Ok where do I start me and my boyfriend were hungry and were not far from Leicester Square«unfortunately» for us T.G.I’s waiting time was too long as I was hungry so hungry I could eat a horse… but fortunately for Cellar Bistro we decided to go as we seen the man handing out leaflets. We thought we would try it out as there were specials there didn’t seem much to choose from but we decided to go anyway. Unlike most of the people who reviewed this restaurant we found it easily but I can’t blame them I just have eyes like a hawk and managed to find it as it is literally not on the radar. So we went downstairs and even the stairs looked dangerous I was wearing boots got there and my boyfriend wanted to turn back and go it was so small *hence the name bistro CELLAR* we were squashed against the wall. The woman told us that we would have to wait as there were two customers already leaving so we waited while my boyfriend pleaded with me to just find somewhere else but I was too hungry and told him it may seem small but sometimes the best places are the small ones… how very wrong I was. And for once *I know my boyfriend will be pleased to read this* I can admit he was right(that wasn’t so hard to admit… not!!) so we sit down and we were lucky to get the table in the corner away from everyone. The people who arrived after us their tables were shoved next to another couples table which literally had them sitting next to each other not exactly the best dining experience when you want to have a nice meal with your loved ones. So when we ordered our drinks there was little to choose from if I can remember it was lemonade, pepsi, water and juice I think that was it so I chose the pepsi it was flat that’s all I’m going to say as flat as any drink can be, my boyfriend asked about beers they only had Carlsberg so not much choice. Not to mention there were only two waitresses one of them had a top where it just sagged and you could see everything when she bent over luckily she was ugly so my boyfriend was turned off LOL. But my point is if you want a respectable establishment dress decent not like a slag, I think they seem to think if they dress provocatively that people will be so impressed they won’t realise how bad their food is but that only works when the person is actually good looking and the food was so bad cleavage couldn’t make up for it. So not only was there no choice my boyfriend asked for the starter and his main meal and I asked for the main meal and the dessert which was the offer you get either main and starter or main and dessert, so by time it had come it was quite a wait for the starter he ordered ribs they were not cooked properly looked disgusting and there was no meat on the bone my boyfriend sent it back and then opted for the dessert. We waited a long time for our food. So we got it my boyfriend had the burger and chips and I had fish and chips and honestly I have never tasted feet but these chips tasted like feet… the only way I can describe it my ketchup was so watery it was unbelievable. I put a bit of ketchup on my plate and the waitress took it back straight away did not even ask if I was done with it. My fish was so small it looked like they had went fishing in a pond and caught it I was dissapointed especially with the price we had to pay. My boyfriends food was the same so I got my dessert and my boyfriend had to wait longer because the other waitress had gone out and did not tell the other one that he had sent his ribs back. I had pancakes they were thin and not that edible. Not to mention pepsi cost 2.50WASTEOFMONEY!!! me and my boyfriend were gonna do a runner but he stupidly ended up paying… I could have gone to the fish and chip shop across the road and got better food than that crap they gave to us, lets just say it’s worser than café food if that doesn’t put you off then good luck to you not to mention my dodgy belly. never again!!!

Me and my friend was walking around Leicester Sq and saw a guy who was handing out menus on the street. There’s a new restaurant in town called The Cellar Bistro. The menu varied with all types of dishes: you had Indian, stir fry, french and English cuisines, so it looked promising and we decided to give it a shot. We had troubles trying to find the place as there were no visible signs. We had to walk up and down Wardour St only to ask somebody where it is(opposite Pizza Express). Soon as we got there we saw a gentleman standing outside the entrance, he reminds me of a bouncer standing outside of a club. I very impressed when he greeted us and he also took us downstairs to our seats. The restaurant does live up to its name though ‘CELLAR’! So the restaurant is downstairs(not wheelchair friendly). I felt like I was in a 4×4 box! Yet the warm colour walls, mirrors with the menu written on them did make up for it! They only had one waitress serving that night. As soon as we sat down she asked if we could move our tables and chairs because more people were coming in and needed to make space. Was so quiet that whenever anybody spoke their voice would just bounce off the walls(am glad they decided to turn on the stereo). It was an offer night: any 2 courses for 7.50. For starters I had the mussels in cream wine sauce and for the mains fried fish tilapia and chips. Waiting time: 30 mins. Starters: Mussels(off the shell) in cream white wine sauce. It was served warm on what looked to be a tiny little saucer. I counted the little mussels and there was 6 in total. Sauce was buttery and the mussels were slightly rubbery. Mains: The Fried tilapia with chips. The waitress recommended the fish with the chips so I decided to go for it. The fish was small! Width was like a size of a computer mouse and 2ml in depth literally! I also counted the chunky chips: 10 in total! The fish tasted bland, like it was smothered in egg and the chips was crunchy on the outside soggy in the middle. I was not impressed with the portions and the drinks was extortionate for a small size cup of cola. It is cash only and with the price, I’d rather spend that amount at Nandos. I would not visit Cellar Bistro again and I could tell that the people who sat next to us looked like they had the word ‘disappointed’ written all over their face. I was impressed with the customer service and jazzy music so i give them props for that.
