Excellent dinner for those fellow Americans missing a good old cheeseburger and fries.

Stumbled across this place walking around London. Staff were great guys very helpful. I had the Diablo Burger, their signature burger and their Diner fries. What a meal! Huge burger very tasty, and good portion of fries. Service was great, atmosphere is spot on. Would recommend of you want a great burger and fries combo

This has the BEST American Breakfast outside NewYork. Try the Blue Plate Special LumberJack Breakfast. It Keeps you going ALL day. Great Staff and the only place I have found that does bottomless mugs of coffee. It’s just a great place to eat. Food was Fantastic.

The Diner is a nice spot with lots of character and a cheerful staff. The burger I ordered was great as was the chicken and jalapeño poppers and the wet fries. The Mac and cheese was a bit bland though. Great Long Island Iced Teas! All in all it was a nice meal but we’re not likely to return considering all the other choices available.

It is rare that a restaurant is good enough for a visit at least 1 – 2 times a week, but the diner is the epitome of consistently delicious food. The Mexican breakfast pan is the most impeccable creation ever put in this world. It is a combination of hashbrowns, eggs, black beans, caramelized onions, avacado, cheese and all that is good. It can cure any hangover and goes great with a Camden Hells. The diner fries are another must eat. Covered in hamburger sauce, onions, cheese, and deliciousness, these fries are all you need to start off a good meal. Lastly and most underrated is the chili. Served in a cast iron skillet with pepper, dirty rice and sour cream, this dish is the perfect solution to a typical London rainy day. Overall one of my favorite spots while living in London. A Must see.

The Diner had very nice service and we review our food right away. However, the food itself was rather bland. The coffee weak. The cuisine reminded me of British food a decade ago. I’d recommend you skip this place in search of something else.

The closest thing to In N Out animal style fries in London! I went here on many occasions — when I was feeling like some pancakes for dinner, wanted a good sized meal of burgers and fries, or wanted a nice boozy milkshake. Everything was fabulous, and I really had no qualms, except that sometimes it was hard to get a server’s attention. Otherwise, it’s awesome and really does serve a great full menu of diner deliciousness — very American, and very filling.

There have only been a few times in my life that I have wanted to get up and leave in the middle of a meal. The service is terrible, they told us we had to order the more expensive version of the French toast with no apology and proceeded to take 20 mins to bring us food. The food was a soggy mess, it tasted terrible and I was charged for a curdled side of sour cream. They brought me another one 5 mins later and the food didn’t get any better. I knew there was something wrong when we got here and were the only ones. I should have listened to my gut and went next door or really anywhere else would have been better. It was the biggest waste of 10 pounds.

Our first stop after arriving. Offered safe alternatives and cuisine for naïve Americans. With that said, not all they offered was typical for our normal offerings back home. The one thing that stands out was great fries(we haven’t had a bad potato since arriving in London). The burger was good, but not great. The vegetarian breakfast was good as an alternative, but left something to be desired. One of our group had a hot dog with bacon and chili sauce and it was delicious. As with a lot of places, you need to specify tap water versus still bottled water. Soft drinks are expensive and small with no free refills. Wait staff was friendly and very helpful.

I’m usually reluctant to Unilocal a place that I’ve only had delivered, because I never know whether the arriving food’s quality is attributable to the restaurant or the fact that my food has been bouncing around a motorcycle in the rain. However, this time around it was pretty clear that my food suffered in the preparation stage, not the flying-through-London stage. Plus, when I told the guy next to me that I’d ordered from the Diner, his response was«oh…uh, have you ever had it before?» When the food first arrived, I thought I was in for a good meal based on the packaging, of all things. Apparently the person assembling orders had mixed up two of my boxes while labeling them, and she decided to fix it with a series of funny notes. Unfortunately, the«mac & cheese… or is it?!» note rang a bit too true once I started eating. I’d ordered the Diner salad(chicken caesar with avocado and bacon), a side of mac & cheese, and the Diner fries, and none of it was very good. It wasn’t awful, just not good. The salad was bland. Tasteless caesar dressing, dry chicken, not-ripe-enough avocados. Disappointing. The mac & cheese was clearly an attempt, but it didn’t get there. Too much creaminess, not enough cheesiness. Even siracha didn’t save it!(I recently discovered there was a bottle of siracha in my office kitchen. It has somehow been sitting on my desk for the past two weeks since.) The french fries are the only one that I’m willing to give a rode-around-on-a-motorcycle pass. They were damp from the condensation in the same way that all fries that I get delivered always are. You think I’d have learned by now. I don’t intend to order from here again.

