I used to have breakfast here almost every saturday and even though I am a person who likes to vary, I can not really say much about the whole menu, as I always had the same meal and drink. The reason for that is that once I have tried the«Turkish Cypriot Breakfast with fresh orange juice» I could not dare not to eat it every time I went there. It is marvelous, I totally fell in love with the grilled hallumi cheese with honey. It is a family café. The type of place I used to go with my boyfriend, sit down and wait for the waitress come to us and say, «the usual?» and we say«oooh yes!» and we feel very happy like those important people you see on films.

Friendly greasy spoon tucked away behind Waterloo Station on fashionable Lower Marsh Street a reasonably wide menu selection includes some hefty(and very tasty) burgers, with or without the addition of light, crisp chips. The lunch of champions !

After moving offices from Teddington to London in January, we were all missing our local greasy spoon café. But do not despair, we seem to have landed on our feet and found a little gem of a place, the Coral Café in Lower Marsh. four of us set off 1pm on a Friday and settled down to our assessment and what it had to offer. Nice area, good clean tables and nice décor, but most importantly packed out with locals and the odd ‘Suit’ who know a good thing by the look of it. We were served within 90 seconds of sitting down by the waitress(only one but what a good job she did.). After taking our orders, we had out tea and coffee within 2 mins and our selection of set breakfasts within 6 mins. We know this as I was running my stopwatch on her.(apology offered, but we wanted to check.) She was single handedly running the area efficiently, calmly and with a great sense of humour and cheer and this added to the excellent atmosphere and service we got. We ordered a mixture of 2 traditional breakfasts that were huge, a big breakfast and a set breakfast all with toasted/fried bread. The portions were very large and the prices not typical London coming in between £4.90 and £5.40 including drinks. The food was very good, with the sausages, eggs and mushrooms done just right along with bacon, which was not too salty as in other cafes. And the bread was soft and crisp enough to mop up the beans and egg sauce at the end. All topped off with very curteous kitchen staff and cashier as we paid and left the café. If you want to see London do the London eye, Buck house, Parliament sq, Trafalgar sq, St Pauls and the others. And then eat at the Coral Bay Café, its one of Londons other sights and it should be on your list. Overall we cannot stress to highly what a clean, friendly and efficient place we found it to be and and you will not break your wallet/purse with the price of around £5−6 for breakfast/lunch. p.s Did we mention that the waitress was brilliant. Thanks

Super little café on this brilliant local shoppng street by Waterloo Station. The owners are of Cypriot extraction so alongside the usual fry-ups and baked beans there’s also a good selection of ‘healthier’ choices for breakfast and lunch — humous, olives, halloumi etc Punters are a real mixed bag of market traders, local workmen and office bods on lunch breaks. Great for a quick sarnie or a full English anytime!

This is an interesting little café and one of the most exciting ones in lower marsh. The front window is covered with fun and piculiar posters which make it even more funky and retro. There is quite a lot of room inside the café and can be quite busy inside. The prices are very reasonable and you can get a big plate of food for about a fiver. The service is top notch considering how busy they are there from 12 to 14 and the popular dishes can sell out quite quickly. I am not aware if they take debit or credit machines and there is no cash point nearby so take some cash with if you intend on having lunch there.

This café is a great hang-over beater. I’ve spent a few mornings in here bleary eyed and grateful when the a vast fry up and cup of milky tea arrived to erase the ill effects of the night before. It’s a clean and bright space with sweet staff and a good menu that does go beyond fry-ups — some of the dishes have a greek cypriot twist. Brilliant, classic café.
