Such good food! Good banta! Broad range of Italian food to good old English fry up! Practically everything you can think of is on the menu and the Portuguese custard tarts are to die for! Huge portions and very affordable! The only rule is if you sit down you must eat! One of the last original café’s left in old Soho — here’s hoping they don’t go the way of so many others! A must see(be seen) place for tourists and regular Soho crowd! This site says no table service. Well that’s never been my experience, but maybe that’s just for me!!!

Amazing greasy spoon! Huge breakfasts for small prices, good coffe and an overall neighbourhood feel to the whole thing. It’s relatively small and seems crammed, but it’s absolutely worth it. It does get super busy too, which just shows how awesome this place is.

Quick, cheap, and simple English breakfasts. It’s a zoo in there with the old Polish waitresses flirting away which was fun. The toast was some of the better I’ve had. Sit outside or on the main floor and avoid downstairs. I might go back. Not many options early for breakfast.

First visit was very good at this place. second one is more likely; probably not going anymore… i didnt want to order any food because i didnt feel well in my stomach. my girlfriend took the brunos breakfast. the waitress said that its not allowed that i dont order any food and went talking to the boss. he just made a displeased look and the waitress didnt come back again. looked like its fine… but after that she served is really slowly and unfriendly till we left. not going back to this place anymore. the food was pretty good still so thats why i gave 3 stars now.

Fixated on looking out for Bar Bruno(suggested upon recommendation) as I wondered through Wardour Street, I saw the café on a corner. quite easy to miss, so look for number 101 as well. My tummy rumbled and I burst into the café, saying«Hey Bruno» before ordering a full English breakfast. The staff replied with laughter and smiles at my prompt«Bruno», and I sat at the front, overlooking the busy Soho morning crowd. I ordered a hefty egg, bacon, sausage, chips and beans. and the portion was more than enough; advisable to be had on an empty stomach. It took just over 20 minutes, which in greasy spoon time is quite long but did come with my fave sauces, ketchup and brown sauce. It was piping hot. To help wash it down, I tried the new San Pellegrino Lemon&Mint, which was ice cold. let them know and help yourself from the fridge. This was all under a tenner, and in Soho with a good view of a busy Wardour Street, but next time, I will go off peak.

I’ll always fuck with Bar Bruno, even though they tried to do it up unnecessarily a couple of years ago.

Very personable and attentive staff. Food was really good for my first experience with a proper English breakfast. Location is small but easy to find. I suggest visiting if your ever in the Lester Square /Soho area.

My son and I were staying at the W Leicester Square Hotel and were looking for an alternative to the unbelievably expensive hotel restaurant for breakfast. One of the front desk staff at the hotel recommended this restaurant. We are glad we took his advice! First, this restaurant has zero atmosphere. Zero. It has small wood tables, close together. One waitress. One cook, in a kitchen the size of a phone booth. Most people there were working people, or perhaps tourists from the neighborhood. Nobody wearing a suit. You may have to wait a few minutes for a table, but nobody seemed to be lingering excessively over their meals. We saw a couple of single customers request to sit in the unoccupied seat of a two person table – the requests were accepted graciously. As Americans, we have not seen this done before, but it seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary here. But the breakfast was delicious, extremely filling traditional Full English served within five minutes, eggs cooked to order, and very inexpensive too. We would definitely return and we recommend this restaurant to those desiring a quick, delicious, filling, and inexpensive meal. But don’t go for the atmosphere if you’re trying to impress someone.

Total greasy spoon. We had a great breakfast here after an overnight flight. They serve you enough to last all day. What I had was the BB Breakfast. There is one breakfast that is bigger, which is hard to believe. Mine had an egg, beans, bubble, bacon and sausage. It was overwhelmingly big. British bacon is, essentially, Canadian bacon – in American terms. A bubble is mashed up potato with stuff in there. The British sausage is bland by American standards(as is most English food). But everything was good and getting this meal, even if you can’t finish, is a tour of UK breakfast tradition. It is a small place, well traveled and busy. The service was great and it is in a good location to most Piccadilly, Leicster, and Covent Garden shopping/attractions.

