Good ambience, good service and music. Not much on the menu food wise though and the food is good but not great. Overall a good experience.

I had high hopes after seeing the cute décor but left sad and disappointed. On the plus side, the salsa was fresh, the chips were crisp, and the beans were pretty amazing. However, the beef tacos were awful. The corn tortillas were rubbery as was the charred beef rendering me to look like my dog playing tug of war. When pointing this out to the waitress, I was still charged £9 for the inedible food. Grrrr

Cute little place… Margaritas are good. Great spot if you’re staying in London & missing Mexican food.

My friends and I love Azteca for happy hour! We go every week. Two for one drinks(excluding champagne and whiskey) can’t be beat! They have a lot of different margarita flavors. My two favorites are blueberry and white peach. Highly recommended! Also, the Bloody Mary is one of the best I’ve ever had. They are perfectly spicy and flavorful. The food is also excellent! Being a southern Californian, I’m very snobby about my Mexican food. I was absolutely thrilled to find a place like Azteca so close to Kensington where the Mexican food is this good! The guacamole should not be missed. Also, the chicken street tacos blow my mind and are very authentically prepared with just cilantro and onions. We also tried the quesadilla with pork and pineapple. Seemed like an odd combination at first, but it was actually very delicious! The restaurant’s upstairs is small, so I suggest trying to do happy hour at off-peak hours! Enjoy!

The décor, the food, the music… Great find thanks to the Unilocal app! We walked over after skating at the Natural History Museum. The Irishman had a chicken quesadilla and we shared my chicken tacos. Cilantro and lime galore. Yum! Not to mention 2 for 1 cocktails at the 5 – 8 pm happy hour and spotless bathrooms. It was the best of living in Guatemala near the Mexican border but much cleaner! It was 30 quid for 2 cocktails, a beer, and an order each of chicken tacos and chicken quesadillas. Decent prices for a yummy meal with the[almost] perfect ambiance. It loses one star for the hostess loudly talking on the phone, having a personal, profanity-laden conversation, from her perch above the restaurant and for having a sliding door that does not like to stay closed. We were seating one table over from the door and in one hour got up at least 5 times to close the sliding door to prevent the negative temperatures from chilling us too much while we were eating. Bonus points for a super nice bar tender who lived in Edmonton, Canada and chatted with the Irishman about Canada!

For me, this is the place to go for cocktails. For Chelsea, you can’t get better prices. The staff are really, really nice and the bar itself has a relaxed buzzy vibe to it, that I love when I’m out. Don’t let the size of it fool you– downstairs is really big. If you haven’t already, go here!

I went to Azteca last night hoping to have a good time with my friends… we noticed right away that it was very overpriced and not very comfortable. Then I ordered a vegetarian dish that was displayed with the«(V)» on the menu and they brought me something with chicken. After asking I was told, that the(V) only means that this dish could be asked for in Vegetarian version… .Stupid! Anyway… that waitress then suggested me that they could bring my dish back to the kitchen and take out the chicken… I asked to make sure but she was really explaining to a vegetarian that they could just pick the chicken out of my food and bring that plate back. NOWAY! So she went back the 3rd time to the kitchen and said that the chef finally accepted to make a new dish… I wasn’t hungry anymore after all that arguing. We asked for the bill and they really had the balls to charge me for my dish that I didn’t have a single bite from… and 12.5% service charge on top. This is by far the lowest level of customer service I ever received… no wonder that place was completely empty on a Thursday night. So disappointing. NEVERAGAIN!!!

This place is an oasis of latin fun in a what can sometimes be a very stiff and unforgiving neighbourhood. The cocktail list is long and well priced and from what I spied of someone’s food, it looked hearty and well put together! We had ourselves a great time. Funky music on a Friday night, with a really chilled out atmosphere. We managed to grab a perfect sized table and sat chatting for a couple of hours. My only gripe are the staff. The first problem was the spiced mojitio, which is normally one of my favourites. Menu says it’s just like a regular mojito, only with Sailor Jerry’s spiced rum… mmmm… my favourite! Only my drink came riddled with pepper and tobasco sauce. WTF? NO! Returned it and asked it to made to the menu. The next round I went for another spiced mojito — and guess what? Yep, the peppery demon had returned. Back it went again. STOPIT! The final round of the night, we managed to acquire an extra drink, which we hadn’t ordered. We notified the waitress who looked scared for her job and life! We couldn’t bear to see her cry and so paid for it anyway. Not the best service here then. It wasn’t enough to put me off completely, I liked it here, and I’ll likely return given the chance. When made right, their cocktails were excellent.

This place is hot hot hot! I used to come here alot when i lived in Chelsea, and it hasn’t changed much since. The staff are great fun, just as you would expect from Mexicans. I think the best time to come is on a sunday night, when you can feel free to pick up a pair of bongos, grab a Mojito and have a blast. They also do a delicious range of Tex Mex dishes. The colourful deco will bring a smile to your face and make you feel like your on holiday for the night! If the Sun is shining then they put out side seating on the pavement.

I actually think this is one of the best bars on a road that considering its brilliant history should be a lot better furnished with drinking establishments. It’s Mexican obviously and it has a really nice lounge feel with a whole lot of vibrancy mixed in with the cocktails and music — much of which is live. It moved over from the other side of the road fairly recently but has quickly built back its reputation and regular clientele. It’s always a busy place and is a really good choice for a drink after work or on the weekend. Che Guavara is a bit of an icon at Azteca and although the place is hardly revolutionary it does breath a whole lot of life into some dead heroes and Latin American cultural traditions.

Not because I am Latin American but this place truly feels closer to home, ironic since there is an ocean in between. The lounge is not big, but at night it has such a cozy feeling, large leather sofas, colourful lighting, photography and latin american insignia; Che Guevara’s famous portrait is their symbol. The cocktails are mouth watering, try the mojito(I know I am obsessed with them). Fine, you maybe are not but there is a well rounded selection of mexican beers, Modelo Negra is a good one, be adventurous! And when hunger strikes order some Nachos Azteca, good sharer dish and very yummy… However, all of the above would be nothing without the incredible live bands ad DJ’s they regularly have. Bongos, trumpets, you name it they’ve had it.
