Scam!!! I bought a groupon some time ago and decided to redeem it… it was for make up + hair + phot shoot. Everything worked out great and went smoothly. After I was done with the whole process(2.5– 3 hrs), I was able to see my photos. I def liked about 25% of the photos a lot. The prob is that you only received 15×7 free(although you had to pay 5 gbp for shipping) but it was watermarked. It made sense to get your fav pics on cd, right? Wellll… it was 800 gbp for 10 images on a cd! You could get 1 image for 100 gbp or 5 for 400 gbp… It was RIDICULOUS!!! Eventually they negotiated with me but it was still tooooo much money! Prob is that they have you backed into a corner bc you have spent a lot of time there(several hrs) and you really do like the pics. Do not buy a groupon for this place and don’t go there… they are so DEVIOUS!!! I am going to notify group on for sure!

This place left me feeling so good about myself I have to give it full marks! I went with three girlfriends on a Friday eve to get our hair + make up done for one of their bday parties that night. It was an inspired idea for a special treat — not only can you be super lazy beforehand(massive plus points in my book — I never spend more than 5mins on make-up!) then look fabulous for the party, but you also get a good girly warm up session before going out. The salon is in a prime location and much bigger than it looks from the outside. There’s a small sofa area to wait for latecomers and enjoy a glass of fizz — ok it wasn’t champers, but sparkling wine was included in our package. For a bit extra they also have a photographer and studio in the basement to do those posey makeover photoshoots, but we all felt that was a bit too vain/cringey on this occasion. Obv if you’re desperate for a professional makeover for your next profile pic though then go for it! I arrived first and was made to feel really welcome by the friendly guy at the counter, before my 3 mates arrived and a team of stylists whisked away one of us each. I struck it lucky being paired with a chirpy short blonde who was bursting with energy and not afraid of mixing things up a bit. All 3 of my mates were led downstairs to get shampoo-ed then blow-dried with identical big beautiful desperate-housewives-style wavy hair. I was after something a bit different though given I was paying a stylist, and my girl seemed more than happy to run with that! She simply looked at my hair, thought for a bit, then asked ‘do you trust me?’. As soon as I said yes she was off like a firecracker, and spent the next half hour creating a gorgeous hairstyle of intertwining plaits which I loved. As did everyone else who walked past and stopped to exclaim over how cool it was :) She was so enthusiastic throughout it was infectious, even telling me she loved me for letting her try it out on me! After that we each got a session with a make up artist, who again made me look and feel great whilst also being so down-to-earth and chatty. I liked that she managed to make my eyes look so big and dramatic without actually using too much heavy makeup, as I’m a fan of the less-is-more school of thought. My friends also looked gorgeous(ahem even more so than usual I mean) and they managed to complement our different looks really well. So why wasn’t it all perfect? There ended up being a lot of waiting around in between stylists and it didn’t seem particularly well-scheduled — no one really knew who was supposed to be working on which group and how long for so we overran on time by almost an hour. The other thing was they were a bit stingy on the bubbles — a few refills would’ve gone down very well! We got a 20% discount by getting our mate who’s still a student to book, as it’s a pricey treat. Hair, make-up and free drinks? £50 with a student card, £65 full price. Mutual girl crush with a cute blonde then confidence-boosting compliments all night? Priceless ;)

Had a hair cut here the other day, first time too. Not too expensive, got a deal on it with a friend, which was why we went there. The staff are friendly, although they are the type that are around 15 years younger than me, called me ‘Darlin’ at the end of each sentence and looked like they were sooo bored with having to cut MY hair, having too many other things to do like gossip with each other about the night before. I have given it 3 stars for the price & also because It was the quickest hair cut I have ever had! I reckon about 20mins! including the wash! Later that day, I was sitting in a restaurant & my hair started to fall out! or so I thought! The hairdresser did not brush away any of the hair she had cut so it looked like I was loosing my hair! Whoops on their part! They seem to have deals on all the time, it was also really busy. Not bad, but there are better!

When I was a penniless student,(which wasn’t that long ago I’ll have you know!), I spent all my birthday money to get my long tresses cut off here. I went from shoulder length to a bob in an afternoon. This salon is wonderful. It really is! And if you get past the tourist price tags and stuck up female staff you really can enjoy yourself. The gent that chopped away at my hair took over 2 hours, seriously. I was this fellas master piece! The cut cost over 50 quid but was totally worth it, with my long locks transformed into a super sleek bob. They are a little aggressive on their sales for you to upgrade and buy products but if you go in with a strong sense of what you want to leave with you’ll be fine.
