Cheap but decent food here, and good portions. The falafel is great. Good spot for a bite after a night out.

Don’t come here for a doner kebab. The meat is not very good. It tastes like weird fake meat.

One of the few super late night options in Clapham Common — when you stumble off the busat 2:30am, it’s Gizel, Shalamar or the 24-hour Londis. Since Gizel is the closest to my flat I often end up in here but if it’s in the post-partying hours of the morning i would recommend on just getting their burgers. The doner kebab has withered to a small sliver of meat and you know you’re just getting the dregs of the day and they smother it in the foul red cabbage. The burgers, on the other hand, are delicious. Order it with extra burger saaauwce.

I love kebabs! They’re my favorite thing to get whenever I’m in London, especially because I’ve had this during my childhood all the time at night. The owner is really nice haha, he likes to chat with you when you order. The price is alright, I think it’s the same as any other kebab place. Too bad they don’t have yummy tasting kebabs in LA :(

They do good value portions of chips, although the chips themselves are thin and a little greasy — I haven’t tried the kebabs but my colleagues have and I strongly suggest for health reasons that you don’t try the epic £8 everything one… it may disagree with you!

Rare praise indeed from redseven, not sure i’d eat here sober! It’s fairly packed of a Friday, but the service is quick. Lamb shish was passable, but this is no woody grill.

Been getting Kebabs from this location since i was a little kid. I went back to London summer of 2009 and this was one of the first places i went to. I have to say the taste is still the same brings back memory’s. Price is good, food is great what more could you ask for? Well now that I’m living in LA i can’t go to my childhood kebab bar. Will definitely head back to this place when i go back to London.

Gizel Kebab has saved my life on several occasions. One night in particular I was drunk to the point of acute blindness. I was with three of my friends and we were standing in what seemed like an interminable queue. When we got to the front the men who run the shop were so polite and totally caring and they whipped up my chicken burger with cheese and my chips in a flash. All I wanted was that chicken burger with cheese. My taste buds yearned for it, my blood cells were thirsty for some fowl sandwich action and my stomach was pounding for a coating of some fast food nourishment. My friends and I had to walk across the street to get a bus to Brixton. Of course, this turned out to be a life threatening ordeal as we dodged buses and cars that flew at us from all directions at the speed of light. When we got to the other side my right hand felt empty. I dropped the chicken burger in the road while we crossed it. It lie there dead, flat as roadkill. It was a devastating loss. My body never forgave me. So, yes, this place is key to existence. They have burgers, chips, kebabs, anything fast food oriented that you may enjoy. The prices are super cheap, like £2 for a mound of chips. It’s open until really late during Friday and Saturday, until like 3AM. If you manage to make it there on time, good for you, but please take care of your sandwich while you cross the road.

I feel honoured to write the first review about Gizels. Everyones favourite post-booze kebab shop, Gizels is a gem on the South of the Common. Pretty standard fare; Kebabs,(doners & shish) burgers, chicken, etc. Friendly staff, quick service, decent portion size — what more could you ask for? I like this place so much I eat here sober.
