Friendly traditional pub. Real ales on tap. The Old speckled Hen is especially tasty and well kept. Very laid back and relaxing place. You wouldn’t know you were virtually in the middle of Picadilly Circus. Recommended for a swift half or two! :)

Nice size pub close to Piccadilly tube station. Friendly bar staff with average priced pints, not the cheapest but also not the most expensive in London. I wouldn’t go out of my way to spend a night here but if your in the area then its worth dropping in for a pint. Bar food is the standard London bar menu. Try the Big Ben burger.

As I mentioned in two prior reviews, there seems to be a federation of British chain pubs masquerading as individual establishments. The settings vary from pub to pub, but the menus are indistinguishable. I’m not being an idiot and saying, «They all have fish and chips!» I mean they have identical menus with identical fonts, identical clip art, identical prices, and so on and so on.
This one wasn’t bad, and we managed to snag a table in the pretty quiet upstairs area. Unfortunately, since London pubs close alarmingly early even on weekends, we didn’t stay for long. We had time for one generic round of drinks and then we were out. I suppose there’s nothing wrong with that, but there’s no real reason to seek this place out.

Visited this pub before I went to see Spamalot, so probably the busiest time of day. It was packed, but the staff were great, serving people really quickly while managing to keep smiles on their faces. My husband ordered a pint of lager and a ½ of cider and the girl got the order the wrong way round, He mentioned it and she poured him another ½ of lager and said my challenge for the night was to finish the pint before the show started. Lots of wood and brass. Only downside is the toilets are tiny.

Great little Pub in Picadilly. I spent two months in London and probably most of it at this pub. Great Manager and staff that deseve all my thanks.

Anyone know if it is true???
Had a lager and it was good, as was the atmosphere, but we only stayed for one drink.

Yes, a really nice pub — but not extraordinary.
Just behind Piccadilly Circus it is surprising its not only full of tourists but has a nice mixture of people.
The barman was friendly and it was — for an afternoon — not too busy. Just right for a quiet pint of Abbot Ale or — mind you!!! — Old Peculier that very special beer thats not easy to get.
They have 4 handpumps (3 working).
