Friends and I went for light dinner and drinks, and I really liked this place! First, the concept is quite creative and convenient. Essentially, you pick up all the canapés you want from the centre, then pay for the number of sticks left from what you’ve taken. Relatedly, food is solid good. Every canapé had a personality and was flavourful. Ambience is cozy and artsy as well. I quite liked the fact that it wasn’t too big or commercial. Finally, service was average to above average. The servers were nice, but they were slow at times. Once, they lost the key to the wine cellar, so we had to wait forever for our second bottle of wine. Having said that, they were apologetic and gave us the second bottle on the house, so all was good in the end. Highly recommend the place after a show at Every Man across the street perhaps!

I LOSTMYCHURRO. it was an incredibly Sad day. Because it fell off as I was walking to the table. Because I’m short and I had to climb on the chairs to sit. Also what is up with the narrow NARROW tables. 10 of us turned up to brunch club and they manage to squeeze us on on table. And then there was a bottle of cava to squeeze in plus unlimited pinxtos! It was a real struggle to not elbow someone in the face. I wasn’t all too keen on the food either. The frittata was bland. And nothing was really too memorable. Lots of bruschetta which had some nice and also really weird toppings. Fun place to brunch though– unlimited cava to get suitably tipsy! I was being good though and I only liked one of the cava they brought out, the rest was just not to my taste!)

Don’t be misled by the 3 star rating, I liked Pix. I really want to give it a higher rating but I feel need to accurately reflect all aspects of the business. Came here with fellow members of the«Boozy Brunch Club». The place is small, narrow, the walls a kinda charcoal grey, the tables are tall and narrow. So they’re a bit econimical with the space. Not somewhere you would want to take a big group. The staff were prompt, charming and accommodating. We came for the unlimited pintxos and cava brunch offering. There was a minor inconsistency with the cava to start. They started us with a sweet one, then changed to an extra Brut. Fortunately, they continued with the brut for the remainder of the meal. The pintxos were a bit hit and miss. There was a kind of artichoke bruschetta and a sweet potato fritata which were the highlights. The potato fritata was not very pleasant. But the expresso cups of chocolate, cappucino mousse were delightfully delicious! For £29.95 it;s really good value for money.

Infinity Brunch Club Outing #2: Pix I made an early afternoon booking for eight people to try out Infinity Sundays at Pix. For about £30, you get unlimited Cava and unlimited Pintxos for 90 minutes. I love Cava and I love Pintxos so it seemed like a dream come true. Weirdly, they seem to give you random(ish) bottles of Cava. We started with one that was sweeter, but then they switched us to the extra Brut, which was good for me because I’m not a fan of the sweet drinks. And in all honesty, they were VERY good about making sure we had bottles of Cava to drink. I had way more than I should, and my glass was never empty nor were the bottles empty for very long. They put bottles on the table so you can serve yourself, but with eight people, one bottle of Cava doesn’t last long. It may have been better if they put two on the table, but like I said, we managed to get them to bring us quite a bit. However, I was severely disappointed by the Pintxos. The selection is well, small, and after eight hungry people descended on the plates of Pinxtos(plus all of the other people there), they were practically out of everything on our first go through. And they were REALLY slow about bringing out new ones. I felt like they have a standard rate of bringing them out, regardless of the number of people or the number of empty plates. It definitely didn’t feel like they were rushing, and it kind of makes the concept of «unlimited Pintxos» a bit silly, as there were practically none there. As soon as a round of churros came out, our group managed to get all six that were brought out leaving none for anyone else.(I decided to give one to the table next to us). It just seemed like they were really trying to keep the availability down. I also was not impressed with the flavors. Maybe it’s Spanish food for a British palate, but the food was kinda bland for me. I really thought they could have done a better job with it all. I hate to say it because I don’t want to be that guy(but it’s about to happen), the pintxos here just don’t compare to the ones you get in Spain. So it’s a fairly good deal, and maybe we just need to go to a different location next time to see if they do a better job of keeping the food rotating on a regular basis.

How all tapas should be done. This is very different: *They make small quantity of many many different types of tapas. *You go to common area and get an empty plate and grab the tapas you want(think buffet) *Then they rotate them out quite frequently and replace with new and equally awesome stuff. * you pay«by the stick» total at the end of your meal Servers were super nice and food was super tasty. Don’t half step. Check out their weekly specials… they have quite a few.

