We visited the restaurant last Saturday while we went shopping at H&Ms. The restaurant was almost full, but we did not have to wait long to get a seat. What was annoying was that we had to wait for 2 hours for our orders to get to our table. We were in with our two kids aged 4 and 1 and it was no fun waiting for the small portion of food! We ordered the herby chicken with brown basmati rice and a bowl of tomato soup. I must say the kiddie meal was worth £6, it had a pizza with unlimited orange juice and a bowl of beans with a choco truffle ice cream dessert. They tried to compensate with a free bowl of salad and a £10 coupon to redeem the next time we visit. But I am not sure if we would redeem it at all!

I came here for some fish and chips. There was a bit of line to get in but it wasnt terribly long. I think the slow down came because there was a large kids birthday party being hosted that night. The staff was polite, the food was hot, and the service was quick. No complaints. One reviewer here said that Garfunkel’s is the Applebee’s of the UK. Applebee’s has improved its menu lately and started creeping slowly a bit toward a classier menu. This place felt like an American Denny’s to me. Not bad. Just set your expectation for basic food.

We went in on a Sunday morning to grab a breakfast. I could not be bothered to get totally ripped off in some parented Italian place so thought this would be a decent place. The other reviews on here are not very good but our experience was ok. We both had the full English with coffee and tea and it was really good. The staff were really nice too and made sure we were alright. My wife grabbed one last milkshake before she is back on the weight watchers. She said it’s not quite as good as a Denny’s but really nice nether the less. All in all a good breakfast at a decent price with good staff(if you are reading from Garfunkels then we had two women servers and it says conchita on the bill so well done).

Come to Garfunkel’s if you like cold, overpriced food. My friend and I came here for lunch. First, it took the staff 30 minutes to take our order. Don’t bother trying to make a special request to add or remove anything from your order. That is apparently impossible with their inefficient ordering system. The servers will give you a dumb, blank stare, as they are apparently unable to simply add cheese to your food. We continued to sit for an hour, and watched customers around us come in, order, eat, and leave before we even saw our food. The couple next to us arrived about 15 minutes after we did. They received a starter, a steak dinner, and a half chicken dinner before we received our terrible, tasteless, cold wraps. After I ate half my food and sent the other soggy cold half back, our waiter kindly told us to go online and complete a survey about our service today. We could win an iPad2 if we did! Conveniently, the survey website doesn’t work. I don’t know what I expected though. If they can’t even throw a chicken wrap together correctly, I don’t know why I assumed they could operate a functioning website. That was my mistake.

Not so good. We were having a late breakfast here, just 10 minutes before ending of breakfast serving. I had the Garfunkels breakfast, saying the eggs will be served your way. The waitress never asked me how I wanted them, and seemed to be in a hurry. I thought I would wait until they arrived to see if they were ok. Unfortunately they were served with sunny side up, which I don’t like — I would have asked for scrambled if they’d bother asking — but to not cause them too much trouble, I just asked them to fry them on the other side as well. They came back just dripping with oil, tasting nothing but oil. I had to pour out the oil in my napkin, The rest of the food was good.

This is the worst restaurant in the world. They should change the name to «Next to the Palladium Theatre with no Wait!!». Wouldn’t feed it to my dog if I had one.

What a horrible place to eat! The waiters take forever to get anyone seated and even longer to take orders. My friend and I waited for over 20 minutes before the waiteress came over to our tables however the food arrived quite quickly but… the food was just not restaurant standard. It tasted bland and like it was made by someone who didn’t know what they were doing. Paying our bill took more of our time and by the end I was glad to have left that place and upset that I didn’t walk out when I saw the poor service from the start. Do not go here if you want an enjoyable meal. There are better places nearby. I know I won’t be stepping into a Garfunkel’s any time near.

This place is shit! I have been to alot of shit places. but this definately stood over the top as shit. The customer service was horrible. The food was undercooked. We sat down for 30 minutes before a lady came to help us. Keep in mind that there was no one here. Some sorry ass chap came in ordered spaghetti and got it his food before we even got to order. what the fuck? Definately a 1 star.

My first dining experience in GB. I was surprised by everything, just not in the way that I had hoped. As an American, this was a brilliant prospect for lunch; it quickly turned into a disappointment. Everything was mediocre at best: service, food, atmosphere, price, etc. My advice to Americans: Go somewhere familiar or someplace off the grid. You’ll either relish in the subtle differences or experience something new, both are a necessity.

Not a bad place… we happened to come here and grab a quick dinner and overall it was a decent place with ok prices and food tasted fine. The first thing I noticed was the waitress seemed very much like one you’d find back home stateside, meaning you could tell she hated her job and couldn’t wait to get off work! I got the meat pie which was actually quite tasty, tho the mashed potatoes that came with it was an enormous portion and the gravy they offered was way too sweet and unedible to me. next time I’ll stick with the chips for a side dish. But it was cheap enough and tasted ok enough to come back to again if there’s nothing else around that strikes our fancy. It’s good to see these«comfort food» places in London since sometimes you just want a simple meal with no fuss.

After shopping in John Lewis, my boyfriend and I went to one of the Garfunkels along Oxford Street for a meal. It was one that had a downstairs section and we were asked to carry our baby’s pram down the stairs if we wanted to be seated, or to fold it up(and I assume hold my 3 month old on my lap for the whole duration of my meal). My boyfriend and I decided to go to another Garfunkels restaurant and stumbled across this one. We walked in and stood for a good 2 minutes while waitresses walked past us before actually being served. We were eventually seated at a table with enough space for our pram. Food was nothing to write home about and the waiter that served us was pleasant enough though a little weird/creepy, and he took about 15 minutes to come and collect money from us at the end of our meal. We were pretty much ready to get up and just leave — don’t think he would have noticed either! Not a place I would suggest for those with young babies, although they do have high chairs for babies who are able to sit up on their own.

Garfunkels is a classic chain restaurant similiar to Denny’s in the United States providing a large variety in types of food from classic American to European to Asian(well Indian). I like Garfunkels because the food is consistent and the service is reasonable. On this occasion my wife and I had a tomatoe and cheese salad, bacon cheesburger, chicken tikka masala, and drinks(wine and cider). The food was fresh and flavorful and reasonably priced(ignoring the horrible exchange rate). The service was on the slow side but tolerable.

I am an American tourist that stopped here for dinner on the first night of my vacation. For those tourists looking for a decent meal, this does the trick. The have simple American food(burgers, chicken, pasta). It was edible… Something which can’t be said about all the food in London.

When I was a child my mum used to take us to Garfunkels as a treat after we’d been to the cinema and I was always so excited. The interior seemed really glamorous with all the red sofa booths and large hanging mirrors, and of course the food was always very kid friendly. Things haven’t changed much, the service is still great, and although Garfunkels remains popular, their quality hasn’t diminished. I always go for a medium rare steak with fries and a salad, and a banana split for dessert. Looks like I’m still a kid!

Garfunkel’s is an American style restaurant with a few branches around central London. I found the food was delicious and we didn’t need to book a table. The staff however, were less than helpful. They seemed really annoyed by our table of six and brought all our meals out at different times. They also tried to clear our table before we were all finished which I really hate. They have created a menu with so many dishes that I find there is too much selection and I find it hard to believe that they really specialise in anything. Although the pasta dishes looked lovely, I opted for something I couldn’t cook myself; a chicken fillet burger with coleslaw and fries. Despite not being very hungry I finished every bit of it because it was cooked to perfection. The meat tasted chargrilled, the bun was crispy without being burnt and the chips were perfect. Apart from the service and the unfriendly décor, my meal was flawless.
