Closest Burrito place to my work near St Pauls, turned up at just past 12 and there was the beginning of a que but it moved pretty quickly. They have a well greased production chain and its pretty easy to listen to the person in front if your new to ordering burritos. A decent choice of ingredients are on offer and all appear to be of a good quality. I went for the pulled pork which was well flavoured and juicy accompanied with anything that had spicy in its name. It all went together to create an amazing and fresh tasting meal. For my taste it was spicy enough but there are hot sauces available in the store if you wanna upgrade. There aren’t a massive amount of seats to choose from but most people are on the go and get take away. Price point is about £6 or if you have the«house made Guac» £7

When the line is out the door you know its a good sign. Knowing that London traditionally does not have the best options when it comes to Mexican food I went in with little to no expectations, was I proved wrong. I went for the Veggie salad. A salad base with brown rice, black beans, sautéed veggies, tofu, al 3 salsas and guac. It was AWESOME. And this is from a non vegetarian, it just looked so fresh, and it was. The servings were large, standard from a fast food burrito place, and options of Mexican sodas and chips. One thing i noticed and appreciated was that you could see the crates of fresh vegetables in the kitchen and that everything is prepared fresh and from scratch on the premises. There is a Chilango on the street where I work, but I am going to walk the extra few minutes to get Poncho 8 instead, looking forward to trying everything on the menu.

Love the place — love the staff — love the burrito. As simple as that. Good food — affordable and good place to go in the afternoon. Can’t have enough of it. To be fair — they do a great job and think the staff is particularly helpful. I was there one afternoon — and they even gave me a free coffee!

I like Poncho 8 a lot, they are really fast and have quite a lot of things to choose from. Love the fact that is only about 5 minutes walk from my office(that is always a plus) and you can go and enjoy it in the grass in St. Paul’s(yes, in sunny day you feel like paradise). I have never eaten inside because it seems a bit noisy and messy, too many hungry people queuing. The only thing I do not like is the price, should be a pound cheaper, but you get so much amount of food, you can’t complain. If you are not too hungry, you can always share. Tip: the £1 lemonade goes really well with the burritos.

tl; dr: Fairly spendy and not that stellar. Fairly decent mexican food, Chipotle-style. Tacos, burrito, and low-carb salady-burritoy things. About the same quality as Chipotle, I suppose, which means: underseasoned beans flavourless rice Rather good guacamole, and they do have brown rice, which is a plus, but at £7 for a burrito with guacamole, I’m going to head for Daddy Donkey, or Chilango if I’m going down the hill.

Not as good as Chilango, which is fairly nearby so I suggest you head there instead if you want a McBurrito(no judgment btw, I’m pretty pro McBurritos). But Poncho 8 somehow just lacked punch in terms of the flavours… maybe I should have added peppers/onions as well because it felt like something was missing, it was a little bland even despite the hot salsa. Mysterious. Having said that, if you’re right in the area and need a food fix fast, this will do fine.

So I guess this is the local version of Chipotle? Not too shabby. It was a pure madhouse during the lunchtime period with a massive line and barely any place to sit. But the meal itself was pretty good. I’d still take Chipotle over this, but this is a good local version.

It’s rather like Chipotle. It’s hard to find decent Mexican food in London, so that’s a compliment.

I eat rather a lot of mexican and tex mex, and have learned that a good take-away burrito is all about construction. Usually your burrito however tasty distintegrates completely within the first few minutes, and you’re left gnawing at a slimy fistful of beans and tin-foil. Not so Poncho no. 8! Somebody’s clearly paid attention to the details: there is a good ratio between meat and beans, the guacamole holds everything together, and the salsa isn’t so watery that it eats through your tortilla like piquant red acid. Oh, and the whole things tastes good too!

This place is great. The taste is better than most burrito’s and can be adjusted as you nice through the filling stations with the staffbeans, meat, sauces & salad. Recently their prices have home up and I feel like my burrito isn’t as big as it was when they first opened but when you’be got a hunger on and that Mexican craving hits, this place always hits the spot.

Tacos lacked the flavor I was expecting, as compared to other burrito shops.

I eat a lot of burritos but Poncho No. 8 is average at best. Mine was really dry and lacked flavour, and the chicken was really tough to chew.

Poncho pincho pancho No 8 is the best burrito place I’ve been to in London. As Dave Grohl would say, The best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the BEST the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best . I agree to that using my chewing in agreement mumble as I currently masticate away on a delicious steak burrito at my desk, perfectly content in the knowledge that I couldn’t have done better for myself. Firstly, it is hopping distance from my office. Secondly, the food is always fresh, the staff are friendly and there is a great selection of(get a slave to) build it yourself stuff. Choices of rice, four different meats, different salsa and pretty good guacamole. Now, I have another confession to make, i’m no fool. Potential dealbreaker one: I just went in there and they didn’t have any guacamole. However, it was 6pm on a Wednesday and they were slowing down for the day. And, the dude obvioulsy saw the deep well of sadness in my eyes, as he gave me free nachos to make up for this. Dealbreaker recinded. Man, I’ve nearly killed this burrito dead already. But yeah, they have slices of lime in little bowls on the table, hot sauce to buy as well as a choice of cakes(for some reason) and nachos(obvs) as well as your taco, fajita, lameasaurus burrito bowls and stuff. I think they just started doing ceviche as well. It is a type of fish, according to Wikipedia. Dave Grohl say that as far as fish go, it is the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best the best, but I can’t comment. But I do throw out 5 ninja stars of accuracy in Puncho’s general direction, and look forward to eating there again.
