Really enjoyed the meal from Grill’d today. Had a meeting so had to grab a quick lunch. My friend suggested Grill’d, apparently a popular fixture at Canary Wharf. Normally, particularly on sunny days, apparently there is a big queue in front but today it was OK. We stood in the queue and suddenly realised that we didn’t have cash and Grill’d only do cash so we had to pop over to the Cash Machine. They do Salad bowls and wraps etc… and I had salad. Lots of interesting ingredients but limited variety. I had a chicken and aubergine with ”everything”, and Garlic and Chilli sauce. For six quid its a bargain. The food was super tasty, the aubergines were crispy and chicken was well seasoned. The chilli was super hot, I suspect Habanero and the garlic was nice. A bit of Hummus completed the salad. If you want to grab a quick meal while near the Canary Wharf station, try out Grill’d, fresh honest food. 5 stars only because paying for your food take some bit of time and they don’t do cards. They should introduce cards, contactless so that we can just swipe and go! They do a loyalty card, 11th meal is free! Will try the warp next time!

Grill’d is always one of the busiest takeawayfood vans in Canary Wharf each lunchtime, so I recently decided to join the queue and see what all the fuss was about. Essentially there’s only two options, a salad bowl or pita bread, with various combinations of mediteranian toppings like cous cous and hummous on each. By far the most popular choice was the £5 salad bowl with chicken and additional fried eggplant for an extra £1. They also offer chilli sauce, which was extremely — and unexpectedly — hot and appeared to be homemade. Be careful and don’t mix it into the rest of the salad without tasting it first! I was surprised at the portion size too. A salad bowl doesn’t sound very filling, but it was plenty for me, and presumably for all the big guys in the queue too.