I went here today expecting a nice hot cheap meal. The place was packed with limited seating, but people come and go pretty quickly because the food is served shortly after being ordered. A lot of people went with a takeaway meal. i decided to have a sit down meal. we were seated pretty quickly and ordered quickly too. Drinks: Coke(coke soda taste) and hot chocolate(creamy). Mains: 1. Bruno burger(£6.50): massive burger with chips. i couldn’t finish it. the meat was what i paid for, isn’t the best quality, but for what i was paying it was decent. 2. Chicken risotto(£5.50) very generous portion, but average taste. Overall you get what you pay for. If you’re hungry and wanna spend as little money to dine out in soho you should check this place out! :)

Love this place! Awesome little sandwich shop/greasy spoon run by a bunch of guys who always greet you nicely and seem to care about what they do. The price is reasonable(especially for Soho) and they have a lot of choice. Often find myself wandering through the door when I need lunch. Recommend this as your regular sandwich place, beats the likes of Pret hands down!

Can’t believe all the years I’ve been hanging out in Soho and I’ve never been here. I got the biggest salad i’ve ever seen(all freshly prepared and delicious) yummy and filled me up for the rest of the day!

A delicious deli visited mostly by locals(oh so it appeared to me). Come here to escape from the tiny £6 sandwiches offered by most of the Soho coffee shops and restaurants! Here you get a sandwich big enough to feed a trucker. With a side of crisps? A fat trucker. Jokes aside this is a place that offers fast service, big portions and a lot of variety: pasta, soups, sandwiches, etc. You get what you pay for. Don’t expect the best cuts of meat or soy lattes. But if you’re on a budget and want something tasty fast, you’ll find it at Bruno’s.

Bar Bruno is one of those places to which no attention was paid to, other than by those that used it regularly, stumbled on through the 90s and finds itself now part of everything ‘retro’. One of the last few Soho places to remain untouched by redesign, saved from disappearing by it’s good solid service of food to suit all at basic prices, coupled with a real connection to people of the daily life there; you’ll find everyone from window cleaners to pin stripe gents(not so many of the latter these days it must be said) builders to media monkeys, the latter in their frayed jeans, former often in football shirts, lunchtime bands of office girls and the occasional lady up from the shires. Just about everyone else as well. All get a cheery word not supercilious acknowledgement and fast service. Eat in and you’ll hear all the banter too.

This is a little deli that caters to your Italian craving without skimping on quite English choices like egg and chips. Tasty and fast.

A timeless Italian soho café. Very good value and if it’s a nice day and you fancy a ciabatta to eat in the churchyard this is definitely the best place to get it.

Beste Anlaufstelle in Soho!

I was craving a cucumber sandwich while walking around this area of town. For under $ 2USD I got cucumber, cream cheese, and sprinkle of salt. Perfect, delicious, and affordable. It’s a walk up counter, with booths available if you care to dine in.

After a very hectic morning of last minute christmas shopping this ‘Italian’ joint did the job. As others have mentioned they have more less Italian grub, like chips, egg and bacon(breakfast), chilli con carne jacket potatoes and ratatouille, omelettes with chips and many sandwich choices. I was in the mood for a spinach omelette, not the best ever but good enough for £3.50. Can’t say much more except that the funny man that stood outside smoking a cigarette and being a bit of a nuisance made my day.

Bar Bruno is a place I trust for a quick bite to eat, the sandwiches are very authentically Italian and fuss free. Crowds may gather around lunch time, but no bother! This is the Italian charm. For sunny days you can sit outside and have come good coffee, I mean really good. I go for the penne arrabiatta or just some tomato and mozzarella if I have the time to just sit and relax. And wish I was Italian.

This is a reliable little sandwich shop in Soho. It’s not exactly a greasy spoon as there are distinct Italian overtones but it does all the usual, sandwiches, pastas, potatoes and a breakfast which isn’t half bad. There’s a little seating area to one side as well so if you’re not in the mood to eat in front of your computer or watch you boss stuff her face with her greater managerial responsibility you can take a nice break here. They do proper coffee as well so do the guys here a favour and come in instead of going to the Starbucks opposite.
