One of my favourite spot to eat on the go with a variety of sushi selection(the salmon are excellent) the miso soup is a bit salted but it does the job and the hot pots of rice or noodles. I personally didn’t like the chicken rice pot but would definitely try the noodles another time. Also don’t miss that yummy chocolate mousse for dessert!

Itsu is amazing. It’s a sushi chain that offers DELICIOUSHEALTHYANDAMAZINGFOOD. Seriously, I don’t know what more to say. I love Itsu with all my heart and I would seriously consider eating here for lunch every single day. They have delicious, vegetarian hot pot options, and they’ve got cold salad options with rice and they’ve got sushi and I just love it. The nutrition facts are clearly listed on the shelves that hold the meals, and the staff is usually friendly. i love itsu, i do, i do. My favorite– teriyaki salmon on a bed of rice, or their vegetarian hot pots.

Good selection of good sushi. I’d say that wasabi is probably better in terms of chains. The salmon didn’t taste as tender as it could be. Friendly service though and good seating areas with handy handbag holder thingies. I loves me some sushi and this definitely gave me my hit!

What can you say about a chain? They’re all pretty generic. The place is clean and the food is good, although a little on the pricey side. That said, there was one member of staff who always remembered my order and would usually give me free frozen yoghurt. BFF right there

I will tell you one thing(actually I’ll tell you several, but this is the main one): I’ve never ever had a bad meal at Itsu. This particular branch at Baker Street is very good. The staff are friendly(they helped me find out whether a salad dressing had oil in it earlier today by checking with the chef who made it on-site). I eat lunch here about once a fortnight I reckon(due to close proximity of my office and also my extreme laziness). The food is always consistent and well prepared. Yes it’s a chain, and in general I dislike going to chains. But this one is a goodie. Don’t shoot me Unilocalers. The chicken teriyaki«on a bed»(sounds kinky, I can assure you it isn’t) is my go to for a low fat and healthy option.

So, firstly Itsu is a chain. We don’t have one in the Midlands, so when my colleagues suggested we pop in for lunch I was pretty stoked to give it a go. The design is perky, clean and less… I don’t know quite how to say this… Tacky(?!) than Yo! Sushi. It feels a little more upmarket. We went in on a Wednesday lunchtime at about 12:30 and I was surprised to see how quickly we got served and seated(for a traditionally busy period on Baker Street). We got some of the last remaining seats and sat down to try our purchases. Firstly, 3 Bento box style lunches and a Miso soup came to less than £28. Not bad for Central London! I had gone for a selection of Tuna and Salmon Sashimi with Edame beans, served on a fresh seaweed salad. It was faultless. It all tasted fresh and delicious, and the Tuna Sashimi was some of the nicest I have had! The restaurant(despite being a fast food joint) was neat, clean and tidy and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Itsu is just a chain, but worth a go if you’ve never tried it before!

I have to say that I was pretty excited to visit Itsu but it just didn’t live up to expectations. We popped in for a quick lunch and I was impressed with the selection on offer in the fridges of ready made sushi and sashimi(although more sashimi would be great as I don’t like rice with my raw fish!). I initially got a small box of salmon sashimi which had about 5 pieces of sashimi in it for around £4.50. Woah, big prices. To go with this I thought a miso soup(£1.99) would be nice. I was wrong. The miso soup tasted weird, in a really unpleasant way. I can’t even put my finger on it but I kept thinking I must be wrong and trying to eat more. One of my workmates also got the miso and said the same thing so at least it wasn’t my tastebuds going funny. It had a fishy taste without any of the nice strong umami flavour I love from miso. But it looked right, so I have no idea what was happening there. I then decided that I needed more food and went up to get a chicken hot pot with rice(£4.79). Again, this fell into the not-quite-right taste zone for me and I generally didn’t enjoy it. For a simple dish of chicken and rice I wasn’t sure how they could go wrong but they really did. I am a huge fan of Japanese food so this place really missed the mark for me. I know it’s a chain but I expected decent food, especially as I thought it was pretty pricey. I can’t see myself returning to Itsu again in the future after this dire experience.

This shop is part of the Itsu chain offering various sushi boxes(vegetarian included) along with salad boxes and the usual sushi fair. They also offer noodle pots, and soup as hot options along with frozen yogurt as your dessert option. You can eat in or take away for a healthy lunch option. Prices, ingredients and calorie count all clearly visible on the shelves.

Good sushi and exceptional service. There are genuine Japanese restaurants that cannot be beaten, but for Westernised sushi this is very good and decent value.

Yes it’s a chain, but for a quick lunch stop its really good, great fresh sushi, as said before not a massive selection, but I don’t need too many choices for lunch! Plenty of seats and nice chilled out environment. Good quick service with a smile. Will be coming back again.

Great place for a fast and healthy snack. They have sushi bento boxes in various sizes and tastes(vegetarian sushi is also available) and also offer warm dishes. I can highly recommend the Udon Noodle Soup with beef or chicken. It tastes delicious and the portions are big enough to fill you up for a good while. When you buy a lunch meal, you get a huge golden(and by golden I mean«plastic») coin that serves as discount for your next order(when ordering after 4pm). Nice!

So it’s a chain sushi shop/restaurant? Nothing special? Well, this place is actually pretty good, better than I expected, better than a lot of take out sushi chains. Fresh fish — check A decent selection of varied lunch trays — check Accessible pricing — check Service with a sincere smile — check(actually, I love the service here, they even stop whatever they are doing and open another till if there are more than 2 people in the queue) Frozen yoghurt — check, oh, wait, what? Yes, that’s right, they even sell frozen yoghurt with a range of sauces and fresh fruit. There is plenty of place to sit down too, generally a good egg of a sushi place. It does lack originality and the range of sushi/sashimi could be bigger, but it does what it does very well, no complaints form me.

4 weeks have past and I just discovered you, while you were just around the corner this whole time! Great place to grab a take-way lunch, or if you like eating in there are plenty of seatings available too. It’s clean and chic, with a decent selection of bento boxes and side dishes. Sushi was fresh and reasonably priced(for this neighbourhood). Edamame was okay, but a healthy choice nonetheless. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended for work lunch.

Itsu used to have a smaller place just up the road on Baker Street, but this week they opened this brand-new and much bigger store on the corner of Baker & George Streets. And it is rather posh for a fast-food chain; after all it’s a fast-food chain that offers healthy stuff ;-) I like this shop… it’s big and they have a wide choice of many different things: from various kinds of sushi boxes, salad boxes and mixed bento boxes. They also have hot foods, which they call Potsu: broth with Thai rice or noodles and various kinds of other ingredients. For a healthy lunch, this will definitely be on my list…
