Amazing food, simple Cantonese food for cheap! £6 for roast pork over rice. I would come here everyday if I could! Small place but hey, can’t complain!

I give them props for staying open late, they know how to make a living doing it, they got security at the door to keep the really drunk out, while letting the drunk enough in. What do you want at 3am-ish, after you gone to 5 bars? I want beef chow fun, and since it was Chinese or another kebab, Chinese it is. The security guard gave us the look, and asked us how many, luckily there was a table for the 6 of us available, and we were really drunk. My ABC buddy and I had the beef chow fun, and others ordered various noodles and fried rice dish, and everyone enjoyed it. It wasn’t super nice, but given this is 3am, and I ate beef chow fun in a restaurant, 4 stars it is.

Food was pretty tasty. Got the wonton noodle soup. Duck was solid too. Decent.

It’s ok. A little on the greasy side and quite expensive in comparison to other places in the area(and especially compared to places just a little further out of the city centre). Their specialty is their meat dishes but they are a little on the light side when it comes to meat. The greens were super generous and garlic-y. We used the excess garlic on our rice that the meat came with, as meat/rice/sauce ratio was very plain rice heavy. 1:7:1. A little dirty and toilets not flash. Lots of discarded plates with chewed bones lying around with a couple of insect fans. They also set our table with forks. Service was pretty slow. Won’t go back.

Hung’s had been on my to-do list since I moved to London last year so I’m glad I finally got to check(excuse me–«tick») it off my list. I stumbled in around 1am on a Monday after checking out Bar Rumba. I ordered the«famous» Kung Pao chicken and a side of egg fried rice. Both were really good, and you know that’s not the post-bar buzz talking because bars out here mainly use thimbles to make their cocktails, but that’s a different review for a different venue…

My parents are from Hong Kong and even though they’re not fans of the big city they’ve been making the 2 hour trip to Hung’s for some authentic chinese food since I was little and it never disappoints. So fastforward 29 years and I’ve finally moved to London. It’s 4am in soho and I’ve just been the victim of a pickpocket, do I care? No. Why? Because it’s 4am and i’m eating king prawn dumpling noodle soup at Hung’s! The mein(noodles) are perfectly al dente, the soup is clear, fragrant and fresh, and the dumplings have just the right amount of crunch and a generous amount of King prawn in each one. If you’re going to go here, and I strongly recommend you do, try the won ton mein, char siu and roast duck rice, the belly pork and rice, and/or the king prawn dumpling mein.

You gotta love the fitting name Hung’s. The bright red building exterior, flickering neon lights and the«hung» barbecued ducks in the front window drew me in like a moth to a flame. Wandering around the myriad of small restaurants in London’s Chinatown, I was unsure which one to check out further for some takeaway. In the end, it was the very low whitehead: blackhead(Caucasian to Asian) ratio in the place that made me enter this place. 8 GBPs for a huge portion of sliced BBQ pork in my mind was a bargain. Watching it prepped in front of me was also a pretty good show and clearly they are good at this since the guy with the cleaver had all of his fingers before and after. Once I was able to eat it, it was as soul-satisfying as any I have had in Hong Kong in the past. Happy to recommend this place for the hanging BBQ. Looking forward to checking out some other stuff on the menu in the future.

They serve shark fin soup. Watch this video and you decide if that’s cool or not. I’m never going there again

There is a section of Leischester square, which seems to be straight up China town. Although most of the Chinese restaurants(including this one) have the roasted pig and duck in the viewing window roasting, this one stuck out, especially also being that the place didn’t close until 4 am. So for food here, me and my wife shared some Kung pao chicken(a big portion and probably the best Kung pao chicken I have ever had) and some chicken fried rice(pretty good). The only negative thing I can say is that the soy sauce here is extremely salty. However, that is not enough to sway me from 5 stars.

Great place to come to after 2am when you are intoxicated and hungry when out in the Soho area. Food taste good at that time of night/morning. You may disagree the next time you visit when sober :-)

The food is good, not great, but the prices are very reasonable and they’re open late. It’s a perfect spot for a quick post-theater meal. I ordered the 3 meats over rice, selecting the duck, roast pork, and pork belly. The roast pork was a decent char siu. The duck was good. My favorite was the pork belly, which was served at room temperature. Very tasty, but it’s a good thing that you only get a small portion with this dish as there’s a lot of fat involved.

