Yeah it’s OK in here. I wish I’d eaten in, while I was sat there waiting for my takeaway I realised it’s a very nice little café. Even more so now I’ve read they have free wi-​fi!
I ordered Chicken Risotto which came with a (very welcome) little salad and a smile. Nice happy staff are always good.
But the risotto was average. I have a huge addiction to Risotto and this just wasn’t up to scratch. I know it’s not all their fault — I prefer cream based risotto as opposed to the tomato ones. But there’s a reason! Tomato risotto can all too easily turn into what looks and tastes like baby food. It didn’t help that they put carrots in it. Cooked mushy carrots taste like baby food! To my knowledge, carrots don’t grow in Italy (do they?) — why do they keep appearing in the risotto around this area?
And despite the big portion, don’t think you can scrimp on the chicken by adding more chunks of carrot — you’re not fooling anyone! It was about a fiver too so I’d have expected a little more meat.
I might go back, as it was friendly, but I’ll probably order something else next time.
