they were both surprisingly fresh and flavoursome. Rumour has it that Las Iguanas will be unveiling a new autumn menu with more Latin and Brazillian street food soon — so I’m looking forward to going back and sampling some of the moquecas and other dishes. Alongside more caiprinhas obviously!

I generally try not to give low scores to businesses but on this occasion, I feel I really have to. Many of my fellow Unilocalers seem to love Las Iguanas but I’m afraid my experience was not quite as pleasurable. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I decided to visit Las Iguanas for lunch as there was a good offer on(I can’t recall it properly, but it was something like a 2-for-1 lunch menu). As we entered, we were promptly sat down and ordered drinks, which arrived fairly quickly(nothing wrong with the service, that’s for sure). I decided to order the enchiladas whilst my girlfriend, who wasn’t that hungry, ordered a salad. We waited a short period of time before out dishes arrived, but here is where the problems arrived. My enchiladas were okay — I got two on a plate, but they were quite small and there was nothing else served with them, just two enchiladas on a plate. So, not great but it was pretty cheap so I couldn’t really get too annoyed about it. However when my girlfriend’s salad arrived, we were shocked to see her ‘salad’ consisted of ripped lettuce in a pasta dish, with a small amount of dressing. Nothing else in there and the lettuce didn’t exactly look fresh, either. She ate half of it and left the rest, unsurprisingly, whilst I finished my enchiladas, which tasted about as average as they looked. We left shortly after and the meal was enough to put us off for a long time yet, I’m afraid. Perhaps our experience was a one off, but I think I’ll leave it just in case.

Las Iguanas is a place full of Latin American flair and passion and most of all this place is a whole heap of fun and relaxation. This establishment really tries to infect its customers with flair and passion and having visited this establishment on numerous occasions I can safely say that they have succeeded in their aim. The variety here is brilliant with so many South American dishes to choose from that your only complaint will be that it took too long to decide what to eat. This variety filters into the drinks side of things also and means this place lives up to its tag line ‘Eat Latin, Drink Latin’. The staff are great here and they help to enhance a really wonderful ambience which infects you as soon as you walk through the doors. To summarise this place achieves its every goal and has firmly established itself as one of my favourite places to eat and drink in the whole of Liverpool.

Did someone say two for one cocktails? It was Las Iguanas, if you missed it, my friend.(Sunday and Monday 12 – 7.30pm) You need to get here on a hot day, bask in the sun on the outdoor seating with a long island ice tea, or if you’re hankering for something a little more refreshing, they have a blissful range of non-alcholic versions, we chose two cool, tall Virgin Fizz’s for £2.50(Cranberry, elderflower & lemon juices, topped with lemonade) Nothing beats it. They also have an amazing selection of tapas(3 dishes for £12.60!) Try the calamares, the gambas and the smoked pork and garlic chorizo. It’s beautiful! The best Tapas in town and a great accompaniment to some orgasmical cocktails!

If you like to feast on Latin American cuisine, Las Iguanas offers a generous menu from lunch time onwards. On my first visit to this glitzy looking restaurant, I was attracted to their lunch deal as sign posted outside which was apparently £6.90 for a starter, main and drink but when I got my bill, it ended up £8.90 with the extra £2 going towards my drink and starter; it was quite misleading and not obvious. However, I do applaud the food which was of great quality. The starter consisting of a spicy chicken filled enchilada was minimal but the main course of spiced ½ pound burger, salad and fries was enough to fill my stomach so I did not have room for desserts(maybe next time when I shall prepare to build up more hunger)! I was pleased with the service and timing when I received my dishes; the food was served hot and tasted fresh. Las Iguanas is a little expensive. If you’re looking for a bit of South American treat though, Las Iguanas is a decent choice.

Las Iguanas has a great tapas menu which is starting to challenge famous tapas chains such as La Tasca. I’ve been here a few times and never personally had a problem, however my partner ordered a burger which was raw on the inside. She told the waiter who sent it back, then the manager came over to apologise and offer another meal, when she refused he wiped the charge off the bill. Very kind of him. The service is pretty good as I’ve said, but it does get very very busy so expect to have a bit of a wait at the weekend. However, the wait isn’t too bad because there’s a nice little bar where you can sit and down a few cocktails.

The last place you may have thought to go for a cheap cocktail is Liverpool One nonetheless, one bar/restaurant stands out from the rest. Las Iguanas happy hour is from 12 — 7pm daily and makes the rather pricey cocktails quite affordable as a selection of them become buy one get one free. The cocktails are from between £4.70 to £5.50 for the cocktails on offer, there are a few more expensive than this but the selection available are good enough not to warrant the extra spend. My favourite is the Cherry Fizz, Cherry brandy, Gin, Elderflower and Cranberry juice expertly prepared by one of the resident barmen/woman who have been well trained to mix the drinks to perfection. An afternoon in the sun on the Liverpool terrace with some cocktails is an afternoon well spent. If you’re looking for something more substantial, then the tapas at Las iguanas is fantastic. 5 dishes for £20 is great between two and whilst more expensive than a meal elsewhere in Liverpool, the quality of the dishes more than makes up for it. Definitely order the Chorizo as one of the dishes its one of my favourites! Las iguanas is definitely one of the best places to eat out in Liverpool one. It may be a bit towards the expensive end of the market, but you definitely get what you have paid for making it well worth the extra cash!

This is my favourite Tapas restaurant in Liverpool. This place has everything from fantastic value to great service and a fine selection of cocktails and drinks. They have an extensive range of Latin American Tapas dishes as well as a selection of main courses for those with a bigger appetite They offer five Tapas dishes for £20 at selected times and this is usually enough for two if you get a garlic bread or some nachos on the side. The food always comes quickly, is well presented and tastes great. I would recommend the salmon, prawn and orange salad, the meatballs, the mussels, the lamp parcels and the nachos. All of which are mouth-watering. They have a great post dinner liqueur coffee menu as well as a range of sugar cane rums aged across various years, these slip down a treat! I’ve eaten here five times now and have been satisfied every time!

Starting in a quiet Bristol street, Las Iguanas has taken off and now there are 22 restaurants in the UK. Specialising in freshly cooked latino food, this is one restaurant that stands out from the mediocre Mediterranean style. OMG the menu is ridiculous — there is just too much to choose from! I went for tapas as I thought it would be quite small and manageable, but I was deceived, and then left with the choice of whether to leave it and deal with dessert or not. In the end, I had to finish as much as I could without exploding and then wait a while for the digestive juices to kick in. And then look at the desserts. Tapas is 3 dishes for £12.60, which is practically the alternative to a main meal, although there is a great early bird menu which is cheap as chips. For dessert I had the mango and passionfruit cheesecake, which I managed to cram into my already groaning belly. I just had to remind myself to do up my pants before I stood up, although I would have suffered the embarrassment because the food was so delicious! The service is good too — the staff are pleasant and friendly and you can just go in and sit at the bar if you want, which is sometimes fun as all the glass-fronted restaurants on this side of Liverpool One give you a great opportunity to people watch. The drinks menu is quite impressive too, and they even cater for kids, so whether you’re a wino with an appetite or a 6-year-old pest, you’ll be looked after. All I need now is someone to accompany me so I can start working my way through that menu…