I’ve been to Crispy Duck pretty regularly for the past 8 years and they haven’t let me down once! Top quality food, very friendly waiters/waitresses(watch out for the not so friendly spikey white haired old man with glasses on the top floor — I dont like him) and top value. The menu is relatively simple, but you can guarantee for the price you pay(£5−10 per head) you won’t be disappointed with the great taste and portion. By far the easiest place to get good nosh after a bar/club crawl as well, since they’re open til 4am! :D

Very cheap for the locality. Seems to be open practically all night… the dining rooms stacked up on top of each other defy anyone’s estimation of the size of the restaurant… all in all, this place has never thrilled me much — it is strictly average and the average rating on Unilocal kind of surprises me a bit… But I keep going back there out of sheer convenience when looking for a Chinese fix. But just recently, I discovered another amazing Chinese place close to home(oooh, need to Unilocal it) and now all the rest of Chinese options in London have kind of faded in my opinion… including this one, which I might have given a grudging 3-star a few days ago.

Open late for you night owls. I can count with one hand the times I’ve stumbled in an ungodly hour ordering the same pork-duck-and-more-pork rice dish. The kitchen will drench everything in brown sauce by default; alert the waiter if you’d like to keep your rice white as I do.

Pretty tasty take out and my food cost under a tenner. Chicken curry and egg fried rice! Gotta be done on the way home from your birthday night out!

Okay so the asian side of me has been missing some good old chinese food since I haven’t had for over 6 weeks now that I’m living in Europe! I ordered a lunch box to go, rice with roast pork and duck. I’m not sure how prices go in the UK but 5.8 lb for a small lunch box? It was a bit pricey if you ask me. But then again this is London. not NYC, not America. I was already happy to be able to eat asian food again so I brushed that aside. The dish wasn’t mind blowing or fantastic. But it tasted very authentic, true chinese cuisine at its best. Definitely not that fast food to go crap that serves general tso’s chicken and stuff. Least to say, the dish made me miss home so much…

For some reason, I wasn’t really hungry until later at night during my last night in London. I think I was more tired than hungry. Nevertheless, my friend and I ended up looking for a place to eat around 9 pm. We figured we should probably just eat near the hotel we were staying at, W Hotel. There are tons of Chinese restaurants right outside the W. We looked at some of the menus from the outside and then settled at Hung’s. I have to say, the price was reasonable compared to other restaurants I’ve been eating at in London, and it was actually good! My dining experience in London haven’t been great to be honest, basically have been eating overpriced mediocre food. I don’t mind paying $$ for good food, but the I don’t like paying lots of money for food that won’t even be good. Well, Hung’s vegetable noodle soup just hit the spot. I’m glad it was the last stop of my London trip. Beats all the other fancy expensive restaurants I had been dining with.

I came here at 3am and I wasn’t in the most coherent state, so you can take my review as you see fit, haha. I don’t see what’s to hate about it really. I’d come here over and over again at 3am in a non-coherent state. The bbq combo over rice was great. The bbq pork was especially stellar, very soft and great flavor. The sauce over the rice was delicious and just sweet enough. The crispy duck was crap though. Don’t order it.

Decidedly average chinese food. I really don’t get the rave reviewed for Hung’s. It’s decent enough Chinese, but there are much better spots(any of the Legend restaurants for instance) in the immediate vicinity. The dough on my dumplings wasn’t fully cooked, and my stir fry sticken dish(ginger with spring onion), had fatty chicken with some bones and skin not properly removed. I’m giving it 3 stars though, as the prices are good(its quite affordable), it’s open ridiculously late, and the service was quick. However, if it’s before 1am and you are sober… you can do much better.

Armselig, was dort als chinesische Küche verkauft wird: Ente nur fettiges Stück, nicht knusprig, Service armselig, es zieht wie blöd. Nie mehr!
