Great bar and atmosphere for popping by after work hours — food is okay. They had a really good cider with rum in it(blind pig rum and poached pear) — first time i’ve seen this cider and it’s sooo good! but the nachos, wings, and pizza was pretty mediocre. The place is well decorated and feels like more a modern american bar than an old english pub. Fantastic service and lots of seating. Definitely come by for drinks but don’t have dinner here.

Great place for an after work drink. It is really accessible from public transport so everyone can enjoy a drink together. There is seating including in the modest outdoor space. It feels really private in some areas due to the use of dark wood, bookshelves filled with quirky old books, and the layout. They have a good choice of drinks, as I would expect… it is a bar. They do take card payments but there is a minimum spend limit, so bring the cash if you’re only popping in for the one.

I’ve been to Jack’s after work a few times and always had fun so when we were looking for somewhere to have a few drinks and a bit of a dance a couple of weekends ago somewhere off the jubilee line, Jack’s sprung to mind. It gets really busy so don’t expect to find a seat, but they play good music(they have a DJ some nights) so you’ll probably be up dancing anyway! They have a good choice behind the bar and it’s not too badly priced. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait to be served when it’s busy. Oh, and get the nachos!

Great bar in a great spot close to Waterloo and Southwalk stations with a really friendly after work atmosphere(O was there on a Monday!). I was there as part of a group of 15 and we were treated really well. It’s an ideal spot for work or birthday events. There’s a decent selection of British, as well as London, ales and beers too.

I love this place. It was the first bar I stumbled across in London. Love the music, the vibe and location. Didn’t try the food but the drinks are good.

Jack’s! This is officially my favourite after works bar. it’s about 5 – 10 minutes away, which is about as far as anyone from work seems to want to walk. I h ad my birthday drinks here, we’ve had many a leaving drinks here(not for me I might add) and this time was no different. So as we always do, we booked out the back room(refundable deposit) that can hold about 15 people and used it as our base for drinks. Of course there are always loads of us so we spill out into the main bar and take up some of that too. It looks a bit like a ski lodge inside, with that wooden feel — cosy yet spacious too. It’s set on a road near Southwark tube with about 4 or 5 other bars, so after work on the path outside there’s a great after work feel, business people celebrating a day closer until they get paid. The path itself is a cobbled path with trees and other greenery on each side, so it doesn’t feel like you’re by a tube stop at all. I love it! The drinks are fairly resonably priced, £4 for most bottled beers is what you can expect in this area of London. They have a DJ that plays some decent music on decs overlooking the bar so you get that Friday feeling. I’ve never had a bad night here, a few terrible mornings afterwards though!

Jack’s is a place in transition. Having been recovered and iterated, it’s invested heavily in craft beers, a tight american themed comfort food menu and most recently ping pong! The décor is very much intentionally hipster. You have a multitude of wood tables, with antique furniture and a sparse array of bookshelves littered around the very large venue. These serve to make the place more cosy and afford some privacy. Prior to this, the place felt extremely large and slightly intimidating, particularly during the day, when the place is pretty empty. Food wise, the pizzas are okay. The Spicy Nduja is good as is the florentina. The gorgonzola is disappointing, as are the american hot. The toppings being quite spase on these, despite sounding quite full featured on the menu. The bingo wings are small but served with a lovely blue cheese dip and fall quite easily off the bone. There’s even a roulette game you can play where they make one of your wings extra spicy, but quite often you can’t tell which one this is. So the option is easy. Ask for them all to be extra spicy, you(probably) won’t regret it!(that same day… at least) And then there’s ping pong. It’s here and the table is very good. It’s situated by the window and if you’re closest to the door, there isn’t a great deal of space, so if you’re into smashing, then it’s best to tone this down in order to avoid either hitting the wall or lamp in the corner of this space. The staff are very nice and there is table service. It’s quite easy to head to the bar in order to get service a little quicker, but if you’re getting food, they often won’t serve you from the bar, so ensure you get the staff’s attention toward your table if looking to eat. Drinks can be either at the table or bar.

Recent remodeling had left Jack’s with the look of a New York dive bar but the feel of a hunting lodge. Slightly baffling but not a deal breaker. That my company is to hold regular meetings here is also good thing — the staff pretty much calls Jack’s home on Thursday and Friday nights anyway. Very impressed the bar now carries a respectable range of trappist Chimay.

A great bar underneath the railway arches. When I went on a week day it was filled with post-work drinkers so not sure what it is like on a weekend. Good atmosphere with friendly staff.

I went here for a friend’s leaving drinks the other day. Located on a small pedestrian street, which is lined with fairy lights the setting is adorable. Plenty of space outside for when the weather gets good and a vast bar inside. The burgers looked good, but I kept to wine and cocktail sausages all evening, both of which were adequate. Music was loud and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend this place for a lively after work drink or even some food on the weekend after a walk along the Thames.

Had a works Xmas do in here this week and will very strongly recommend it to anyone & everyone! They have a new menu in place, British style tapas & burgers. I had a Deluxe burger that was cooked medium(100% steak mince!) topped with thick bacon & smoked cheese. The bun was toasted on the chargrill but still lovely & bouncy & stuffed with crisp lettuce, chunky tomato & red onion rings. Came with a portion of huge sweet potato wedges which makes a nice change although chips are also available. Sorry to go on but this burger was MAGNIFICENT! GOTHERENOW!

Went here for a work ‘do’ a month or so ago and it was fab! The décor at Jack’s is very interesting: antique style armchairs in the VIP area, leather chairs and pouffe-style stalls, dark walls and dim lighting all go together to create a very relaxed and ambient feel. It’s incredibly relaxed, the staff are very friendly and the drinks are well priced. The food was also well priced and delicious, so no complaints there. Smokers are accommodated for in the large outdoor seating/standing area which is covered — and you can still hear the music — bonus! Really clean toilets, a wide range of cocktails(unfortunately I didn’t try any) and a dress policy ruling out hoodies, trainers and baseball caps which(although I could be widely stereotyping) I reckon helps to keep it peaceful(that, and it being on a quiet backstreet). Travel options: a quick walk from Waterloo and 30 second walk away from Southwark tube. Overall — fabulous and would definitely go there again and again if it were closer to me!
