I was drawn in by the name when I arrived early for a meeting in the area. This end of Putney has changed a lot since a friend used to live hear many years ago. The former hinterland of Upper Richmond Road has turned into a buzzing high street. Cappuccino seems to be stuck between both worlds as a rather old-fashioned Italian coffee bar. Nothing wrong with that, only the cappuccino I ordered was far from the best I’ve had — what a shame. The croissant was similarly lame in that it was one of these mass produced ones, served cold and soggy. Oh well, should have arrived with more time and an emptier stomach and opted for one of the fry ups …

It is not the best place to have your coffee, but they sure do know how to make a good caffeine drink, I am positive about that, so I give it 4 starts and I expect it will better in its appearance and a bit on the staff matter.

Cappuccino, but not really. I’d rather have a regular black coffee, than the cappuccino, and I second that takeway is better than staying in. I see big potential in this place, having in mind its location, but the management should come up with some good ideas.

Not a very glamorous café, but one that serves reliable coffee, sandwich or a fry-up. Situated on the Upper Richmond Road close to the high street, this has been around since before I moved to Putney over 5 years ago. Friendly staff and a fare amount of seating make this an acceptable choice of place to eat. Sandwiches and coffee are a fair bit cheaper than nearby Café Crimson or the other high street coffee shops. Let down by the drab décor, I would prefer to takeaway rather than eat in.
