I’ve finally done it, I’ve sold out, relinquished my soul to the advertising demons. I have now started shopping at Iceland. It is simple arithmetic really. The only place I can afford to eat is Iceland. Everything at Iceland is incredibly cheap. 500gr of chicken breast for £3 is sensational value. Six rashers of bacon costs £1. Cheesecake for £1 and gâteau for £2 makes Iceland almost to good to be true. The list goes on of cheap food throughout the store. Yet beware, the devil does not make a deal without expecting something in return. I bought a two litre bottle of Ki-ora(juice cordial for £1. Sounds like great value. It does until you read the label noting there is only 3% real juice in that bottle. So what exactly am I drinking? On arriving home with the bacon, I turn on the TV and fate deems to show the news. All pork products, including bacon are being withdrawn if produced in Ireland. I of course read my bacon packet. Hmmm! Made in the EU it reads. I bet my last pound it came from Ireland. Remember you are what you eat. Nobody charges £1 if they can charge £4. Something must be amiss with this very cheap food.
