Prince William Henry

Great location, average selection, staff isn’t on top. the interior is OK otherwise. Not too much options nearby.

Now that the sun is finally out pubs with an outside area are the best to enjoy a cold pint. The Prince William Henry is all I want from a pub. Great outside area, lots of fried food to go with your beer and almost everything comes with chips.
We went for a team lunch, enjoyed the sun and the food and I even got a bit of a tan. The veggie lasagna were tasty and cheesy and the fried chicken goujons were very nice and filling. While I would not classify this as healthy comfort food, I think fans of fried food and beer will be happy.
Definitely a winner for me and I can’t wait to go back when I want to indulge.

Best beer I’ve had in London this week. Young’s chocolate stout was amazing! Fun little place with a great atmosphere.

This is one of the bigger pubs in Southwark. Can’t believe it took me three years to pay it a visit.
Recently revamped, it’s outdoor space is now as cozy as the inside, albeit wrapped in a garden theme.
To the proprietor: might be worth developing the outdoor patio into an enclosed space for the fall/​autumn. Much potential there.

I had only intended to stay for a quick drink after work, the temptation of a real English Ale on Cask is always too good an opportunity to pass up!
I wasn’t expecting much from the pub, it looks a bit industrial from the outside but in fact, inside is very comfortable and the outdoor seating area is not at all bad.
It was a hot and sunny eve, so I opted for the outside tables, it was the perfect spot for a pint and a read of my latest (and sadly, last) Tom Clancy.
The pint was pretty good — a Youngs Ale called Tribute, as I was finishing someone close by got the meal they had ordered — fish and chips, it both looked and smelled far too tempting to just leave, so I ordered the same. Again, well worth it.
Overall, I liked the place, I’ll be back!

Ich war am letzten Abend eines London Urlaubs im Prince William Henry und war positiv überrascht. Im Vergleich zu allen anderen besuchten Lokalen konnten wir hier für unter 10 Pfund essen. Der Service war freundlich (man bestellt Speisen und Getränke am Tresen, wird dann aber am Tisch bedient) und ging auf unsere Wünsche ein. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es lediglich für die etwas kalte Atmosphäre. Insgesamt konnten wir in diesem Lokal für vergleichsweise wenig Geld einen schönen Abend verbringen. Das Lokal verfügt auch über eine Außenterasse, die wir aber aufgrund des Wetters nicht ausprobiert haben.

It has everything you’d expect in a classic pub, and it’s also big.
Huge, if you count the covered patio and even bigger with the uncovered areas. Unfortunately the size can play against them, as it seems empty if there’s not a big crowd. Nice beers and staff… didn’t try the food.

This pub suited our needs at the time, but didn’t have much by way of charm or character. Good location, just a couple minutes away from Southwark Tube Station and the river. Huge front patio deck with much of it covered from the rain (but facing right out to busy/​loud Blackfriar’s road).
We ducked into this pub during the flotilla, after we gave up on trying to actually see anything from the river’s edge, and figured it was just as good to watch the pageant on tv in pub than in the rain on the big screens. So we just needed a bar with 1. Seats and 2. a TV. And PWH fit the bill, but didn’t offer much else. The food we saw delivered to the tables around us didn’t look overly impressive, so after two beers and once we got hungry we left.
Nothing was necessarily bad about PWH, and service was fine, but it was just a bit generic. Head around the corner to King’s Arms for a bit more warmth and cosy atmosphere. If it’s eats you’re after, go to Byron’s up the road for a burger.

Great local pub with extraordinary food. We had beef burgundy that was cooked perfectly and sticky toffee pudding. Drinks were good, wine was not over priced and service was excellent.

Visited just before xmas and found the atmosphere friendly, lively and staff standards high with thier food and service. The outside seating area was great for us smokers and protected from the weather. As visiters from Auz we really enjoyed the comfort and attention o detail and would recommend it to other visiters. very central and easy to find.

a very normal pub with really good staff. deals on drinks, food at normal prices, filling but not gastro. darts, quiz machine an lots of outside seating. they also do a £30 tab to win in a raffle on Friday night. worth a punt for a pint on the way home
