Four corners was the first café I discovered along the lower marsh. Filled with very cool merchandise and tasty coffee, this is a great place to chill, read a book and just while time away while the world spins madly on. Also they have a loyalty card, and EVERYONE loves loyalty cards!

Not entirely certain why you’d stop anywhere else in the corridor. Supremely confidents coffees, bit of pastry, all done up in a laidback, yet competent manner. You might not get a seat at first, but that is just a proxy for demand, now isn’t it? Just the sort of place you wished you lived around the corner from.

Great barista coffee within 5 mins walk of Waterloo station. Good toasted sarnie too.

This café is a great catch-all spot just a few blocks away from the chains and mediocre cafes around Waterloo station. No laptops from 12 – 2, but outside of that it’s a fantastic place to work with a big communal table and smaller individual spots along the wall or window. Free wifi and lots of light. It’s also great for a quick meeting, solo lunch or a chat with a friend. Music is fun and a bit loud, but adds to the young and relaxed vibe. Sandwiches are good but the cakes and coffee are where the café shines — best red velvet cake I’ve had in the city. There are also seats outside for when the sun is out. Service is friendly and there is a lunchtime market on the street outside, so makes for a nice atmosphere.

Lovely little café with interesting drinks and snacks/meals(I tried olive leaf tea — delicious!), and cute multi-coloured teapot sets. A little pricier than other cafes in the surrounding area, but well worth the little extra for the quality.

Four Corners Café scores five stars from me for two reasons: excellent value Ozone drip coffee at £3, and a really friendly owner who was happy to talk to me for a short while about the growing coffee scene in London and the entrepreneurial experience generally which I appreciated. The drip coffee was everything I like: subtle, complex, interesting. But with something very unusual for drip: good value. Usually filter coffee(whether Aeropress or V60) starts at £4 and goes up, so finding it here for just £3 is fantastic. Even better was that they happily filled up my coffee flask as I needed to head back, with the result that I ended up with a rather more generous coffee than if I had drunk in. Bonus! For his part, Gary the owner combines several admirable traits: impressive knowledge about the coffee scene in London, humility(let’s face it, there is a lot of snobbery in coffee — not here) and as a Brit, a lot of self-awareness about how far and fast Brits’ appreciation for coffee has changed. Four Corners also sell pastries and and sandwiches, one of the latter which I contentedly chewed on my journey home. What a find this place is.

Arguably best coffee in London. Great atmosphere with a clever theme. Friendly staff. Food is pretty nice too(red velvet cake is awesome). Not the most comfortable seating but that’s a minor issue. Well worth the visit.

I found this place on Unilocal when I was looking for a good coffee place close to Waterloo station. It is a dainty coffee shop and not one which is easily spotted on the high street(if even on the high street). As it is small, there isn’t a lot of sitting area. As you walk in, you will see that they have about 3 tables capable of sitting 4 – 6 people and two little tables to only sit two. On the right hand side, there are two round tables with metal stools which I have to say I found rather uncomfortable ;( There are pictures on the wall of what I would have guessed to be customers who have been travelling and it states where that picture was taken e.g. Singapore, San Francisco etc. I liked that as it creates an even more cozy atmosphere. I ordered a black coffee and the guy told me to sit down, he would serve it when it’s ready. One sip of the coffee and I then believed why it’s an award winning coffee shop. I sipped through my coffee quickly without realising… Waiting for a friend has never been so rewarding! Another order of a latte for my friend and cappuccino for me. Our chat was even more interesting with this coffee. When I say that the cappuccino is the best I’ve ever tasted, you won’t believe it! I had one sip and got hooked. I took my time so it won’t finish but how I wanted another! 3 cups of coffee would not be smart to have in an hour though! I am craving to go back already and I’m glad to know that I now have a spot when in Waterloo waiting for a train or person. Tip: try this place, you will not regret it!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good price-quality relation. Could do with a power plug(or maybe I didn’t notice them?) since they kind of encourage people to sit and work…

The only downfall of this café is its a little too small. I wish this place was bigger. I e been here twice now for business meetings and its a great place for coffee. I got the chai latte with a shot of coffee. Yum yum yum! I love their merchandise you can buy and the servers are all really lovely. Just wish it was a little bigger so I didn’t always have to sit on a stool.

Great local café. Feels that way anyway. Very small not very many tables but comfortable place to leisurely have a simple breakfast and a cappuccino if you can get a seat.

Fantastic coffee, wonderfully quirky and loved the vibe. Highlights include a tabletop made of Lego and neon indoor signage. I had a perfect, reasonably priced flat white. Look out for the pretty mint exterior. Will definitely be back.

Without doubt the best coffee shop I tried, and it was recommended by a local. The simple and green front-door is great, predict to potentially find a great place. Inside it is the opposite, full of colors, stuff placed everywhere, and we understand that the owner may love travelling and browsing the world. The main table immediately attracted my attention, made with Lego, well done. But not only, the cake seemed to be so good, I tried the Banana cake. Not a must-try, stay on the classic Carrot Cake. The velvet cake seemed to be great too. The cappuccino here, is my favorite, the best I tried during my food trip in London. they also have an impressive choice of tea. The staff is really nice, friendly and available. Another neighborhood I liked, and I felt more relax here

Four Corners is a great place — it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and I personally think of it as the best coffee I’ve had in London. I come often, and it’s consistently excellent. There are only a couple of minor irritations about it — the prices are sky high, and a couple of members of staff can be pretty standoffish, but the owners know their stuff and 9 times out of 10 it’s a welcoming place. The wifi is reliable and the décor is light and airy and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit.
