Gusto

I found Gusto thanks to the Unilocal reviews, and was very happy to have done so!
Having flown in from Australia the day before, and with a wedding to go to and no hair dryer to speak of, I had to get my hair blow dried.
I called ahead, got an appointment within 30 minutes, and came out with a great style.
Carmelle was super friendly, and we had a great chat while she made my hair beautiful.
I’d definitely recommend Gusto :)

Oh my. I had this review writen ages ago and just realized it was still in my notes app, patiently waiting. Damn it.
I was looking to switch back to my natural hair colour to let my precious hair rest from all the stress staying ginger put on them. I wasn’t reassured to say the least. Not only i hadn’t been a brunette for almost 5 years but i wanted to get my exact natural colour back. I loved my natural colour and the only other option ever was ginger.
A friend told me about Treatwell (previously Wahanda) and i was able to find a very interesting deal in this high end salon situated right after Piccadilly Circus.
I was welcomed kindly in the salon (i’m always afraid people will act snob in fancy looking places, blame it on my life in Paris), and my coat was taken from me as they offered to make me tea or coffee.
My hairdresser took the the time to find what i wanted exactly and to hear me.
He started off by applying a cream around hair line to avoid stains. I had never experienced that before but it’s my first trip to the hairdresser in London so i can’t tell if it’s usual but it was welcomed. After applying the colour he massaged the roots and then the lenght into the scalp to even the colour, let it rest and finally rinced it with a scalp massage (i loooove these). He also applied a hair treatment as it was part of the deal. When i was all set up i got to choose which way i wanted my hair dried (it’s curly so either blow dried, natural or halfway throw: the blowdried waves).
I was very satisfied with the result and in the end he even proposed that i’d take an appointment in advance for next time, with the same deal applied. It didn’t have to be a sure one but they’ll call a few days before to confirm or push it or cancell it.
Finally, i’d like to add that I am not one to talk much at the hairdresser because i like to enjoy this me time and the quietness that goes with it. I appreciate when a hairdresser respect that and he did naturally.

I have come to Gusto a handful of times over the past year using the wahanda/​treatwell deals, usually leaving with an Okay colour and cut for the price. The stylists are constantly changing and I have probably had 3 or 4 different people colour my hair at Gusto as a result.
Giving 2 stars due to some decent visits and one bad visit, being today’s. Today I went in for a highlight, cut and blow dry and was greeted by the hostess who told me that the stylists were running behind schedule so there would be a wait. 35 minutes past my appointment time my stylist is finally ready. The stylist didn’t do any sort of consultation and was having trouble figuring out what colour to mix for my highlights. She was holding up strips of my hair to a board with coloured fake pieces of hair like you would do with a box colour from Boots. On top of that she told me I would be charged an extra £10 because of the different blonde tones in my hair (I have never been charged this extra fee for the same exact highlights previously).
At that point, I decided to leave before getting highlights from someone who came off as a very inexperienced stylist. I will not be returning to Gusto.

I needed a hair-​change and so after picking up an excellent Wahanda deal, I decided to try this new place. It’s kinda tiny and I might have walked right past it if I wasn’t paying attention. Luckily the staff were on it, and did an excellent bleach and cut of my hair. My stylist wasn’t über-​friendly, and actually looked a little intimidating but sometimes I prefer to read a guilty-​pleasure magazine rather than chat, so that was ok. I’d come back here for sure, especially since their prices seem great value for Soho!

I recently moved from over the pond and was in dire need of a touch up on my highlights, so I turned to the interwebs for assistance. To be honest, Unilocal is not as helpful in London as it is in the U.S. (I’m hoping to help change that) so I ended up discovering Gusto from Wahanda. I read the positive reviews about the color people have had done here and decided to give it a whirl. I’m not one to piss money away on a high end salon, so this worked just perfect for me. The outside of the salon is really unassuming and if you weren’t looking out for it you would walk right by. I had an appointment for 3pm and was taken by 3:15. Mike was my stylist and I have to say he did an excellent job turning my locks into a cool ashy blonde (it was turning a little brassy). I am really pleased with my hair color and have already received compliments! I will definitely be coming back to Gusto for my next touch up!

Great place for a great price! I felt like the hairdresser really cared about giving me the best service and making me leave satisfied. Came in for a root touchup and was a bit nervous they wouldn’t be able to do it with the color but they made it even better. They gave me a great conditioning treatment and head massage which left my hair looking healthy and fresh. Cut was great too. Definitely recommend!

Never has a hairdresser been able to blow dry my 20 inch long thick hair into curls, until I came here! Rafael did an amazing job blow drying my hair, he took his time to make sure every strand was perfect, and I came out with such luxurious hair for such a low cost. I feel so damn hot!

I am still smiling at the lovely colour job that was done at Gusto. To be honest, from the outside Gusto doesn’t look all that inviting but I’m glad I went as my hair colour is so much better now. The prices are excellent and the service great.
