We were four people and thought we’d never find a nice place to sit down and have a drink comfortably on a Friday night in Soho. My friends would have just walked past Lil’s but I said I’d quickly have a look inside. From outside you only see the bar but if you walk down some steps, there’s a lower room with several little tables. It’s a bit dark and not the trendiest interior but I called my friends in and everyone was quite happy with the place. Surprised by the stilishly served, delicious cocktails, we couldn’t believe that the bar was so empty. We’d become so comfortable at Lil’s that we decided to share a cheese platter and a bottle of wine to go with it. People around us started ordering food too and it all looked quite delicious. Months later I visited Lil’s again, just for an afternoon coffee(average quality) at the window front. The place was empty again. Maybe the staff is not charming enough, or the interior is not cool enough — I don’t know what’s wrong here.

Little gem of a place. Easily walked past which is why it’s still possible to get a table on a friday night! Have visited with friends, with clients, with a date, and each time we’ve enjoyed our visit. Perfect spot for a bottle of wine & sharing platter on an evening, or to sit in the window with a coffee watching the busy Soho folk bustle by.

I was there yesterday for a business meeting and it was the perfect environment: great coffee, fast and friendly service and a cocktail list that definitely means I’ll be back! It was fairly quiet, although the music was turned up after 5pm, and ideal for a quiet conversation during the day and a more rowdy drinking session in the evening. Any experience can be a one-off(good or bad) but I’m definitely keen to go back and see if the standard is maintained.
