Arriving with a group after building a stand, we liked the atmosphere — you really get it when you enter the door into the deli. The friendly staff was able to seat us immediately even when we didn’t make a booking and were quite a large group — seven. We opted for the menu, which gave us a choice for starter, main course and dessert. For me, the pâté with toast was the choice — served in a small ramekin. Perfect! The ravioli of spinach with green beens(I would have preferred if they’d be served warm — now they were cold as a salad) making a good combination. As most of the table had salad or fish, we followed the advice for white wine which turned out to be a good pairing. Overall, we appreciated the experience, and the value-for-money was good. This dinner concluded in a nice way a day of hard work!

Carluccios is only good if it works, it is quite expensive for what it is and so if the quality and service is off then it is quite poor. When went there the lowlights were dirty plates, cold lasagne and a piece of growing medium(wood/bark/cloth?) in the mushroom pasta full price was still charged although there was an apology for the mushroom pasta. Highlights were the atmosphere, location, antipasti, good flavours and the seafood pasta although one of us got all the tomatoes another got much more pasta. They had run out of their house red and one of the desserts but apart from that the rest of the food was OK. I’ve been there for lunch and been impressed but last night a busy Saturday I would go again but make sure it was a lunch or a quiet weekday evening or maybe go to Pepenero in Canning Town rubbish location but great food

Food sent from heaven. Nifty staff who make the job of waiting look easy(and pleasurable)…A great experience which would be near on perfect were it not for the unflattering lighting!

yeah, it’s alright here. But unlike some of the places around here, Carluccios doesn’t benefit from it’s Canary Wharf location. Is it me or has this italian chain gone a bit downhill? Honestly, the place is a little bit plasticcy now. The shops are getting bigger and stretching more into the restaurant bit — at least it feels like that anyway. It feels more and more like you’re being forced to shop. I was more inclined to do that when it was subtle. Now I feel like they’re pushing it too much. They get angry if you don’t order much food. I hate that. Sometimes, i just don’t want to eat a lot. But frankly if I’m spending £30 on a bottle of wine I don’t care and they need to lose the attitude. There’s a lot of places to eat around here. You’d have to be really pushed to choose this place, but when you do you’ll have an alright time.

If you are a parent this is the place to take your kids in Canary Wharf. They were a little surprised when we rang up and booked a table for four on Valentine’s night. They were even more surprised when two of our party were kids! However, they are true professionals and we had a great night. My kids are used to eating out so it was never going to be a problem but they didn’t know that! Service is always good. If you haven’t booked you may have to queue for a little for a table. You may also have to share a table but this is always fine. It’s a happy place with great service and lovely food. Good kids menu. Great bread. Check out the specials. If it’s a balmy day/night eat outside and watch the world go by. Not just the immediate world but by watching Reuter’s big screen you can catch up with the whole world. Mind you, in these credit crunch times lets hope the share prices posted in ticker tape around Reuters don’t put you off your food! If you can’t stay, or if you’ve not had your fill, then go to the Deli next door and stock up for home. Food fantastic. Also great for foodie related gifts and books.

I absolutely love this place. The food is great, the wine is great and the service is great. It has such a buzz about it every time I go and I have never been disappointed. Its a shame there is not one near where I live! Its the sort of place you could go to alone and sit there all afternoon and not feel out of place. The menu is great but it is always worth trying out the specials on the board.
