The food is well presented with good sized portions at reasonable prices, there were some samples on the counter of the pastries they had too and they brought us small samples of hot chocolate to our table. The thick style chocolate is more like melted chocolate, it is very tasty and thick not sure if I could drink a whole one. The staff were friendly and the store is of a good size with lots of tables available inside and a few out the front. Bright and cheerful with music playing a good place to enjoy breakfast in the morning.

I’m writing this because not everyone know about this great little place. It’s hidden well but is definitely worth it to visit. The coffee is not from some fancy commercial chain but is delicious anyway. Also, the cakes they serve are perfect for sweetening your day.

The coffee shop is on my way to work and it’s very convenient for me to stop by. The service is fast and the coffee is good enough for my taste. I also like making appointments here since the location is nice and the tables are comfortable for a private chat.

My visit there was overall a bit disappointing. The panini called Nice was ok, but nothing special to remember. The ice tea blend just was not my cup of tea. This place looks nice and interesting, but for a refreshing drink, a coffee, or something to eat I think there are much better and nicer places around(like Kaffeine, Scandinavian Kitchen, and many more …). Perhaps I should go there again and try something different …

First the good bits: 1) Really yummy Mexican Baguette, with char-grilled chicken and guacamole 2) Great Pain au Chocolat with Pear Then the reasons why I only go here if I’m in a hurry: 1) Painfully slow service, the idea of having to wait 5 minutes after having paid for my ready made sandwich to be bagged with my coke and handed to me is ridiculous. Worse, is waiting 10 mins for 3 coffee’s, of which the first 4 mins there was nobody else waiting and nobody even looking into making the coffee. 2) Their silly loyalty card, apparently 3 coffees in one transaction is one stamp but 3 coffees in 3 transactions is 3 stamps. Though this might sounds like a minor point, if you like me spend £50 on coffee a month and often buy large rounds, this is a significant differentiator particularly as their competitors(nearby) all stamp per drink(ex. Starbucks who don’t do loyalty cards) So go for the food, not the service or loyalty cards…

The wifi wasn’t working, although they do normally claim to have one. On the other hand, the pastries are quite nice and the coffee was to my surprise next to perfection. The Apostrophe cafes in general are good, when it comes to coffee, but a bit unreliable. Occasionally, such as at the one near Picadilly circus, they do not maintain the same standard.

Can only really agree with the general views expressed here. I used to frequent the one on Grosvenor Street regularly a year or so ago. Then it seemed a useful and almost cool place — good value and well run. But in the context of Market Place and the proximity to Soho, I don’t feel Apostrophe offers anything that isn’t done better somewhere else.

Did I like it? I’m not sure really. Ok, probably not thinking back. The sandwich I had was far from great. It involved a bit of salami and cheese and rocket, or maybe that’s what I was a little annoyed about, the lack of cheese– I don’t remember. I do remember the salami was kind of sweaty though. So I guess I’m best saying it was rather uneventful and well, forgetful. I do remember being startled by the lack of choice the and the prices but lunch was on a friend so even that didn’t register all that much. And I’m not the greatest fan of pink neither. Definitely cool that they offer an hour of free wi-fi when you buy a drink but doesn’t everywhere these days. Hmm not convinced I’ll be back.

Yep, would have to agree with the majority here. A couple of years ago, Apostrophe was a very useful place to know: great hot chocolate, killer macaroons and free wi-fi. On recent visits the wi-fi’s not worked at all at the Lower Regent St one while the Market Place one appears to be so weak, you get a stronger signal from the pub opposite. These days, I just go to the pub

This is one of my off peak haunts, and is most definitely better if you sample its charms outside the lunch hour(12 – 2). Apostrophe GCS(as it’s known on the free wi-fi) is round the back of Oxford St and does a roaring trade in yummy fresh french fancies such as flaky croissants, coquettish cakes and my new favourite, pain au chocolat filled with sliced pears and toasted in a panini toaster. The long wooden tables are laptop-friendly, although the wooden stools are not derrière-friendly, this is no place to spend the whole day, unless you’re OK with parts of you going numb when you check your email for 2 hours. I will certainly return(perhaps with a cushion in my bag) as the mere act of typing pain au chocolat filled with sliced pears has triggered yet another unreasonable craving. Pain au chocolat/Pear thing: £2.30 Latte: around £2.00

Market Place is a great location for anything — the square is a sort-of safe haven from the madness of Oxford Circus. If you’re looking for coffee and a cake or luxury sandwich while you shop shop shop then I implore you to seek this out. Like all Apostrophe’s — it looks fancy, the food is over-the-top expensive for adjectivified-food(think M&S descriptions) but it is lovely and light inside with a modern chic and decent drinks. Two things pull me to this Apostrophe: Outdoor seating by Market Place Free WiFi Sadly the wifi router is incredibly patchy and regularly needs restarting. In the end, trying to use the wifi here becomes a horrible chore of visits to the counter every 5 minutes to ask ‘what happened?’ Rarely the staff know what to do. Cafes should have in-house tech support, me thinks.