‘What day is it?’ ‘IT’S WINEWEDNESDAY! Where are we drinking? Oh… uh, i dunno’. Unsurprisingly I was in Islington when this exchange took place, an area of town with the least decent bars to go to. Oh you think I’m wrong? Well name one! I suggested Pix as I love things on sticks and it looks more like a wine bar than any other place on Upper Street. We sidled in past the array of tempting things on sticks and ordered up a bottle of temperanillo. Pix is in a funny location, this particular spot has been about 8 different establishments and none with any degree of success. But I like all things Spanish(except English expats) so I hope it survives. After an interminably long period of pretending I didn’t want to eat everything, I went up to choose. My companion, not eating meat, threw a spanner in the works so there were no tasty chorizo skewer options or thinly sliced meats to devour. I chose a salted cod croquette, some olives and patatas braves. The salted cod was predictably overly salted but the olives were so tasty that I could forgive that. I love Spanish pintxos bars and would definitely come back here, but mark my words, those tasty skewers add up quick.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for the all famous boozy brunch. Although I regretted my self-control with the sparkled wine on Monday, it was worth well and truly worth it. We booked in advance as it was for a friends birthday and arrived 30 minutes before our official eating/drinking time began.(Everyone is always at least 20 minutes late) From your time onwards you are given 1 hour 30 minutes to drink and eat as much as you like without being frowned upon by the bar staff. As we were a group of 10 the manager asked if we would like the upstairs area to ourselves which was great, we had access to our own bar, music and food at all times and had a great view out to Upper Street. The food was outstanding. Such an amazing array of choices with mini chicken skewers, olives, meatballs, vegetarian tortilla, churro’s with chocolate sauce and sumer fruits chantilline. All were in mini, easy to eat form which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to drink at a reasonable pace. Because we arrived quite early(around 2pm) the staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, allowing us slightly longer than our designated time and beyond perfect service. Very impressed and would love to try out the other locations in London, perhaps a future Unilocal event?

Pix is a cosy, tasty treat! I love their concept, you help yourself and pay by the stick. It can get quite dangerous though, as on our first trip up to the bar, we loaded our plates! It’s wise to set yourself a stick budget ;) The dishes kept coming out from the kitchen so the variety was good. There was actually too much choice and we peaked too early. The staff were lovely and brought the food around on the way to setting in on the bar. Dangerous, but lovely service! I’d suggest Pix for a catchup with friends or a cosy date. You can eat as much or as little as you’d like while sipping on a good selection of wines. Half our party was vegetarian and they had no problems finding veggie friendly items. If anything, they found too much choice at times! Book ahead on Toptable(very easy process) or, go there on a Sunday for a flat rate, all you can eat/drink deal. I haven’t been myself but was told about it on the way out so now I’m very intrigued!

Very decent tapas, very tasty for London, they keep good variety coming in through the night. Tho i missed the tortilla. Super friendly staff. Very good rioja, and moritz on tab! Having that beer and on tab gets them the 4th star. Not cheap, but hey, this is Londob, not Granada. Cozy little place.

Ah, Pix. Both delicious and dangerous. I’ve tried Pix across both the Upper Street and Soho locations — it’s a great spot to go if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere after(a show for example), though keep in mind it gets super busy around these times as well so although the food is already prepared and ready for you to take(you pay by the stick), it can sometimes be difficult to get a seat. My true love affair is with Pix Sundays on Upper Street. As an American coming from a land of boozy brunches, there is nothing that excites me more(that might be pushing it, but let’s go with it) than all-you-can-drink Sunday brunch with my girlfriends — and finally, an accessible place near my place to cater to this. For an hour and a half you can have all the Pix and all the champagne your heart desires for one set price. I’ve done this with girlfriends twice now and each time the staff has been super friendly and great on recommending different drinks to try and foods to eat. A definite must do if ever in the Angel area for a late brunch/lunch, though I would recommend booking in advance. My only reason for not giving a full 5 star here is that the food offering has become pretty standard — I’ve found that it doesn’t change much on each visit to Pix and would love for them to add different options to their already great selection(at least for those of us that can’t stay away!)
