Black Gull Books

Black Gull Books is a tiny second hand book shop based a little out of the way amongst the independent shops of Camden Lock.
Despite the small size, the shop holds a massive amount of stock. They increase shelf space by having a lot of stock outside at the front and more inside stacked on high shelves. A wide selection of genres are stocked (and well arranged) but obviously the exact titles on offer depend on what customers bring in. Inside the books are packed onto the shelves and it sometimes takes a beady eye to spot what you want.
A fair bit tends to be mainstream titles and authors and if you are looking for a gift for someone who is a fan of an author, it is a good place to pick up a bulk of their back catalogue for a small price. In some cases, older editions of books are available which can be collectibles in the eyes of some.
Black Gull Books is a charming little shop which is one for book enthusiasts. It also makes a pleasant detour from the busy Camden High Street. It is quieter and gives you a breather should you need it. Being small it can accommodate smaller wheelchairs but is not a good place to take the kids.
