Gardens however small and private should be allowed access to by the public. Sadly Fitzrovia is private to the residents of the area. Even their cheese and wine occassions seem so private in the summers; despite the £10.00 entry for the occassion. It feels ‘Stay Out’(ish). This area in a Georgian style was developed for aristocracy; brought down by the London property slump years ago. The generous pavement seems an answer to its unfinished appeal. In the summers people working in near by offices are so desperate for green space and the sun; you can catch sight of them sitting outside encircling the caged up garden! Should not the gates be open more frequently for visitors to allow some humane interaction rather than it being a glorified jewelled piece of land.
