We walked in here middle of the morning for some brunch, super tiny shop, not many seats — of which we grabbed the last couple! Shop was super busy with people ordering takeaway and raw sausages for cooking at home. Prices for takeaway are much cheaper than sitting in, so it’s worth it on a nice day to snag some food and walk the 50 steps to the park to eat. Breakfast sandwiches were excellent. Really excellent, good sausages, well done, etc. The sausage and mash was really good as well — definitely filling for a brunch. Counter service spot, though they did come around to take our order, when it was clear that the shop was super busy, that made it a bit easier. The prices certainly straddle the line between good and being a little pricey — but then the takeaway prices are better. Quick service, fresh food, and the option to grab some food to bbq later — great place!

Heap’s produces top-notch sausages of great variety directly on premises. One can purchase links to take home or have a meal a la sausages on site. I recently went into Heap’s with a friend for lunch. We wound up having breakfast, actually, that consisted of sausage, rashers, and an egg on toast. I’d like to call my plate Satan’s Special, but I don’t think it had a name, actually. The dish featured sausages made with scotch bonnet chillis. The sausages were warm, but not deadly hot, and I would recommend them to those who like a bit of warmth in the mouth as they eat. Heap’s is a wee café/sausage shop with limited seating. Sausage sandwiches as take-away would be an option for those who can’t be bothered to wait for a seat to open up, if the place is busy. Greenwich Park is only around the corner, so one could go there, lunch in hand, and have a sit-down. As a coffee snob, I should add my two cents’ worth regarding Heap’s hot bevvies. The tea is bagged and served in a pot. The espresso drinks are A-OK. I’ve not yet had an overly bitter, sour, or burnt-tasting cup, so, while it’s not Tapped and the like, it’s still fairly drinkable. Warning: in the loo there’s a huge mirror propped up against the wall facing, in part, the toilet. Look to the right(if you’re the sit-down type) as you go and you’ll be spared the visuals.
