Catering options in London train stations have come a long way, and it’s great to have a choice of outlets that you would actually consider in real life. There’s actually very little to add that hasn’t been said before. Leon has been around for a good few years now and established itself at the healthier end of the takeaway fast food market. I don’t actually use Leon all that often and like the fact that each visit is a new discovery. I know ever-changing menus can be annoying when you’ve found your all-time favourte … Anyhow, what is most noteworthy about this particular branch of Leon is the large dining area behind the counter. I wasn’t aware of this until I took a closer look yesterday and was surprised to find a really pleasant space to enjoy my ridiculously late lunch away from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross station. Almost nice enough to make this a destination without a train to catch — just almost …

Not bad — tasty lamb koftas on top of tonnes of nice stodgy rice with a big side of coleslaw and plenty of tomato salsa and creamy sauce. Plenty of food but priced at £7 you would expect there to be. Not as good quality as I have had before — I think the charm might be wearing thin. Not particularly interested in going back but there wasn’t anything BAD about it!

Ok, well I just love Leon. My favourite is the Chicken Hot Box with Aioli(which I can never pronounce when I’m ordering?!) everything tastes fresh and clean and pretty delicious! They’ve definitely marketed themselves as the healthy place to eat, so I was shocked when I found out how many calories were in the hotbox(apparently nearly 700) … I mean it won’t stop me from eating at Leon … But I just expected it to be in the more«healthy» figures of 400−500ish. Having said that when you compare it to other fast food places like McD’s or KFC… There’s really nothing to complain about!

I. stopped here for a latte and a sausage and egg muffin. While the muffin looked appetising, I was far from impressed with the taste. It was dry and the sausage was tasteless. and the sauce used, made the bun soggy. My latte had very little latte and an abundance of froth. I honestly don’t think I would recommend the breakfast here.

I was here when I was looking for something cheap to eat and decided to give it a try since people were lining up to in front of it. Ordered the gobi and it was the best decision ever. Tasty food and very healthy! definitely recommended this place for a quick and healthy bite! The guy at the cashier was really nice to top it off.

Good healthy fast food!!! The portion aren’t that big, so keep that in mind if you are super hungry! I got the superfoods salad, which is all green and then some feta — really good, even though it sounds a little boring. Second time i was there i got the kale chicken ceasar and that was… Hmm not to my liking! It had anchovies in it(that might be normal in a ceasar?!) so the whole thing tasted very fishy:( I didn’t go to this location, so can’t say anything about the staff, but the staff at the spittalfield market one where really nice and super quick:)

Leon is fast food restaurant with wholesome meals. The stuff that you’d probably make at home, not that greasy, and it’s quick. Lots of veggie and meat options — and lots of different types of meat too eg chicken, lamb etc I ordered the Chicken Aioli Superfood Salad sized big. It came very fast– almost instant as they had some portions pre made. The packaging is simple and everything came in a bag for take away. When I opened the box it looked ok — but it’s not a «big» size. In fact I left still hungry! I was not impressed by the chicken either. It was warm but not good quality at all. Wasn’t like strips of chicken breast rather it was whatever cut they could get and the quality was poor so it was quite fatty. Overall I’m not sure if I would come again to Leon… They make fast food but the portion size is small even though I opted for a bigger size(!) and the quality of the meat was sub par.

Perfect breakfast size and a great place to wait for a train with plenty of seating! Prices are fair with a breakfast item and coffee for £3.95 — basically McDonalds price but superior quality and delicious.

I can’t believe this place is so highly rated on here, I can’t believe people go here, I can’t believe they’re in business. We went here at breakfast before catching a long train. I got a sort of English breakfast in a cup. It did not taste good, and cost us an arm and a leg. The restaraunt itself is not a good place to spend five minutes.

Get the chargrilled chicken chorizo club box. Amazing materialised! It’s a great place if you want a quick bite, and the food is much, much better than any other fast food establishment. The food is extremely tasty and very healthy. They have a good variety of food on offer to cater for just about everyone. I usually get a club box, some fries and a drink. Their drinks are perfect. However, I wouldn’t recommend getting the Goji Berry drink, it’s rather average. Sort of like a squash, but with a £2.00 price tag. Get a lemonade or orange juice, much better value for money. The staff are crazily nice. Every time I’ve been there they have been so kind, and very helpful. Overall, a great place for quick and great food and a suitable price.

Well the Christmas wrap is horrible. The quantity of meat is not fair and there was too much cranberry sauce. I know this is a Christmas nugget and it will probably go in a month, but unlikely I will take any more wrap from here

I believe this is a French company(correct me if I am wrong) the place is located at kings cross station and it looks like a good alternative to most of the fast food places at the terminal. The food is expensive and portions are super tiny! £3.50 for a bacon sandwich which was just bacon on a piece of bread(so super dry)! My boyfriend got the poached egg English breakfast cup and that was even smaller than my tiny sandwich! I don’t think we will return to this place.

Fast, nourishing, affordable. Leon’s was just supposed to be a meeting point today, but it became a dinner meeting. I see Leon stores all over London, but this is the first time I peeked into one. They essentially specialize in healthy box meals. The sliders serving food from the kitchen to the front reminds me of McDonald’s. Fortunately, it’s anything but. I ordered the Moroccan Meatballs featuring good slaw and tasty British Beef meatballs. For the non-natives like myself, be aware that some restaurants for some items have take away and eat in prices. Leon does this for a few drinks at least.

