2 star average? This must be rectified. Sure it’s a mainstream book shop, but then if you didn’t know that before you went in… have a word with yourself. The thing is, whilst it may not hide away within it’s vaults a copy of the original Bible, it does have a solid selection of all the latest fiction from all the hottest authors of the moment to the more traditional literature of Shakespeare and Chaucer. What’s important is that the staff are able and willing to help. If it weren’t for the friendly attitude of the two people that served me a couple of weeks ago, I doubt i would have even bothered writing a review. However, credit where credit is due. i am now the proud owner of several graphic novels that were tracked down by the store operatives. They worked hard for my pennies, but in the long run i know they thought it was worth it to see me skip out of the store like a 12 year old girl. Sexy Rob

I like the Camden Waterstones because it is dark and has a sense of mystery that makes me feel like I’m about to find a hidden treasure. Unfortunately there are no treasures but they do have a good selection of mainstream books. If you are looking for something academic or non-mainstream I’d suggest heading to the Piccadilly or Gower Street branch. As mentioned earlier, the Camden branch looks nice but the real sustenance of alternative books is a little lacking.

Camden doesn’t really have many proper bookshops. This is a semi-proper one but they have a crap non-fiction section with nothing except some top sellers or oddly corporate offerings. There is no place to sit in this shop and nothing is ever on sale here, practically. The layout is nice, spread over 2 floors with carpet. I think this is rather boring for a bookshop.