Apostrophe has been a welcome addition to London very good coffee and decent boulangerie/patisserie snacks and all from a chain. For me Starbucks does not serve coffee so when not near a proper café like Monmouth or the few one of Italians who show some respect to their heritage(rather than focusing on profit margins by serving awful cheap coffee at inflated prices) I would go for Café Nero or Costa but it now seems that Apostrophe is top of the chains — hope they can keep the quality up as they expand ! Another thing to note is that this particular branch is less than 200 yards from Qype’s new London offices where I Mr Green bought me a double machiato — thank you sir !

Apostrophe is a nice French style café, in a great location near St Christopher’s square. It’s a nice place to meet up with friends and have a chat, and, unlike other cafes in the area, it isn’t totally overrun. There are a nice selection of baguettes and the chocolate brownies and cookies are definitely worth a look. I’ve been to some of the other Apostrophes and they are smaller; this one has lots of room. They also lay on free jugs of tap water with lemon and mint, which is a nice touch. It’s worth noting that if you have an Evening Standard Eros card, you can get a free croissant with every coffee that you buy.

Just a two or three minute walk from Oxford Circus station, Apostrophe doesn’t have an in– your-face menu, having in its place a delightful frontal canteen-type display with all kinds of healthier food options. The focus is placed on what you see is what you get, which is an absolute pleasure in Apostrophe considering their large range of exotic gourmet sandwiches and freshly baked foods. Their dessert section looks so good I almost skipped breakfast and booked an appointment with my dentist. The clean, large design of Apostrophe will appeal to anyone who is tired of being cramped up in a small office or just wants to get away from the hectic hustle and bustle. I saw one or two meetings being held, two creative people having an informal brainstorming session and friends just chatting the morning away. I chose a ‘Paris’ gourmet sandwich consisting of avocado, rocket, tomato, mayo, parmesan, sat down outside on a pink or black chair(black was my choice) and pondered the plight of the breadcrumbs I flicked to the birds.

Nice café but really is often too crowded to be fun. The staff have mostly been miserable when I’ve gone in and the coffee isn’t quite to my taste to I end up across at Carluccios more often than not. The seating is on long tables with long benches but high up. It can be enjoyable in the summer when you can sit outside but so can the other cafes in the area. A firm meh from me.

Love this little place — it’s my home away from home, my lunchtime retreat, my coffee parlour, my gossip haunt. Not only do they serve a great capp they also make you feel more than loved by swirling a charming heart into the foam. Well, it makes me smile. This branch of the burgeoning French coffee shop chain gets busy busy, but the crowd ebbs and flows so you can usually grab a couple of seats. The sandwiches are probably less than low-cal, filled as they are with giant slabs of cheese and other fine ingredients; sweetly named after great French cities or regions it’s fun to order Paris or Lyon — the only downside being the price often seems comparable to a one-way Eurostar ticket same applies to salads. There’s free Wi-fi here and plenty of maccers who take full advantage, plus jugs of minty lemony water, foam hearts and my fave oatmeal cookies. What more could a girl want from a Wednesday lunchtime? Perhaps the presence of a couple of W1 worker pals to join in the fun!

This little continental café has brought us all the charm of foreign lands. It is nicely hidden away behind Topshop and Miss Selfridge, so is a good place to relax. The cakes are my favorite and although being slightly pricey they are big enough to share. I like to buy a small coffee and sit outside and watch the world go by. It’s a truly lovely place to spend a little time.

Although a franchise, forgive me it involves sweets so it has to be mentioned! A little pricey but so worth it and you can also get free wireless for an hour when you buy a drink. Not only do they have delicious pastries escargot and pain au chocolate but healthy filled bagels, baguettes and rolls. Enjoy coffee, hot chocolate or a pot of tea. This particular Apostrophe is on a little side street off of Oxford St, the perfect place to relax half way through shopping, away from the crowds.
