We stumbled upon this little gem while in Islington, London, and I was really happy with the whole package. It is a Turkish cuisine restaurant and they serve charcoal cooked meat, which is relatively hard to come by in restaurants. The smell was amazing and we couldn’t wait to savour tyhe food! We came about 4.45 and they were still serving a lunch set menu, which cost almost £8 and included a starter, main course and a soft drink. I don’t know if they serve alcohol, as I didnt ask, but I did not see it on the menu at all. The choice was plentiful and we were served very quickly, first the drinks then the starters, which were again plentiful on the plates, Humus, Taramasalata, falafel and fried haloumi cheese with a basket of lovely pita bread, not the usual one but softer and tastier. Then the main course arrived as soon as the starters were cleared off the table, and it was, again plentiful on the plates, having rice, salad and the meat itself, and more salad and pickled cucumber on side plates arrived as accompaniment. The lamb my son had was real tender, non fatty and delicious, I thought mmmmm… Everything was lovely, the décor is also a nice touch, a chandelier on the ceiling, good lighting, very clean and tidy, welcoming touches such as potted plants at the doors, and we loved the fake grass outside! There is seating downstairs, toilets were clean and had everything, but the hand dryer was too weak. Staff very pleasant and accommodating, all in one a great experience at lunch time and excellent value for money.