Well time to post to a new place. Service is good and the place is clean and fresh. Kinda reminds me of a cute Denny’s. The food is awesome. My wife had the chicken and waffles was real good. The chicken has flavor and the waffle was crunchy. Snoop Dog would be proud. I had the breakfast and it was great. If you are wanting a diner — GO. If you are American definitely go!

Allison P. hit the nail on the head… The Diner is so close, yet not quite there on American breakfast food. Scrambled eggs and pancakes are decent enough to come back. But what really hooked me was The Kraken hard shake — amazing! Rum, banana ice cream, maple syrup, small enough that I could still devour half of my Lumber Jack plate. Service was slow, but it’s expected. Overall, it’s a good place to add to the«I miss dives in the US» list in London.

I’m always a skeptic of anything that claims to be ‘American’ in London. Which is why, though I have lived 4 minutes walking distance for over half a year from this joint, I have avoided it like the plague. Well this fine Saturday morning my girl friend and I both had the same idea for breakfast — pancakes, french toast, American-style like at a diner in NY. I checked the menu online and this fit the bill. Sold. Have you ever been somewhere where it is JUSTALMOST right? Close but not quite? Made friends with an older American tourist also there and he agreed, this place almost has it. Like 80% but needs a little more to get over the hump. I ordered the unlimited refills filter coffee. So diner style! Nice mugs, no chips. The coffee was pretty weak but I was happy to have filter in a pot rather than an espresso shot with hot water.(Americanos suck). My friend picked around her veggie breakfast wrap but maybe ate three bites. Didn’t look great but she sure as heck didn’t like it. Clearly I went for the LUMBERJACK. Pancakes, eggs and bacon. Pancakes were solid. Eggs(fried medium) good too. The bacon, well it’s British bacon which I am not keen on so that sat untouched. All in all, my meal was pretty good. But here’s the few extras that would help. 1) Syrup. Firstly, a stack of three serious large pancakes deserves more than a small condiment cup(think McD’s paper cups for ketchup). Put it in a larger serving glass and leave it at the tables, next to the ketchup bottle, and canister of sugar. Also, get BETTER syrup. Super runny with a bit of an ‘off’ taste. Actually made my pancakes taste a little worse(which I learned after I poured the entire cup over them). 2) Americans like artificial sweetener. Order some. I carry my own stash for situations such as this one. And I don’t mind offering the other Americans asking for it some of my personal stash. But if that many people asked in one hour today, I bet this is a common occurrence. Ah yes, the waitress said it was! 3) A large spoonful of butter on top of those pancakes would have been superb. Especially to off-set the minuscule amount of barely passable syrup. I did like my food and the joint. And will be back and recommend it. Service was also good, nothing was a problem. And before you think I was impolite chowing down on my meal while my friend sat there starving, I’ll let you know I did offer her some pancakes(before I ate them all).

pulled pork burger!!! yes! Hazelnut and pistacho milkshake WITH Baileys? UMUHYEAH! You dont need to order two side orders of fries by the way… I’d go just for the milkshake by the way… i think it needs to be a bit bigger cause i finished that pretty quickly.

I’m still a fan of going to the Diner for an American beer and wings, but otherwise, I’m basically 100% off of it. That said, much of my dislike could be attributed to my gluttonous ordering, i.e., my inability to just order a regular 6 oz burger and either get the double or the Diablo. It is not my fault though when the larger burgers are, in my opinion, not very good, but still, I shouldn’t order them if I know I don’t care for them. Otherwise, the fries are kind of inconsistent, and really, a burger and fries is the only thing I normally order so I’m left with a bitter taste in my mouth. The service is really good and all of the young hipster types are sweet, albeit very inefficient. I get the feeling they’re hired based on aesthetic/vibes rather than experience. I’ll still go back cuz my sister and brother in law are nuts on the place, but am unlikely to pop in by my own volition.
