Another name change or new owners, who knows. This’s site has had a fair few restaurants so always interesting to watch the next new idea unfold Interesting name, good grub and more tiles than a builders yard… but I suppose thats what the new trendies demand nowadays. We had the slow cooked smoked brisket and a whopping pork topped burger. Excellent value overall… we spent around £14 per head and were proper full with our meat fest and cocktails for a fiver… yes…a fiver! It’s kinda a ‘go to’ type of place as opposed to dinner date and candlelit romance, but we’ll be back for another good feed soon. To there if you’re hungry, don’t mind getting meat messy and like reasonably priced cocktails!

Good décor, good drinks and a decent Burger. Those are the only positives I can say about this place. The pulled pork on my visit was dry and tasteless, the chicken wings soggy and without flavour, and the ribs were fatty. Oh and the coleslaw was just beetroot and red cabbage. I don’t think I’ll bother going back as I felt a bit like I’d been ripped off and there are lots of other good choices in the area. Maybe I’ll pop in for a burger again if I can’t be bothered walking to Street N4. I have a suspicion that this place is owned by the same people who brought us «Rub» and«Brisket» on the same site. Unfortunately the rebrand doesn’t fool us — the food just isn’t good enough and I for one won’t be returning.

Called in on a Thursday for some pre pub grub with some friends. Décor is what can only be described as ‘wannabe hipster’, which is generally functional, but nothing special. Tables are arranged in twos and fours mainly and the place was mostly full with people that looked like they were having a decent evening. Music and lighting both at the right level, which is something I feel is very important. All the beers are between £4.50 and £5, with pints being on the upper end of that. Not particularly cheap. Ordered burgers(£6.5 — £7.5)and the platter(£20). Took about 20min to arrive which was fine me as we weren’t in a rush. The burgers were very good. Nicely cooked with great quality ingredients. The platter meanwhile was an absolute disgrace. The pulled pork managed to be both dry and watery at the same time. The BBQ chicken wings were rubbery, gooey and tasteless, and the ribs were forgettable in the extreme. The coleslaw is just purple cabbage and vinegar. I’m sorry, but with the local competition as high as it is, charging that much for food that poor is going to get you steamrolled. Would not go back.
