The search for a nice Chinese takeaway in Clapham/​Balham continues… this ain’t it. Soft, fatty meat, average rice/​sauce and a bill of over £30 for two. Someone’s got to do a Bombay Bicycle to the Chinese takeaway market sometime soon — lazy food-​lovers of London need you.

Friendly, high quality, and very reliable: this is the healthy take-​away solution for the evenings when you’re too worn-​out to cook, and when you just need a bit of kindness and convenience in your evenings. The futomaki and nigiri are excellent, and the salmon teriyaki is also very good.
It’s not the most exquisite Japanese delicacy, but it’s good food, with a whole variety of East Asian cuisines on offer.

This is a South London favourite, though I never really understood the fuss. The takeaway arrives quickly and is good just not great. The Chinese menu items are not as tasty as even your neighbourhood small operations.

I’ve eaten in Bento on a number of occasions. This place promises affordable Japanese cuisine in a friendly, relaxed environment.
There’s never been anything wrong with the food here… I’ve just never been that satisfied. When I eat Japanese, I look for something special, authentic and full of fresh flavours but unfortunately, with Bento, this place is lacking all of these aspects for me.
I ordered a jumbo california roll once… It was huge but the rice was a little dry and it had nothing about it that screamed out «fresh» or «tasty». Was just some dry rice with vegetables and a crab stick. I reckon I could make this better at home myself.
There’s never been a terrible tale to tell about this place but it’s my opinion that if you eat out, you should have a spectacular experience, not just an «OK» one…

Bento is a great Japanese take away service with a Budda bar next door. Choose, wait, salivate and collect your lush takeaway (sushi, california rolls, soups, dumplings and noodle) then carry it over to the chill out bar next door to enjoy over a bottle of sake. Watch the brain cells though!
Scrummy and worth every penny!
