This place couldn’t have been more wonderful the service was great. Wonderfully easy with kids. The Onion Loaf is th best I have had in a long while…

It was fine… nothing special… there was a shred of plastic in my chicken livers but I was so worn out from sightseeing that I did not bother. My husband thought the meal was ok, but we’re American, so Americana food doesn’t excite me much

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The food is really nice, I ordered BBQ chicken with chips, not the specialty of the house, but it was lovely. Until I found a hair in it. A lot of people would make a great fuss about it, but I am not that type of a person. I just told the manager that they shall be more careful & demand on their employees tonwear hair nets in the kitchen. She asked me if I want to take away my meal from the bill or just get me a new one, I refused. Once again, I hate to complain! I was almost done with it, so I left it like that. But still, the meal was on the house. Which means a really good customer service. I will definitely go there again, no matter of that little situation. Just have in mind that it is a bit tiny and during the weekend it is overcrowded.

Average food — huge portions. We were looking for naother restaurant but overshot it and were starving so stopped here. Got the ¼ chicken with ribs. They give you the entire rakc of ribs, so the portions size was massive. Ribs were a bit tough. Grilled sea bass was good, a tad dry. More wines than beers on the drink menu. Over cooked brussels srpouts, and the spinach was super oily

Total Americana dive meat joint and I loved it! If you love Onion rings this place has the best ones in town. The chicken was surprisingly juicy and tender. The ribs were great. Over all a really good place for American style BBQ.

Not the fanciest place in London, but we had a very good meal, served with many smiles. The tex-mex deco is also very interesting. Our meats were cooked to perfection, very tasty, and came with delicious sides in good proportions. Hee haaaaa !

I have been to Billys on 4 seperate occasions as I work close by and it always looks warm, cosy and inviting from outside and sometimes I just cannot resist. I have tried the fish and chips and the burgers there and have found them cooked to perfection. The chips are great too — nice and thick and they are always steaming hot when brought to the table — just like chips should be :) I have always had very good service from the staff at various times of the year that I have visited Billys. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to South Kensington.

I’d agree with other reviewers that this place is pretty average at best. A buddy of mine said it was one of the better fish and chips joints in the area, so I went for it. It at least filled my fish and chips quota while I was in London(which I was convinced I would never have!) I docked it an extra star because the menu indicates a ‘ladies portion’, which is pretty sexist, but then I added the star back because let’s be real – that’s hilarious and would only happen in London.

First off, the one thing that everyone should know is that Billy’s Baked Potato does not take credit cards. What sit down restaurant in a major metropolitian city does not take a credit card? I’ll tell you, one that has mediocre food and lousy service. Unfortunately disatisfaction cannot be displayed via tip as they add 10% to any group of 5 or more. The food and service: I ordered a tomato soup as a starter and a steak roll as the main entry. The tomato soup tasted like Campbells and they brought out my starter when they brought out the main entry for the rest of the family. Steak roll was only ok. For the price was not worth it. Family of five final cost was 90.80 pounds. There is a Subway that 20 feet a way that I think would be the better option if I had a chance for a do-over.

Touristy and not at all like anything you’d find in the US, pass on Billy’s unless everything else is closed and you just have to burn some cash asap. While the food ranged in our party of six from passable to terrible, the service was some of the worst we’ve encountered in months. Easy requests were ignored and/or misunderstood, and apologies never came. Also note that they don’t take cards.

Firstly, it’s a tourist trap. I know, I know, what kind of self respecting Unilocaler would go to one? The answer is, a hungry one, one too lazy to cook, and wanting something close and convenient. It describes itself as a steak and grill house. The décor is nostalgia/ranchy American, kind of like Montana’s, Applebee’s or Chilli’s. But then you get the menu, and it’s like… what just happened? Steaks, ribs, peri peri chicken(pushing the genre here), traditional fish and chips(what??), and Italian(hmmm). I ordered the pork ribs. It was cheap, and the portion was large. In my opinion, the main determinant of delicious ribs is the sauce. But it was way to vinegary! I ended up scraping off the sauce, instead of licking it off my fingers. I think that the take home message is: this place has potential. But what they really need to do, is stick to a specialty, perfect it, and cut the menu unapologetically.