I’ve stayed in a small B&B hotel near Kings Cross/St. Pancras several times in the past few years and was always a bit frustrated by the lack of decent take-away in the vicinity. Even on my last trip in 2011, I found Pret a Manger and pretty much nothing else. Skip forward to September 2013 and the fact that the beautiful new Kings Cross concourse has opened. What a change!!! This evening after returning to London after a day trip out, my sister and I were ravenously hungry and much too tired to face a hour or more at a proper, sit-down restaurant. So we decided to check out the offerings in Kings Cross. We picked Leon for the simple reason that it was the first place we saw. And what a good choice it turned out to be. Friendly, prompt service at the counter, quickly followed by two bags of delicious-smelling food. I selected the Moroccan Meatball Hot Box, and my sister had the Chilli Grilled Chicken Hot Box. In minutes we were back in our hotel, kicked off our shoes and we dug into the food. All I could hear from my sister, seated on the bed opposite me were moans of «Oh, yum!» and«This is SO good!» I think she’d say the same was coming out of my mouth. Summary: Really amazing food for the price. Very flavorful and well-spiced. You’re very lucky, London! I’m now wishing we had a Leon in Houston.

I really like the Leon chain, but what irritates me is that every time I go there, the menu has changed completely and often also looks differently. One time I went with a friend to a branch at Strand, because we found the new menu too confusing, we left for a place that was easier to grasp. The Leon at King’s Cross is located in the Western Concourse — if you have not already been there, the Western Concourse alone is worth a visit, not so much for the shops, but for the architecture. Once you have mastered the menu, you can find decent food at Leon — for a chain, I think their offering and quality is really good. This time, I ordered the Leon Meatball Burger and the Leon Baked Fries. It was a shame that my baked fries were a bit cold, but they still tasted nice. The meatball burger really is more a slider than a burger, but I enjoyed this little thing and am looking forward to my next visit at a Leon branch. Let’s see what surprises the menu will have for me then…

5 stars?! Yes, I’m actually still that excited about my breakfast this morning. As I woke today, I pondered whether poached eggs were going to be an option for a breakfast on the move. After about 3 seconds I realised that I was never going to find portable poached eggs in London(or anywhere, for that matter) so off we headed in search of a suitable alternative that was quick and tasty. I headed into Leon, and browsed their menu. BAM — poached egg cups. OMG. I was over the moon with delight. The guy serving me was friendly and helpfully(there seemed to be an option to add a hot drink onto the meal for 5p but it was just too hot). Within about a minute, I had a neat pot with a poached egg and ham inside with a lid on it for safe transport. It was absolutely delicious, served with truffle Gruyère. At somewhere around £2.30 it is also really good value. I just wish I’d ordered two(no «two eggs …» jokes please).

Oh sweet mother. Ok so apparently they’re a chain and apparently I got waaaay too over-excited about what I found there this morning but I don’t care! I felt like Julie Andrews on top of the mountain after all the raindrops and roses and shizzle. This place seems to be built on a notion of pots. Little pots of amazingness to eat stuff on the go that you wouldn’t normally be able to away from your kitchen table. I got myself two little treats, as excited as I was, I couldn’t choose.(Yes I am easily pleased — so wha!) 1. Poached egg with beans on top. A perfectly done poached egg down at the bottom of the cardboard pot(how do they do these by the way!!! I want to do them at home!), topped off with baked beans, but not your ordinary baked beans. They were really flavoursome and tomato-y. Not too gourmet to be annoying but not too Heinz-y to be too plain 2. Yogurt with seeds, honey and blueberry. Well this was just like summer in a pot. I have no idea of the fat content of the yogurt. I’m guessing judging by the deliciousness of it, pretty goddam high. But let’s focus on the delicious factor. Aside from the food, due to the over-excitement of the whole scenario, I was standing at the counter waaaay past normal polite-societal time frame trying to choose my food. The staff behind the counter didn’t put me under any rush and in fact helped me make my decision. They were super friendly and so lovely. I. Love. This. Place.

You know it’s actually taken me years to try Leon. I’ve been walking past the one on Regent Street for 3 years now saying to myself I’d try it, day after day, and then just going to Boots because I don’t know new things are exciting but also scary. I was pulled in by the chorizo burger, as the chorizo itself is from Brindisa(though I’ve never tried it, again, blasphemous, I’ve heard good things), and it was sooo good. The fries reminded me of waffle fries back home which were always amazing and they were definitely tasty though could have been crispier. Finally the lemonade was a lovely ending and I was pleasantly stuffed. Okay so my choices weren’t very healthy and Leon’s supposed to be about healthy fast food. One day I’ll go for the healthy stuff. As it standard of fast food, the service is very quick and efficient. It is pretty expensive though, coming to just under £9 which is not generally how much I’m willing to spend on lunch. I’d probably sooner go for a burrito upstairs but for something different I’d try here again :)

Hello Superfood Salad, Sweet Potato Falafel, and Veggie Curry. The food looks so amazing that I even tried one of my partners Meatballs! With so seriously tasty and fresh food it’s hard to wrap your mind around the fact that it is actually a chain. The have everything from hotboxes, salads, wraps, burgers, soups, juices, smoothies, porridge, yoghurts, toast, and full English breakfasts. I want to try everything on the menu! Why oh why is there not a branch in Notting Hill? Please come, we are soo your audience! I wish all fast food chains were like Leon.

Good fresh food very fast. In the culinary desert that is Kings Cross station, this is a valuable oasis. I like the veggie Moroccan curry, which even comes with a real chunk of real lemon to add some zing.
