A slightly higher calibre of takeaway food. I think this is Persian with some influence form other Middle eastern countries. The saffron chicken is amazing order it with bulger wheat,

I always seem to give Aran Caterers a go at lunch when I’m in the mood for something different but I always come away disappointed. On the face of it, I should like Arans as it serves huge portions of hot food, but the the portion size is its downfall as I’m always left with one third of what I ordered. My last meal here was the pasta bolognaise but I found the sauce a bit too watery. I’ll probably give Aran another go in a few months time and hope for better luck with what I choose.

Unilocal keeps telling me that i have checked into Aran on way too occasions and its high time i review it. Aran is a sandwich shop near the London Wall — Bishopsgate intersection, and is one of my favourite breakfast places in the area. It serves a variety of different sandwiches and paninis. You can get heavy meat dishes(and they do have a couple of chairs for you to sit and enjoy them) or opt for a quick sandwich to take away, as i(and most others) usually do. My favourite breakfast here is their Spanish omelette sandwich. They make the omelette really well and it costs me only £2.50. But i do have complaints about the coffee. I have tried it once or twice and have found it quite distasteful. So i always end up buying the sandwich here after getting my coffee from the Nero next door. Aran closes early … by about 4PM i reckon. So unfortunately i can’t rely on them to satisfy my occasional pangs of hunger in the afternoon :(I am deducting one star for that. I recommend Aran for those people who always wake up late and never have time for a proper sit-down breakfast, either at home or away.

Old school sandwich bar stacked high with baguettes and ciabattas. Yes, there is a lot of mayonaise based fillings here, but sometimes you just have to let go and enjoy the yumminess even though you may not have any clue about the full contents of what you’re about to bite into. There’s a salad counter, with more mayo dressed veg. Good if you fancy a salad with substance as there’s plenty if potato and rice. If you fancy a quick traditional brekkie they do fry ups in the morning and there’s a couple of high chairs by the window to eat quick and go.
